Oh no - So many Pirates !

The weekend was cold and rainy. It was only 52 and my booty was freezing. Yestpurrday it finally warmed up to a delightful 78 degree. Timo and I were chillaxing in a sunspot on the MS Alemania, having nip lemonade and shrip cocktails, when suddenly, a wild horde of Pirates invaded our peaceful ship. We heard loud cries of

AAAARRgh, surrender and hand over the booty!
Put those paws in the air and nopurr will get hurt!
Aaarrgh, step away from the shrimp cocktails NOW!

Then they planted their pirate flags all over our quaint sailboat. Who knew there were so many pirates in Catsterland.

Well, they didn't really destroy anything. They chased us all over the ship and stole our lemonade and foodstuff. But the flags they left look very nice. We'll come around and recipurrcate soon. We are waiting for a shipment of a big box of fresh zealies here. Should arrive any day now.

Until then many thanks go to
Hunter, who was leading the charge I think
The Tabbies of Trout Towne, who got their paws on our secret stash of Tuna
Angels Molly, Misha and family, who directed the troups from high above
Colette, who poked me in my Bürzel! I'm sure it was an accident
Hobo, he's 17 years old but he was giving high-fives to everypurr in sight. That's his special talent
Chandler Ray and family, we got utterly confused about who is who in that family. Next time would you purrlease wear name tags?
Captain Coldcut Monida, who took over the bridge right away. Sorry Monida, we had no coldcuts on board
Pipo, Minko and family. Minko is a BOY, just like Pipo, and he looked very snazzy in his pirate outfit *blush*.
Shark Tooth Tully and Captain Luke and family. Yep, our ship needed two captains. Luke took the rudder and Tully was on lookout for sharks.
Dagger Toes Simone. Um girl - you need to go in for a pedicure I think. Don't leave any scratches on the planks.
My new friends JoJo and Ariel - who wanted to sail on ALL seven seas. Thank you for the offer. Maybe another time. But maybe we could just stay on Saylorville Lake for now? Timo needs to be back home for supper.

Thanks friends. That was a fun day. There is peace and quiet once again on the MS Alemania now.
Mietzi and Timo too

Pee Ess: What are we supposed to do with this scurvee parot that somefur left on our ship? That burd's got quit a mouth on him. Tabbies, please come back and collect your burd.

Decorating Pantyhose

Fall is coming for sure dear friends. Mom was going to wear pantyhose today. In the summer she just wears dress pants and socks but her company had some kind of a luncheon thing today were people had to dress up for. So Mom was looking through her pantyhose and I thought for sure she would choose the one that I had decorated so nicely with my fur but she picked another one. She was not amused with my decorating ability and said something about having to get a container with a lid for her hose.

Mom thinks I have real singing talent and I should enter a competition. Tonight I sang this:
Boo O Row Mau Row Rau.

I'm not telling what it means but it happened like this. Somecat was crowding in on my food bowl and then Mom moved my bowl up on the counter. And she told me "hops" which is German for Jump. Well, I did not jump on the counter to continue my meal but just sang the above song. I'll let you figure out the translation to "Human". Mom says it sounded slighly annoyed.

Well, I'm off to look for the container with pantyhose now. I'm ready for a nap.

I am 10 years old now. When 9-11 happened I was a kitten. I lived somewhere else. I can't remember where.

On this day we wanted to say Thank You to our First Responders. Our men and women serving in Law Enforcement, Fire Fighters, Emergency Medical Personal and our Military - active and the veterans. Thank you so much for your service. Thank you for keeping us safe, helping those in need and protecting our freedom. Thank you for putting your life on the line every day. When we all run away from disaster you run towards it to help. You are our heros.

Greater love has no one than this, to lay down one’s life for one's friends.

Did you feel the earthquake? Did you feel the earth shake?

Mom is so dense sometimes. She just realized something. We live in Iowa and you knowm, yesterday something scary happened in Virginia. The earth shook. I think I felt it!

Mom came home about a quarter past 5 and usually Timo and I come running to the door to greet her. Timo was there (he's not as smart as me). I was nowhere to be found. Mom called me, called me several times. No Mietzi. Mom looked at some of my usual sleeping spots. No Mietzi. Usually, even if I sleep I'm there like after she calls me twice. Mom turned to Timo asking: Where is Mietzi? Finally Mom went into her bedroom, still calling Mietzi Mietzi Mietzi....

There I was in a corner under a bookshelf! It's one of those ladder bookshelves and I was laying on the floor in the meatloaf position. My eyes were open and I moved my head a little bit to look at Mom. I didn't come to her, I didn't meow. I just layed there still. That was very odd. Mom thought I was sick. She started talking to me and petting me. She felt my ears if I had a fever, no fever. Finally I got up and went to the kitchen for supper. Oh, I had also vomited my food on the bedroom floor earlier. That was already there when Mom came home. Maybe a coincidence, maybe I did that when the earthquake started? I don't remember. Mom hadn't even heard about the earthquake yet when she found me acting so strange. She found out on Catster (great place to get the latest news).

And it took her until now to put 2 and 2 together. I'm not making this up. Mom is just a little slow sometimes, MOL. They say there were three aftershocks, the last at 8 pm E.T. Yes, I think I felt the earth shake and I thought it was safer under the bookcase.

Praying for everypurr, everywoof and human to be safe. There are some strange things going on. There was a mag. 7 earthquake in Peru today and then Irene is still coming. Prayers for our friends on the Eastcoast.

Your Mietzi

Timo's dirty ears got me a DDP

Yesterday I wrote about Timo's dirty ears and him throwing up on the kitchen counter. The Diary Lady must have really liked that because today I'm a Daily Diary Pick. Thanks brofur. Diary Lady has a weird taste.

Thanks guys for stopping by and congratulating me. I really appreciate that Big Harry always makes us a nice picture because Mom doesn't know how to make them. I like that he picks action shots of me because that's so me. Wild Mietzi. I had a nice day. Didn't do anything special but I got a can of Fancy Feast. Yummy.

Mom had to buy two new tires for the dumb car on Saturday. Thats a bummer. Do you know how much Fancy Feast she could have bought for us if the car didn't need new tires? Or toys, or cat trees, or fish, or burds?? The possibilities are endless. I don't like that car. Can't she ride a bicycle?

Thanks friends. Love you all!

Ewww Timo - Flojectile and Ear Infection

Brothers can be so disgusting. Do you know what Timo just did? He barfed up a hairball, also known as Flojectile, ON THE KITCHEN COUNTER. Yep. And Mom even called him a good boy. Because it's easy to clean on the counter but hard to clean if he barfs it on the carpet.

I got a big surprise tonight. I was napping on the recliner and the next second I got scooped up and put in my carrier. Yes, I did put up a struggle and it took Mom two attempts. Off to the stupid vet we went. Mom said nothing bad will happen. It's just a recheck because I had my teeth cleaned three weeks ago. I was supposed to come back in two weeks and I thought Mom had forgotten. Darn.

Mom thougth I was very scared at the vet. She had a hard time getting me out of the carrier - I held on with all my strength. And I immediately wanted to go back into the carrier but somebody had closed the door. Darn.

I wasn't really scared. I was just upset that I had to go to the vet again. My teeth don't need cleaning. I'm not due for any shots, what the fluff did you drag me over here for. Well, the vet just wanted to look at my wonderful white and shiny teeth. Gee, I could have emailed her a photo of them.

While we were there we ratted on Timo. We told the doc he's been scratching his ears and shaking his head. There are little brown spots in his ears - Ewww Timo. Since we are on Revolution the Doc thinks it's an ear infection. Timo had an ear infection in April too. So now Timo gets yucky eardrops from a pink bottle.

I don't know why this brother of mine doesn't keep his ears cleaner? I've never had an ear infection or mites. Timo's had both. On top of everything else I have to do around here, I now also have to start cleaning his ears for him.

Germany Christmas, my work is never done.

Hallooo, is this on?

Thank you and Lassie

Last night Mom was watching a movie and there was alot of loud barking. Very annoying. Why does she watch movies with dogs in them? Then there was meowing, so we watched too. It was an old Lassie movie in black and white. This brings back childhood memories for Mom. Lassie had adopted a kitten. But it turned out it was a mountain lion kitten. Feisty little fella. Well, mountain lion baby got reunited with mountain lion Mama and then Lassie decided to adopt a housecat kitten. Sweet. I think this movie was from 1959. Mom wasn't even born back then. I guess we like Lassie because she adopted a kitten. She's OK as far as dogs go I guess.

Mom just came home wet as a dog. Ha. Hair wet, cloths wet, shoes wet. She was out shopping at Wally-World and when she was ready to leave it started to rain very hard. So she went out this one door and went to the parking lot. Then she remembered that she had parked on the other end of the parking lot.

Note to self Mom: go out the door that you came in in. Yes, Mom is the kind of person that can get lost in a phone booth. So she walked across the parking lot in the pouring rain. Mom said it didn't matter. She was soaking wet after two seconds anyway.

I wanted to meow a big thank you to all who celebrated my DDP with me. I had a nice day. Mom got some new wet and dry food for us. Yumm. Thank you for all the comments in my diary.

Big Harry - thank you for making a picture for me. I love it.
Bush Furs - thanks for sending the lovely flowers. Roses are so pretty.
Ingen - thank you for the pink rosetty. It looks good on my fur.
Samsara, Colette, Angels Marrakecha and Misha - thank you for the heart. Sorry that you had to waste two zeelies on me because of Caster fleas.

Stay dry. We have showers today off and on.

Daily Diary Pick, Olive Garden and work work work

I'm a daily diary pick today. Yay! Thank you dear Diary Lady.

Mom finally has a few days off she says. This morning she left for work. I was like: Mom, what are you doing? You're on vacation!

Mom said she just needed to take care of two things in the office. It won't take long. She'll be right back. Her boss is gonna have surgery on Purrsday, which is tomorrow, so she just had to do these two things for her. After the office Mom did not come straight home. Nope. She stopped at Petco which is good because she did like a buffet thing. She bought a few cans of this and a few cans of that. We're looking forward to trying them all. After Petco Mom did not come straight home. Nope.

Next stop was Olive Garden because Mom had gotten hungry from all the working and shopping for cat food. Olive Garden is a Restaurant. I don't know if you have one where you are. I have never been there but I hear they have pawsome meals with shrimp and seafood. I would have so liked to go to lunch with Mom to Olive Garden.

After Olive Garden Mom came straight home. Yay! So I told her I'm DDP and I want to go outside to celebrate. Nope, said Mom. It's 90 and that is not as hot as in Arizona but it's still way too hot. Yesterday and the day before was 99, heat index 115, so we're making progress.

Oh by the way, Arizona: We are just so happy that Newman, Samoa and family have made it OK to Arizona. Looks like they're done unpacking because Newman and Gleek had time to write in their diaries.

I'll ask if I can go outside tonight when it's cooler.
Thanks for the gifts and concats,
your Mietzi

Broken Promise

Mom promised. Yesterday. And now she broke her promise.
This morning I wanted to go out mousing. It was a perfect morning for it. Mom said I can't go because she's gotta go to work. BUT MOOOM, I said, you promised you'd take Purrsday and Friday off and I could go outside alot. Mom told me she's sorry but she just has too much to do. The boss changed the way they do this one project and Mom just needs to get a few things finished. Pah!

So tonight I reminded Mom. Remember, I said, you're taking tomorrow off and I can go mousing all day. Oh Mietzi, sorry, says Mom. She has to go back to work tomorrow too! Oh no. Mom says she is finally almost caught up, just this one project that's been sitting on her desk for awhile and it just needs to get done now. Rats! Mom works with paper. There is always alot of paper on her desk. I LOVE tearing up paper. I told Mom, I'd be happy to go to work with her tomorrow. Won't take me very long and all the paper would disappear. Mom didn't think that was a good idea.

What do you do with a Mom who breaks her promise?
