Bunny Hunting Season is open! I'm taking orders!

I officially declare bunny hunting season open! I was outside yesterday afternoon and I got one! See picture on my page. I brought it back to the patio and Timo was outside too. We were both so excited. Mom made us both go inside and you know what? This morning when I looked, my nice bunny was GONE. I wonder what happened to it?

Anyway, I was telling Mom Wednesday night already that Bunny hunting season is open and I need to get out there and do something about the bunny population. I was out earlier and I saw a big one but Mom picked me up and made me go inside. So I yollered and yelled and meowed until 2:30 in the morning telling Mom to let me back outside. The bunnies are waiting. Didn't work. I got a time out in the laundry room for a few minutes and after that I went to sleep in Mom's bed.

I know where the bunnies are. I'm taking orders! You can get your very own bunny! I'm charging two small cans of wet food and two mouths full of kibble (Timo said I'll HAVE TO ask for kibble for him). The bunny on my page is just an example. Each is a unique original. Actual merchandise may vary in size and color. I'll have the mail Eagle deliver them to you. Don't be surprised if your bunny looks funny. He said he'll have to charge 30% delivery fee.

OK, send your orders in. I'll start filling them tomorrow. Today is a rainy day.

I'm singing in the rain,
I'm hunting in the rain,
hunting yummy bunnies in the rain

to let you all know I'm doing pawsome. My meow has been fully restored and I've been using it A LOT. Thank you all for the purrs and prayers while I was under the weather. I see I'm a diary pick again. I'll come around and thank you all for the last one soon. Mom said she would help me with that soon.

Purrs and much meow,
Mietzi

Could use some purrs and I'm a DDP

Well, I woke up early to use the facilities and I see that I'm a DDP. I think I'm gonna need some purrs please friends and some prayers too.

My meow is not back. Instead Mom dragged me to the vet again yesterday after she was done shopping. She thought I felt hot (Did not. Mom, maybe you were cold. Maybe that's why I felt hot), my nose was dry (I had JUST gotten up from a nap) and I was still coughing (Yes, that is true. I was) Also, there was some stuff coming out of one eye and I was squinting it.

At the vet I got to see our favorite Dr. She is the best one there. She looked at me intently, poked and prodded. Mom said she wanted my temperature checked. (Mom, can you not keep your mouth shut?? She wasn't even going to check it until you said something). Nice vet Lady checked my temp. I was NOT happy with that procedure. Mom said for some reason I don't like coming here. Noooo, not if I'm treated like this. My temperature turned out to be just right for a cat.

So Mom told the long story of what happened to my meow, that I've lost it a week ago, and everything. Vet Lady said I'm old. WHY does every person keep saying that? And they want some blood. Wait a minute, I just gave some on Monday! This time Mom agreed with me. Oh! vet lady said, let me go get those results. Next she wanted to take a picture of my lungs. Mom let them do that. I tried to smile for the camera but I'm just not feeling like smiling at this point.

My photos were done and vet lady and Mom looked at them. Apparently there are some lines in my lungs. Those are the teeny tiny strands where the air moves thru. Deep down in the bronchi or something. Looks like that is irritated.

So now here is the bad news. It could be Asthma, it could be heart worm. I got a shot of Depo-Medrol. I ate a good lunch when I got back home, then I took a loooong nap. I think I got up around 8 pm and ate some supper. Well, bummer. I don't want worms in my heart. There is no room for worms in there. My heart is full of love for Mom and Timo and stupid guest cat too I guess, and for all of my Catster friends.

UPDATE: I'm feeling better! I got up at around 8 and meowed at Mom just like normal. Ate some breakfast too. The medicine is working :)

I found it! I found it! I got my MEOW back!

MIAOW, MEOW, RRREOW, Merouwwww, Meeooww, PRRRT, kkkk, mak, gack!

Oh thank catness, it all works again. I have missed meowing so much. I don't talk as much yet as I used to but some is better than nothing. Where was my meow? I don't know. I think maybe I had forgotten it outside. That's where I first got it back yesterday. My first word was Gack! when Mom said we're going inside again. That's my usual sound of strong disagreement. Mom went outside with me yesterday evening and I ate some grass. Grass is good for you if you have something stuck in your throat. I hadn't been allowed outside since Caturday, since my meow first disappeared.

Once back inside we watched 'Master Chef' and I really started to talk when the contestants were asked to cook steaks.

Mom came home and found a little present on the carpet. A nice, big hairball. Am I ever happy to finally get rid of that thing. Do you know what it feels like to have a hairball stuck in you since Caturday? Eating that grass yesterday sure helped.

There is a lot of noise going on in the condo above us. Somebody new moved in Caturday and I can hear him arrange his furniture and sometimes he drops something heavy. The condo was empty for a month. That was nice. Hey, Caturday is when I lost my meow. Do you think the neighbor moving in could have something to do with it? Did he steal my meow? I bet he did. I better send him his reward. His very own Guest Cat! Sally girl come here a minute sweetie.

MIAOW, MEOW, Merouwwww, Meeooww, Prrrrt,

Update on my meow

(Skip to the last paragraph if you want to know about the reward)
Well, this was only one of the worst days efur! As you know I've lost my meow Friday night. So this morning I was not able to wake Mom up. Usually I meow until she wakes up. Guest Cat offered to help me. Some of you know, we have a guest cat. She's not really ours. She's just visiting. She can't be ours because we have a limit on how many kitties we can have (homeowners association crazyness). I am really NOT supposed to talk about her, so Psssst. So guest cat walked accross Mom's head once at 6:00 am. It was already an hour later than when I usually wake Mom up. I told guest cat that isn't gonna cut it.

She said, don't worry, I have a plan. A minute later Mom shot out of bed, hollering Owie, No Sally, What are you doing? Then she ripped all the sheets of the bed, ran to the laundry room, threw them in the washer. Ran back, got some shamy cloth and cleaning solution and was dabbing like mad at the mattress. Wow, so much activity so early in the morning! Guest Cat was grinning and said to me: See, I told you I can get her up. I thunk at her: Oh girl, are you in trouble. Not only did you pee on the bed, you also tried to cover it up and had your claws out and nicked Mom's leg.

Our breakfast finally got served, only an hour late. I ate a good breakfast. Then I went to lay on the bed with no sheets and no mattress pad and no little flannel sheet for the cats either. Several loads of laundry got done. I had just settled in nicely on the bed with no sheets when Mom grabbed me and stuffed me into the carrier.

Into our Cat Recreational Vehicle we went. It was my first ride in our new CRV and I did not enjoy it. They didn't do any of the cat specifications that we had ordered! No cat beds and cozy blankets, no scratch pad on the walls, no sushi bar in the glove compartment. After a short ride we walked into that dreadful place that smells like many dogs, many cats and some small critters.

So this was a new Vet Doc who we didn't know yet. The one we like was not available until Purrsday. Mom told her about my missing meow. I got checked out and we're none the wiser. Doc said I don't appear to be sick. Could be allergies, could be some bug, something that's going around, a lot of humans are sick too. Did Mom have the windows open lately. Yep, sure did. We went from like 96 down to mid 70s and it was lovely. Did the open windows bother me? Well, no. What kind of a question is that anyway. It's not like I'll go: Excuse me Mother, there is a draft coming thru. Would you mind closing the bedroom window please? Good news: I gained some weight. I'm almost 8 pounds.

Then I got my rabies shot. I needed one anyway. Next they wanted blood because I'm old ( AM NOT!!!) and it's a good idea to check old cat's blood. So Mom said yes, that's OK. They took me to the back where they keep the vampires. They're sending my blood to a Lab to check out. The humiliation to have a dog look at my blood. The Lab will call tomorrow. Back into my carrier and home, sweet home.

Once home I barfed out all my breakfast in three episodes of barfing. Most of it landed on the carpet. Mom needs a new giant bottle of Natures Miracle, MOL. Once I was done retching I hid under the bed. Oh, in the meantime Mom had emailed her boss: "I'll be in when the cat is done throwing up, MOL." Maybe I shouldn't have that rabies shot after all. Mom had lunch at home. All was quiet. I was resting under the bed. Where was guest cat? Hiding under the couch. That's right, she better hide after the pee episode. Timo had a very nice morning watching the lawn care guys mow and trim.

Mom did go to work. Came home late. We all greated her at the door, like we always do. I did meow twice today. But mostly I'm just not speaking with Mom right now. The good news is that I ate supper and I'm not hiding. I participte in the usual family life, lay in all me normal places.

Natalie the NatCat inspired me to offer a REWARD FOR THE RETURN OF MY MEOW. I'm offering one bag of natural cat treats AND your very own guest cat! Guest cats are fun to have around. This one has very unique ideas. I need to think at Mom to set her alarm clock now. We don't want a repeat of this morning.

Purrs,
still silent Mietzi

I've lost my meow

My meow is gone. I open my mouth and nothing comes out. Well, sometimes a little croak comes out. It disappeared Friday night. Mom says I sounded like a horse Friday night. Saturday I couldn't meow at all, today I managed a little meow twice. But I've just been sleeping a lot today. I don't even bug Mom to be let out, which I usually always do - every day. I asked Mom once today to go outside and she sternly looked at me and said I have an owie and cats with owies cannot go outside.

If anypurr finds my meow, could you please send it back by expurress delivery? I miss my meow. I have such a strong voice.

I still eat and I took a cat bath too. My nose is wet, I don't think I have a fever. I'm just more quiet today. I coughed a little earlier. Where could my meow be? It's very strange not to have a meow. I talk a lot usually. Mom says it's very quiet in the house. Timo thinks I've just meowed too much lately and worn it out. Can that happen?

Mom made some kind of an appointment for me for tomorrow morning. I hope I get to do something fun.

Purrs (my purr works just fine),
silent Mietzi

Paw Script: I dictated this with telepathy. Well, that's how I dictate almost all my diaries. Oh please don't send any pressies. Save your zealies. I'm fine, really.

The Opossum Palace and the Swallow

Mom and I have an exiting weekend planed. Tomorrow Mom is invited to go to a new restaurant called The OP. Mom asked her friend if that is The Opossum Place? No, her friend said, it's The Opossum Palace! It's a new restaurant and it isn't even officially open yet. Tomorrow some people get a free entree and drink so that the serves can train how to serve opossums correctly. That Opossum will taste so good.

Then Sunday Mom and I are going to the Opera to see "La Rondine" also know as "The Swallow". Only one ticket came in the mail but that's OK because I will sit in Mom's lap so that I can see the Swallow better. Mom says there will be a lot of singing in that show. Well, yes, Swallows always sing a lot. I wonder how close to the stage we will be sitting. Maybe I could reach out a paw and ..... Whoops, where did that Swallow go?

It's been very hot here, in the 90s all week. I got to go outside yesterday evening for a few minutes. Hope you'll all have a nice weekend.

101, 95, 92, I turned 2 years old

Thank you to everypaw who stopped by with birthday wishes and presents on Caturday. My birthday was okay I guess. It was raining off and on and I couldn't go outside like I had planned. I got nothing on my birthday from Mom.

Sunday, the day after my birthday, I expected lots of presents but I only got special food. A pouch of chicken and shrimp, mmmh. Sunday was super hot here and instead of celebrating my birthday, Mom went to something called the art fest. She only lasted two hours, then it good too hot. Then some neighbors and her grilled and I was NOT invited. Hmph. How rude. Mom says there was two dogs, one of them a puppy, on tie out leashed and they were wrestling and jumping and I would not have enjoyed it. I would have enjoyed the grilled chicken! Anyway, I am two years old now, 1+1 and I feel great. I run zoomies every day like a kitten.

When Mom got home today, I ran outside and something strange was going on. Somebody had left a big hairdryer on and the air was very, very hot. Mom says it's not a hairdryer, it just feels that way. Mom carried me back inside after a minit. Today it was 101 degree here with 111 heat index (whatever that is but I like that number), tomorrow will be 95 and Fryday will be 92. I am expecting more presents from Mom, I do need new mini-mouses. Mom mumbled something about it being too hot to go shopping. Monday and Tuesday flew by. Mom was very busy at work and had to work longer.

I wanted to say Thank Mew to all the furs who gave me something for my birthday. I love you all and appurreciate your thoughtfullness:

Are my eyes getting worse?

Huh? I don't know if it's just me but has the type on Catster gotten smaller? Do I need glasses? Typing a comment on a diary, the print is so small, I think I need to borrow Mom's glasses? Also, has our page gotten smaller and the background bigger? Maybe Catster just wants more space for their ads and they made our pages narrower? I don't see the ads, I use an ad blocker. Anypurr know how to adjust the size of the webpages when you're using firefox?

Lots of questions tonight. I better take a break. I'll strain my eyes.

Listening to Magic Flute & Mom's friend got as sick as a dog

Yesterday afternoon all us cats were taking a nice nap. Mom was complaining that everything had gotten so dirty and she needed to do some cleaning. Well, it wasn't our fault that things were dirty! Everybody knows that cats are very clean animals. Mom cleaned the kitchen and the room that holds her human litter box and bath tub and sink. The whole time classical music was playing on the radio. Mom thought it was calming for us. Well, we enjoyed it. More than scrubbing the toylett anyway, MOL. Mom's gotten into classical music recently. And yesterday they played "The Magic Flute" AND they sang it in German. Now Mom grew up in Germany. So she thought she'd listen, it might be fun. Well, Mom isn't used to listening to Opera. Even tho they sang German, Mom understood very litte (maybe it was just because she was scrubbing the toylett at the same time?). Some of it was spoken dialog. That was better to understand. I was listening too, because one of the characters is a BIRDCATCHER.

Today Mom went bike riding with some friends in waterworks park. They got off to a good start, then they stopped after a mile to talk about which way to go. There was a Port-A litterbox for humans there and one of her friends went to use it. She came back out and said that she is sick. Really, really, really sick with cramps and things. Then she disappeared back into the Port-A litterbox for humans and she didn't come back out for half and hour! Really. Mom and her friends didn't want to leave her alone in case she would pass out or something, and she kept saying she'll be out in a few minits. Finally she came back out, feeling sick as a dog, and she said she texted her hubby and he's coming. Mom and her friends rode on for another six miles. They saw a cormorant bird, a bunny, a redwinged blackbird. They heard a woodpecker pecking wood. An eagle flew overhead. A helicopurr flew overhead giving rides because there was some kind of festival going on that they drove by. There were lots of humans outside, biking, walking, roller-blading. It was a purrfect day, except we didn't get to go along. And except the poor lady that got sick.

We hope you had a happy weekend. Why can't Mom have tomorrow off like last Monday? Not fair. We need more holidays.
