THE RECOVERY OF MY STASH

February 27th 2011 11:06 am

Mommy got out her metal tape measure with a hook on it's end again and used it to retrieve "stuff" I had stashed under the stove and refrigerator. This time she found out that I had a very big stash as follows:

1. 34 milk jug rings;
2. 2 balls;
3. 2 hair scrunchies;
4. 1 bumblebee toy;
5. 1 crocheted toy with a bell inside;
6. 1 pair of scissors (yep, I stole her little pair of
scissors that she uses to cut open stubborn bags of food
be it our dry or her cereal or fruit . . she was looking
all over the house for that. She had a hunch that I was
the culprit for its disappearance.

And that's all. I use the 'fridge and the stove as goal posts in my private little game of football. Sometimes I steal Mommy's stuff and use that as a ball too as noted above. If I can carry it in my mouth and bat it around, it's a toy!

Lastly, I've been watching the birds a lot this weekend. They were really chirping a lot this morning. I feel that spring is on its way. That'll be pawsome as I'm tired of the winter.

Purrs & Breeps to all,

Landy

BETWEEN TWO DOORS

First of all, I give my belated concats to Bail and Merl for their DDP's this week!

Secondly, Happy Friday! And indeed today will be that as we're expected to have temps rise into the mid 70's! I know Mommy will turn off the heat today and purrhaps she'll leave us an open window we can enjoy while she's at work.

Lastly, I got stuck between the front door and screen door Wednesday night. Mommy came home from work and brought in some stuff from her car. She had to go back outside to put some junk mail in the recycle bin, and that's when I stepped outside the first door and the screen door closed behind her thus closing me in between both doors. Was she ever surprised to find me there when she opened the screen door! Of course, I was okay. I'm just not happy because I didn't get to accomplish my great escape.

Well, that's about it from me.

Purr & Breeps to all,

Landy

BIRD-WATCHING BROS

Bail and I were having fun early this afternoon. A couple of two-tone gray birdies were sitting in the honeysuckle bush outside our kitchen window. Mommy said they're called "finches". Then she tried to immitate our bird calls, and Bail turned around and gave her a funny look. I paid her no mind and kept watching the finches.

Also, today is supposed to be warmer. It is that except we didn't see much sunshine.

Anyway, I'm going to keep it short. I want to take a nap before dinner is served.

Landy

WOO-HOO! I'm DDP again this week! Except I'm the only family member up there this time. Thank you Diary Gal for looking my way again!

Also, it's FRIDAY! And it's pay Friday for Mommy. Maybe she'll have a chicken pawty tonight in my honor! I surely hope so 'cause I LOVE chicken!

Also, I thank my following friends for their kind words, comments, and gifts:

1. TATE - yummy shrimpie;
2. BUDDIE & Family - cool comment;
3. SKYLAR & Family - lovely heart;
4. HOOCH & Crew - purrty blue rosette;
5. CHAI LATTE & THE SF GIRLS - cool comment;
6. VIOLET - cool comment;
7. ANGEL PEPPER - lovely heavenly star
8. SERENA - cool comment.

Lastly, Mommy told me that Sampy had a strange thing happen to him last night. He was rolling in circles and back and forth while biting himself as if he had the worst itch ever. He's doing fine now without any more episodes. And he doesn't have fleas or any sores on him. We don't know what this was all about and pray it doesn't happen again.

Well, I must go now to enjoy chillaxin' on my special day.

Purrs & Breeps,

Landy

P.S. Groove on our love song music box.

NAIL TRIM

I got a nail trim this morning, and I didn't give Mommy too much of a problem. She managed to get both of my front paws. I didn't act like Sampy did when he got his. He squirmed and tried to grab the nail clippers out of her hand with his teeth. He also made his hissed off noises, "kak, kak, kak". Three "kak's" in a row means he's pretty well annoyed. All in all, she did manage to trim his front nails and a couple back ones.

Now, the rest of us need trims. I don't know if Mommy can do that today as her left wrist is hurting after Sampy's squirming around.

As to the new cat tree, I love scratching on it and leaping into it. I haven't tried sleeping in it yet. Maybe when it's warmer. Right now in the cold weather,I prefer to sleep in something with a lot of blankies on it such as Mommy's bed or the fleece doughnut bed.

Anyway, that's about it from me. Purrs & Breeeeeeeeeeeeps to all,

Landy

Hey everycat! Check out my no. 9 pic! Mommy caught me coming down from "my" kitchen cabinet perch above the "fridge". I can't believe she actually got this one! WOW!

Anyway, I got to go. I'm keeping this one short and sweet.

Purrs & Breeps for a good day,

TODAY WE CELEBRATE ORIENTALS!

Today, Catsterland celebrates Orientals! WOO-HOO! "bout time I got some recognition! Yep, I got some (purrhaps 1/2) Oriental in me; the wedge-shaped head, the big ears, the dainty kitten-like footsies, the green eyes, and of course, the playfulness and chattiness too!

Also, our old cat tree sits in a snow bank on the front lawn. Boy oh boy do I miss it! Of course, I like the new one too! Ah, such is life, turn, turn, turn to everything there is a season! I'm thinking that maybe some strays or even birdies will want to check out the old tree before the trashman comes tomorrow morning.

Lastly, some of us got our Valentine's Day pics up. Mommy's trying to do this before the person from the Geek Squad comes out to hook up our new catputer today.

Well, that's it. I gotta run.

Purrs & Breeps,

Landy

THE BED-IN

January 27th 2011 3:04 pm

We lost power at 8:00 p.m. last night because of the nasty, heavy snowstorm. At 8:30 p.m. the power came back on for 5 minutes then flickered a few times, and completely went off until 4:30 p.m. today. That's almost 24 hours without heat or electricity. The temp in the computer room (that's where the thermometor is) was 45 degrees. BURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

To keep warm last night and off and on during the day today, we had a "bed-in". All of us piled into the bed that was covered with two blankies, one poly-fill comforter,two down comforters, a fleece throw and a snuggie. I was the one who kept crawling under the covers and snuggling up to Mommy to keep warm. Sampy, Bail and Merl all laid in a circle on top of the snuggie. Of course, Cam, had her heating blankie the whole time.

Mommy also missed work because she wanted to watch us and the house to make sure nothing serious happened. Sampy has a heart condition, and she was afraid that too much cold would hurt him. Also, Cam with her old age, was a big concern.

Lastly, because Mommy couldn't cook anything, she ordered a pizza. After she ate the pizza, of course, we had another bed-in from 4:00 to 4:30 and that's when the juice came back on.

All in all, losing power is a big time bummer especially when it happens during the winter. That's why none of us are too fond of snow around here. Snow is nice for winter photography and that's it.

We purray that this doesn't happen again this year. It's really odd that we didn't lose power last year during those "Snowmageddons". I suppose the power lines were weakened from it and they snapped last night which was our first big storm of 2011.

That's about it in a nutshell. I hope none of our friends had to go through this power outage.

Purrs & Breeps,

Landy

SEVERAL SUBJECTS

First of all, I blog about my wishing my bro, Merl a happy birthday and Sampy for his DDP which both fell on Friday the 14th! Way to go dudes!!!

Secondly, I ask "why" does this so-called person who lives at the end of our block (as told by neighbor to Mommy) let their sweet little orangie kittie roam the streets all the time and even in the cold weather. We belive they've let him roam also in the snowy weather as we've seen pawprints in the snow in our yard and on our front stoop. We are speculating those are his footie prints as he's been the only cat we've seen hanging around lately.

About two weeks ago, Mommy and I spotted him (yes it's a boy)cruizing the neighbor's yard. I tried to chase him from window to window just like I do with squirrels.

A little before that, Mommy was on her way to go somewhere and he was on our front stoop and let her touch him. He wears a collar too, but Mommy didn't get a look at it.

And to top it all off, those so & so's let this kitty roam the streets on Halloween. In fact, he was walking amongst some trick or treaters who stopped by our house. It looked like he was trick or treating himself. These people should know better than to let their cat out on Halloween of all days.

Some humans never cease to amaze me. Even those x-owners who dumped me outside two years ago. I'm glad Mommy took care of me and even Cammie Rose for letting me eat some of her food when I was starving.

Anyway, I'm getting off my soapbox now. I had to vent about these type of people who don't deserve pets.

Lastly, Mommy's going to go to Petco and check out their cat trees again.

Purrs & Breeps,

Landy
