Two years at home

Two years ago today Daddy brought me home as a foster. I made him adopt me 6 months later.

Two years.... wow, doesn't seem like that long. About as long as Sarge and Lena were here before me. We've come to an understanding and get along as well as can be expected. Daddy didn't plan on having 3 cats but sometimes life works out better than you planned.

If you've been reading Sarge's blog you'd know Daddy lost that one job but found another one. He's been there 15 full weeks now, longer than before. And he's closer to home.

I've taken to sleeping next to his pillow at night. I still hate to be held. Daddy set up half a cat carrier with a knitted scarf inside for padding for everyone to sleep in. But it's a trap! When I'm in there he tries to trip my claws! He usually gets one done before I squirm away. But it shows. When I made biscuits on him last time it didn't hurt!

Two years... two happy years.

Vet trip!

I had to go to the vet with Lena. He was nice and let me stay in the bottom half of my carrier for the most part. I behaved myself and even purred a little. He said I was doing fine and I let him trim my claws. I didn't fuss at all even though I fight like a monster when Daddy tries it. It may be a regular thing; me going to the vet to get my claws trimmed. Wait, that's bad isn't it?

Hooray. I'm a DDP again! That's 2 for me, 0 for both my sibs! LOL

I got some nice rosettes from my friends

The family of KARMA KITTY, CHARLIE CLARENCE, PUNKIN POOH , BOBBI BOI
"YAY PEPI,
BIG CONCATS ON YOUR DDP TODAY smile
WE HOPE YOU HAVE A VERY HAPPY
AND FUN FILLED DAY.
LOVE, KARMA, CHARLIE, PUNKIN, BOBBI AND SHELLY"

Vivien
"Congrats from all of us on being a diary pick today, Pepi! Enjoy your day in the diary spotlight."

The family of Luke, Tully, Sammy and Natasha
"You are a very cute tuxie, Pepi! Concats on being a DDP today - hope you get lots of extra love and treats to celebrate!
Love and purrs, Luke, Tully, Sammy, and Natasha"

This is so awesome! Rosettes, a letter, new friends! Today is my day!

Another update

Daddy is in his third week at the new job. He leaves a little earlier and gets home a little later than before. He does seem happier now that things are back to normal. When he gets home I use the scratching post and he tells me I'm a good kitten. I'm going to be 2 soon. Isn't that pawsome?! I also like to sleep on Daddy's clothes when he changes out of his work clothes. Not much else going on. I like to sleep with Daddy when he goes to bed. I can stay there for a while until he moves and I wind up getting kicked off. He doesn't like it when I sleep between his legs. Live is good.

Except for one thing. Daddy doesn't want me jumping on the tables anymore. He has a squirt bottle. All he has to is reach for it and I get off the table and run.

Sad news about my fur family

Daddy did some more looking at the Almost Home Foundation. My biological sister Skeeter is still available for adoption. Worse, Dad mis-heard about what happened to me as a kitten. You see, originally Daddy thought Momma was abused while pregnant then rescued. But she was abused after we were born and I and my sister and brother had to watch a mean human bury our momma ALIVE! A kind human saved all of us and Almost Home helped my momma get better.

So as it turns out, I was a stray too. It could be why I don't like being held and have some different ways of showing affection. It doesn't change what's important though. It doesn't change that I'm in a loving and safe furever home.

Please, if anyone is in the far NW burbs of Chicago and wants a sweet cat, follow the link above. Skeeter deserves a good home. We're at the maximum number of cats here so we can't take her in. She turns 2 years old in 2 months. Don't you think that a loving home would make a pawsome birthday present?

Today Daddy's friend came over to help him trim my claws. I hated it. I mean H-A-T-E-D it. I ran around and fought as if I was going to an adoption show. I got wrapped up in Daddy's towel and he trimmed my claws while his friend held me. I still fought and he accidentally got my paw pad too! Ouch!! He feels awful about it, but I forgave him eventually. They got all my claws then I got a belly rub for a while. I hid for a while and now I'm better. Everything is back to normal. I hope I won't have to do this again for a very long time.

Well first I want to pay my respects to Calvin ~ Kneed On. It's been a few weeks, but Daddy has been busy. First he got a new computer which is quieter and has lights. It's also shorter which makes it hard to climb on.

The bad news is Daddy lost his job a few days ago. He promises he'll do everything he can to keep us together. His parents can help and there's some money saved. He's going to be stressed and I want to help him any way I can. We're a family and we'll get through this together.

I got a Rossette from Cassidy. She's a precious kitty who had a horrible past before getting adopted by a loving family. I hope that with time Cassidy will overcome her past. Even if she can't, she knows she has a loving and safe home.

Thank you so much for your generous gift of my furever star. It meant a lot to me. Thank you for helping make my day with your gift. I am happy with my home but scarred furever, I fear.
Love,
Cassidy

Mama got adopted!

Daddy was checking out the the success stories on Almost Home Foundation to cheer him up on a Friday afternoon and discovered my momma was adopted by a nice family last year. Her new family loves her very much and she's not afraid of people after all the abuse she suffered. We're all very happy for her. I wonder if she would recognize me after all this time. Would I know her (I get very angry when I see other cats apart from my sibs, it's why I never did well at the adoption shows)? Regardless it's great news. Her name is Snacks now, but she'll always be Precious Mama to us. I hope her family puts her on caster so we can be friends and we can check up on each other.

Thanks for everything Mama. Thank you , family for adopting her. We love all of you!!

Strange cat! Strange cat!

OK, it's just a normal morning for me, watching out the patio window, getting some sun when this big strange cat just comes up and rolls over RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! He was black and white. Daddy has seen him around before over the years (he knows the cat is a him because he saw him spraying once). I couldn't believe it. I start going crazy. Get out of here! This is MY house! MINE! But he ignores me and continues sunning himself on the patio ledge in front of the window. Sarge and Lena noticed him and came over to help encourage him to leave. But he just ignores us. Daddy tried to settle us down and told us the kitty wasn't doing anything wrong. He went outside to pet the kitty and that's when that other cat ran away. There's rumors of a cougar in our city and Daddy hopes this other cat will be OK. I don't care as long as he stays away from me!
