Happy Birthday Dakota! We had a great family celebration and Busterbear joined me. There was a cupcake with one candle which was lit and I wanted to touch it so bad. Busterbear and I got extra treats too! I am a Big Boy now, Mama says!

I was Home Alone all day Saturday of Labor Day Weekend while my family went to a family gathering in Austin Area! Busterbear went to a neighbor's house, who is a dog groomer and keeps dogs, to spend the night.
Mama called all the vets etc. who board cats and all said that I would have to stay from Saturday night until Tuesday morning. Mama said that she just couln't do that to me and that she just couldn't be without me that long.
I was a good boy and didn't tear down the curtains, eat plants, hang myself on an electric cord, rewire the computers or get electrocuted biting wires. The house was intact! I was a good boy!

It seems that I am a bionic cat! They say I have a microchip in me? Now where would that be? This microchip seems to tell someone who I am and where I belong among other things? Gee! What's this world coming to! I know who I am and where I belong.

My new home is so amazing! My dream now is to get a harness and retractable leash like Buster Bear's. Buster Bear gets harnessed every afternoon around 8 PM and gets to walk Daddy all around the mobile park here. Buster Bear knows everyone and everyone knows Buster Bear. Even when we are out in the community they ask where do you live and what kind of dog do you have? Response: Black poodle? I thought so. Everyone who calls us asks how is Buster? No one else! Buster has so many dog friends in the park and especially "Rascal" who he gets to stay in the same cage with when they are boarded at the same time. Buster also goes to Carol's in the park and gets groomed and sometimes stays along with other dogs with Carol instead of being boarded. Carol also put a bandana on Buster which Buster sure loves and growls at anyone who tries to take it off of him. Buster has kitty friends too in the park I'm sure. If I could just get a harness and leash like Buster, I could go walking every day and have many friends like Buster! They just tell me "you can't go you are a housecat."

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.
2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.
3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.
4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainments, but I have only you.
5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.
6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.
7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.
8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.
9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.
10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.
Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them. Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God's critters.

My favorite activity on Tumbleweed, our street, is bird watching. I spend hours hunkering down and dodging the birds flying low. Mama says I look like I am watching a tennis match. Wow! we have so many! There are mourning doves, cardinals, blue jays, mockingbirds, titmouse and all kinds of sparrows. Plus there are hundreds of hummingbirds. I especially like the birdie's feeding time which seems to be early morning and late evening. Now if I could just be out there I could catch me one for sure!

Well I have been here over a week and had a chance to get into the routine here. That is the new routine since I disrupted the old one. Buster Bear, our poodle, gets let out in the middle of the night when he starts whining. Someone always jumps up and lets him out. This is great! I always tag along and lurk in the shadows. Finally, I had my chance!! Daddy got up and did not notice me behind him so I slipped out with Buster Bear. After Buster Bear came in it was noticed that I was missing. Of course! It was a full moon and I was checking out my new surroundings. I kept darting under neath a little building on the property and no one could find me. Mama is now up with flash lights everywhere looking. I come out to see her and get caught. Oh well, that was great fun!

My family dog, Buster Bear, was the "Dog of the Day" on Dogster for Saturday July 5, 2008. We are so honored to be featured on Dogster and Catster! This is such fun! You can visit Buster here: http://www.dogster.com/dogs/15634
Buster is quite a dog! I am glad to be his housemate and in his family! Buster is well known here in our neighborhood, Three Hills Mobile Park and I doubt there is anyone who does not know who he is and where he lives. Buster is an old hand at Dogster and has many friends and gifts! Buster has many photos as well, a portfolio if you will and also a slideshow if our Mama gets around to adding it. Perhaps someday she will make these for me too!
Buster and I got off to a slow start as he was not used to cats and has been top dog of this household for 8 years. Buster thought cats were to lunge at when Daddy took you walking. And I certainly have not lived with a dog before. We did not associate with the dogs much at the shelter but we could certainly hear them when they were vocal. It was nip and tuck for a few days and we often had to be corralled or put in "time out". Believe me "Time Out" is NO fun! Neither of us liked that! Now I am confident enough to jump out at Buster when he walks by and he just gives me a disgusted look and keeps on going. I don't think he enjoys cat, ER, kitten games much! But we have been caught lying together or kissing at times. Now if we could just get the camera to catch how we really love each other when no one is around!
Our Mama and Daddy too, are so proud of us and say things went much better than expected.....

What about dogs? My family consists of a toy poodle 8 yrs old named Buster Bear who was Dog of the Day this week on Dogster. Why can't we add dogs to our family on Catster???? Buster is my family! Buster and I are still working out our pecking order here but Buster of course thinks everything here belongs to him. I have such a sweet personality and am so friendly that I think Buster will get over his being so possessive of his things and people. At least he doesn't care much for mice and balls, thank goodness! I guess Buster finds me a bit too frisky and rambunctious at times as I have just enough kitten and siamese in me to be very entertaining to the family! They say I am just too cute to suit Buster!

They were so worried at the shelter that I would be stressed moving to a home and moving in with an 8 yr. old toy poodle, Buster Bear. Well I fooled them! I took over this household. I am enjoying the stress diet though, thanks Animal Shelter!

I am so happy to be rescued from the animal shelter although it was a great place and I had many friends there. It is nice to have a home and family and to belong! Thanks to Freeman Fritts Animal Shelter, Kerrville, Texas!
