The Cat Tree

Mama read on Catster that indoor cats need a cat tree. We had been looking at them and also looking for ways to get me exercise. Boy was I surprised. I love my cat tree and practically live in it. I take my naps in it. Mama says I just cuddle up in it and smile. Plus I can sharpen my nails on the post and hide in my condo while still being with and watching my family. Finally my own place.

A Great Birthday

Yes, it was great! I got a new mouse who is sheepskin and has a pouch. My mouse smells funny but Mom says it is catnip. Catnip? A new experience and I am approaching him cautiously, sneaking up on him and circling wide around him. I am not normally so shy but all the attention focussed on me and singing to me was overwhelming. Mom will get my pictures here soon. Purrs.....

Dakota is 2 years old

Wow! How time flies! It seems like only yesterday that I came to live with mom and dad and Busterbear.......I will have a party tonight with cake and candles and a new toy. Wish you were here.......

Kitty Cation

I am fed up with Kitty Cation my mama calls them. It was much more fun when I got to go to the coast too. Now they have leased out the condo and still have the use of it sometimes. The furnishings are not ours now and Buster Bear and I don't get to go. We are taken to a large vet's in the area that boards and grooms etc. We just got back from a Cation last week. The second Cation this summer. The Cations seem to get longer and longer. Plus you never know what they are going to do to you while you are there. This time I got my nails trimmed. What a bummer! At least Buster got to spend some time in the same cage with his neighborhood friend for a playday when Rascal spent a day there. I don't even get to see Buster because I am in the kitty room in a kitty condo. All us kitty's can do is look at each other. The dogs get to go outside 3 times a day. I will keep you updated on this. Dakota On A Diet?

Oh no! My trip to the vet for my shots was disastrous! The vet told my Mom that I am too fat. Getting a belly! I am ruining my sleek body and appearance! Mom must cut back on my food! I only eat Science Diet as prescribed. Oops! Mom forgot to tell them about my treats! Well I have been cut back on those too! It's a cruel world out there....

My Elderly Neighbor

I have an elderly neighbor across the street that I just seem to adore even though I have never met him in person. I get up at 5 AM and go watch him back his car out and go meet his buddies at the coffee shop. Then around 7 AM I go back to the window to see him return safely. My neighbor asked my Mom if she would like to sell that cat!

Do Cats Get Arthritis?

Busterbear now has arthritis. He does not like the cold weather and wears sweaters and stays wrapped in blankets indoors. There are also no walks for him on bad days. I love the cold as I have on a big fur coat all year around. I sleep on a/c vents in the floor all summer. Moma says I am going to freeze myself. Do cats get arthritis?

Dakota and Buster On Vacation

Buster and I got to go on vacation to our condo in Rockport. This was my first trip! I loved the condo with windows looking over the golf course. There were many birds there. Buster went for walks there and met some other resident dogs....

Buster's Birthday Party

Buster is 9 years old. Buster had nine candles on his cake! WOW! I went to Buster's BD party.

Dakota is One Year Old!

Happy Birthday Dakota! We had a great family celebration and Busterbear joined me. There was a cupcake with one candle which was lit and I wanted to touch it so bad. Busterbear and I got extra treats too! I am a Big Boy now, Mama says!
