Going away is fun, but the linen closet is best

Mom and dad decided to take me on a road trip. Since it was daytime when we left (and my usual sleepie-time), I pretty much slept in my carrier the whole way down. When we got to the new place, I was excited, because I always like new stuff. I had a flight of steps to run up and down and lots of space to run around and play. I jumped in and out of the chest of drawers and played with my string and toy mice. After a couple of days I was ready to go home though. I never really found a routine for myself and after the excitement wore off, I was craving my usual routines at home.

Luckily M&D didn't love the place either, so we left early. We left in the late evening and I paced around from the back seat to the front seat of the car for 4 hours, meowing and talking. I was restless and wanted to get home! When we got home I ran to the front door and couldn't wait for M&D to let me in fast enough. After a quick supper, I made a beeline for the guest bedroom. When M&D saw me curled up on the guest bed, they guessed that I wanted some peace and quiet. Mom opened the linen closet door and I jumped in really fast and breathed a big sigh of relief....AAAHHHH......HOME sweet.... LINEN CLOSET!!!

Watching my Pees and Poos

Now I have a UTI. It's because of all the yucky medicine I have to take to control all the other medical problems I have. So I had to go on antibiotics which makes me have runny poos. Mom gives me acidopholous powder in my food to try to encourage the good flora to thrive even though the antibiotics are killing everything in my digestive tract! The antibiotics make me sleepy. I have spent a good deal of time sleeping in the linen closet among the towels on the third shelf. It is a very cozy place to sleep. You should try it sometime.

The antibiotics must be making me feel better generally though because yesterday I felt so good I was tearing around playing with the red mouse and making all sorts of thumping sounds on the dining room table.

THE RED MOUSE

I just love to play. Yesterday mom opened the special drawer where my special toys are kept. I came running as soon as I heard the drawer opening and ran up the scratchie pad ramp and into the drawer. First I dragged out the long string and marched into the dining room and hopped up to the dining room table. After I got tired of playing with the string, I retrieved my favorite toy of all time: THE RED MOUSE. I jumped up onto the dining room table and started playing with THE RED MOUSE by tumbling around and batting it up in the air. I turned somersaults and flipped myself over and flipped THE RED MOUSE around. Sometimes I knocked THE RED MOUSE off the table and I would jump down, retrieve it and jump back up and start all over again. I made a lot of racket. It was so much fun!

This morning we played attack the blanket after mom made her bed.

Fashion house of pain

Monday morning Mom hijacked me and put me in the cat carrier. Oh no, and I never got to eat any breakfast. This wasn't going to be good. I protested a little but that never does any good. We drove out to the vet and they did the usual poking and prodding. Yeech, that place smells so bad. I remember it from the time I was very, very sick and almost died, and I dislike returning intensely. I'm always a really good girl though (at least that's what all the vet techs and vets and my mom says) but when they poked my back leg this time, I was really upset. I even hissed a little. The vet tech warned my mom that I might bite her. I don't think I like that vet tech...what a stupid thing to say. Even if I was REALLY SUPER upset I wouldn't bite my mom. On the other hand, I might scratch a little...

When the torture was over I got a red bandage on my leg to match my collar. Even at the vet, we have to maintain our sense of fashion.

Deep Frozen Nip

No sunny spots today or yesterday. We got some rain because of the hurricane. Yesterday evening I had so much energy, I was tearing around the house like I was possessed. Everytime mom opens the freezer I jump into it hoping she'll give me some catnip. I know its kept in the freezer. I'm not stupid. If I could open the can myself I would, but I have to get mom to give me some. 9 times out of 10 she doesn't....she tells me I can't have catnip EVERYTIME the freezer door opens. If I stand in the freezer long enough my fur gets really cold.....mom likes to touch my cold fur....she says it feels good.

Another Sunny Day

So yesterday evening dad helped subcu me. As usual I jumped away before mom could pull the needle out and this time it scratched me a little. Mom noticed that I was "leaking" a little blood around the scruff of my neck. She fussed over me and petted me but I wasn't worried. I was kind of quiet all evening though. I mostly hung out in my box on the dining room table. Though mom and I did play with the long string for awhile.

Today is a nice sunny day and I'm spending my time wisely: napping in the sunny spots.

Hump Day

Okay so two more days till the weekend when I get to hang out with mom all day and she doesn't have to leave...boy do I hate when she leaves. I usually just stop whatever I am doing and stare at her. I don't say a word and I don't move. She stands at the front door telling me she loves me and to be a good girl and have a good day and guard the house while she's gone, and I just stare. I don't really like saying goodbye.

This morning I got brushed. I never stay still while I'm being brushed. I move all over the place and make mom chase me with the brush, but it feels good. Lately I've been having a hairball problem so mom has been brushing me extra much. I've been getting up early in the morning and turning a few somersaults in the bedroom. I figure this might encourage the hairball to come out. Oh, I also hack and cough, but I'm not having much luck.
