This furry handsome boy: Benson is in dire need of a new furrever home! He is located in northern Idaho. He appears to be quite healthy. He is front paw declawed. His human furmily fell on hard times and Benson is running out of options.
I just wanted to help spread the word.

When mommy went to bed last night I jumped up to join her, as usual. She tucked me under the covers and then she hollered at daddy: "C'mere and smell this cat! He smells like baby powder!" Mommy was worried that perhaps the smell of baby powder was some peculiar symptom of an illness or something 'cause she didn't think we had any in the house.
Daddy, dutifully came in and sniffed me. By this time I was feeling a wee bit put out by all the sniffing, btw. And said: "Yep, he smells like baby powder. He must have gotten some on him when I used it after my shower."
Seems daddy did have baby powder in the house. And judging from the smell of my head, which continues to linger today, I must have found a spot on the floor and rubbed my head around in it. All I can say is, it could be worse. I could like to roll around in stinky stuff like some doggies do! MOL!
Mom actually thinks it's terribly cute that I smell like baby powder, although she worries whether there might be ingredients in it that aren't good for me.

Fur the first day of Spring we had a huge snowstorm! We had five inches already by the time mommy, a.k.a.: "slug-a-bed" finally got up this morning and it continued to fall most of the day. Blech. I hate snow!
And yes, I am a very indiscriminate eater! :~) Sissy Em threw up on the end table by the big chair in the living room, down the side of it and onto the floor. Mommy saw that and she cleaned it all up. But what mommy missed was that Sissy had furst barfed up a "log" of barely digested chow on the top of the back of the chair. Mommy didn't see that until she saw me eating it! What I don't understand though is why mommy said: "Oh Edgar! Gross!!" MOL!
That's all the news that's fit to print and even some that isn't! ;~)

While mommy was watching the Academy Awards tonight and daddy was in on the catputer there was a sudden loud "BOOM" from the kitchen! Mommy shouted "what the he**?" And ran to the kitchen, and daddy jumped up and headed that way too...
Just as mommy was entering the kitchen she encountered me, the HERO, running out of the kitchen to warn mommy and daddy and sissy Em that a burglar had tried to break into the kitchen and had knocked over the trash can, but I had scared him off!
I also tried to warn mommy and daddy, as I headed fur the guest room at a quick trot with my tail held low, that more burglars might be on the way and they should call 911! Then I scooted under the bed.
I'm not exactly sure why they both started laughing when they got to the kitchen and saw the trash can knocked over on the floor and trash spilled across the room... maybe it was with joy because I had scared off the criminal?
But I definitely think I was heroic tonight... Oh, and I came out from under the bed about an hour later, just to make sure effuryone was still safe!

I'm not much of a tag player, but I got tagged by a good furriend, Simon In the St. Paddy's Day tag game, so I'll play! :~) He asked me...
Q.-Are you Irish?
A.-Um, I don't think so... far as I know I was born in Oklahoma.
Q.-Do you and /or your family celebrate St. Patrick's Day?
Q.-Will you wear Green?
A.-Not if I can help it! MOL!
Q.- What will you wear?
A.- Well if I have to wear something green, then I'll put on my Hazel Lucy hat again! ;~)
Q.-Do you like Corned Beef and Cabbage?
A.-Is it food? 'Cause if it's food, then I probably like it! :~D
Q.-Do you believe in leprechauns?
A.-Do they believe in me? MOL? Nah, I dunno nothin' 'bout leprechauns.
A.-Well, guess I never met one. Unless! Hey! Was that green thing with the hoppy legs that I brought in the house and put in my water dish last year (note from mommy: grasshopper) a leprechaun????
Q.-What would you like to find at the end of the rainbow?
A.-I know what I will find: Mommy and daddy and a big ol' bed to sleep on and all the ham and other good things I want to eat furrever and ever!
I'm not going to tag anyone furriends. If you like tag and you want to play and you read this diary, then consider yourself tagged!

Yesterday the sun was shining here in Enid, Oklahoma and the temperatures were in the 60's. When mommy came home fur lunch she opened the door to the back yard, just in case Emily or I wanted to roam.
Then when mommy ate her turkey sandwich she noticed there was no orange boy at her feet insisting on a bite! She glanced out of the window and there I was, on the far side of the back yard, sunbathing and rolling around! :~)
When I came back in I had dried grass all over me! MOL! Mommy had to run get the camera to take a couple of pictures. But they are not worth posting. Dried grass on an orange boy just doesn't show up too well. But I had a great "roll in the hay!" Can't wait fur the warm weather to be here all the time!
*Sigh* We still haven't figured out the solution to this diary-reading dilemma. Since my last diary about it, all that is happened is we take a day or two or three off and then we come back and try to read every single one we have missed! AND now we feel furry bad about being two or three days late in commenting on some important news. :~(
Plus, it means we are behind on reading and responding to pmails, thanking kitties fur rosies, and our participation in groups is just pitiful!!! I can't remember the last time we were ARGs! (We were neffur any good at being detectives so we just had to be criminals all the time! MOL!).
I'm still purring fur mommy to win the lottery so she can spend full time at home with us and keep us up with effurry one of our beloved furriends on Catster.
happy that Spring is coming purrs,

I was overwhelmed to learn that the beautiful Samoa named MOI as an honorary dreamboat! The furry bestest thing about this honor is that it is "honorary" in memory of her brofur, the one, the only, Calvin.
Calvin was my hero. He was adorable, funny, kind, and such a good pal to so many. To be told that I could in any way remind Miss Samoa of Calvin, well, I am deeply humbled.
Mommy was so excited about my honor that she said I had to have a new portrait photo to try to show at least a little "dreaminess" quality. I wasn't too thrilled about this part, cause she took like eleventy fifty thousand photos trying to get a good portrait. And I got darned sick of her following me around with that camera and the flashy light thingie going off in my face!
The photo she finally chose, my new main photo, was only captured with the assistance of daddy who was waving around an open can of Fancy Feast above my head! MOL! Mommy thinks it's odd how my eyes came out so copper-colored looking in it because they don't look that color most of the time. *shrugs* Of course they've never been the beautiful green that my hero, Calvin's were.
In other news, one of us, me or Em, threw up right in our water fountain the other morning. Ick! Daddy got a gold star fur cleaning that one up because mommy was on her way out the door to work. Daddy doesn't usually do too well with throw up (makes him gag).
And, we tried to catch up on diaries today but we think Catster might be acting kinda funny… We saw all the same entries on page 7 of our furriends' recent updates as what we saw on page 8. And this was true even after mommy left Catster and came back and refreshed the page. Now sometimes we will see the same entries on a later page that we just read the page before (although usually we go through them backwards) but that is because kitties are writing new diaries that are bumping the older ones further down the list. There is no explanation I can think of for it working the other way around. :~/

Mommy asked daddy to go to PetSense today to get some kitty treats and toys fur some kitties we know. And she told daddy that he was absolutely required to ask about Nicholas! Mommy has been hesitant to call all the time since she knew she couldn't give him a furrever home and she had made the people at the store think she had found him a home but that didn't work out when we found out he couldn't be in a house with other kitties, or at least not girl kitties.
So daddy asked. Do you think daddy called mommy at work to tell her what he found out? No. Do you think he even told her when she furst got home? No. Finally mommy asked, all sad, "So how is Nicholas?"
Guess what????????? He's been adopted and has a furrever home!! A nice lady in a nearby town adopted him! She has a little doggie. Nicholas had a doggie in his original home. Well daddy said the PetSense lady said that when the lady who adopted Nicholas got him home she turned him loose in the house and he and the doggie got along right off the bat! They supposedly like to nap together in the sun! :~)
Isn't that just the bestest news effur??? Mommy is going to call PetSense tomorrow (and see if she can talk to Jo) and give them her name and number and my Catster page address to see if the lady who adopted Nicholas would be willing to let mommy contact her. Maybe even Nicholas will make his own Catster page? Who knows??
Anyway, mommy and I were just really really happy to here the good news!

Daddy baked a ham Friday night. 'nuff said.
P.S. Emily and I changed our songs on our pages. We are off country now and on a couple of soft rock artists mommy loves.
UPDATE: mommy just thought she changed our songs... we are experiencing technical difficulties with that... sorry!

I have nothing to say fur myself tonight, I just stole a diary from a furriend. My furriend, Tabby Little wrote this beautiful diary about his kitty mommy's love fur him (he won a contest in the Catstertown group with it too!) that I was so touched by that I just had to steal it and post it to share:
Here is my Winning Entry in the Valentine Contest at Catstertown group. I share this to all on Catster:
What love means to me.....
She gave birth to a son. She saved his life from the critter who destroyed his siblings. She placed him in the chair on the porch hoping the nice humans in the house would care for him. He laid there, injured and crying.
She couldn't do for him what she wanted to, but somehow knew they could help her only surviving son. She stayed close and watched the humans care for him. She heard the pleasant voices speak to him as she had many times from these humans. She took them as comforting sounds.
His eyes were crusted shut, he was listless and hardly breathing one chilly morning. Fall crept in quickly and her son wasn't ready for it. A tiny son, from a large litter, probably the runt to begin with. The humans had to take him away. She was crushed, thinking she'd never see him again. She watched from the driveway until she couldn't see the car any more.
She ran to meet the car in the driveway to see if her son was back also. She saw he was and came up to him and kissed him on the face in glee. His little eyes were now open, but he still lay listless and very weak. That night she nursed him and he ate.
Days went by and each day the one human was putting something in his eyes and something in his mouth. He started looking better and walking around. Days turned into weeks and her son was playing on the porch with her and eating regular food.
She would come and go while allowing the humans to babysit him. She brought a birdie to share with the humans, as if to say thank you. She shared her food with her son, she cuddled with her son, she teaches her son, she loves her son and her son loves her in return.....
I am her son.
