Dear Diary,
I was tagged by my beautiful furriend, Shelley Sue to play the "2009 Get to Know your Pals" Tag game! Sorry Shelley Sue that it took me so long to get around to playing.
1. What is the color of your collar? I don't have one.
2. What kind of food do you eat? Purina One, Hairball forumula and Fancy Feast canned
3. What are your favorite treats? HAM!!
4. Do you have a Valentine or a significant other. Yes, my sweetheart, Bessie
5. Do you get table scraps? Yes!
6. What is your favorite toy? I don't play often. But I will swing a paw or two at my Cat Dancer
7. When is your birthday? Mommy only knows it is in January. She picked January 8th because that is the anniversary of when we joined Catster and it's probably purrty close to our real birthday (Emily and I are littermates) so 1/8/96
8. How many times a day do you eat? My Purina One is available 24/7 I get a nibble of Fancy Feast every evening around 6 or 7 p.m.
9. Do you have a favorite color? If I do I haven't revealed that fact to mommy.
10. Do you hope all your pals put this in their diary? They don't have to. I'm not going to tag anycat. But if anycat wants to play and reads my diary they can consider themselves tagged and you bet I'll read it!
Thanks fur thinking of me Shelley Sue!
purrrs,
Edgar

Dear Diary,
Tonight Emily and I heard the garage door open... the scary lady who has been feeding us doesn't come in that way! So we cautiously approached the kitchen... and there they were!! Mommy and daddy are home!
Mommy immediately sat down on the floor and held out her hand and we both gave it a good sniffing, just to be sure you know. But it really was her!
We got some fresh ice water and lots of kisses and petting and snuggles and we both talked to them to tell them they should never ever ever leave us alone like that again!! It felt like furrever!
Tomorrow I'm going to try to give them the cold shoulder... maybe...but tonight? I'm just happy my pawrents are home again!
happy purrs,
Edgar

Dear Diary,
It seems I get to write one more before I am silenced. A cute little orangie boy kitten by the name of Tabby Little tagged me to play the Thanksgiving tag. So I need to list five things I'm thankful fur:
1. I am thankful for some human finding the box that my mommy and all my sisfurs were taped shut in, in some parking lot and taking us to an animal rescuer lady.
2. I am thankful for my mommy saying: "Give me the little orange boy too" when she came to the animal rescuer's house to look at the kittens to get one little girl kitten.
3. I am thankful for my furrever home where I am loved dearly.
4. I am thankful for time on the lap, loving scritches, and brushing with my Zoom Groom that my dear furriend, Arnold P. sent me almost a year ago!
5. But MOST of all I am thankful for HAM!!!
I'm not going to tag anycat but if anyone wants to play and reads my diary, then consider yourself "tagged!"
furry sad my mommy is going away purrs,
Edgar

Dear Diary,
Emily and I have put that song on our pages. It's an oldie but a goody. (You gotta love the Bass voice!) We're saying goodnight because "our time of silence" is looming nigh.
We love you dear furriends. Take care of yourselves and your mommies and daddies.
purrs,
Edgar

Dear Diary,
I heard mommy tell daddy something about a staycation. I don't like the sound of this. Especially since she said "Edgar and Emily won't be able to keep up with their friends' diaries." *hisss at mommy*
It seems our pawrents are going to be abandoning us in the near future...
We won't be able to read about how Seybah is getting along with Winnie and Chester, or whether Karma Kitty and Shelley Sue have effur become furriends and whether Shelley Sue is all better now. Or what is going on with that interloper in Captain Morgan's house?? Or who is giving Rocky Ann the anonymouse rosies? Or whether our dear furriend Arnold P. is having any more exploding poopies or toxic pee pees! Sissy Em won't be able to keep up with her nephews Leo and Aurelius (Squid, you need to write more diaries). I won't know what is going on with my niece, Libby! And what if Milo eats another rubber band???? Or Benjamin's mommy feeds him doggie chow again (Ben, you were a trouper about that and I'm sure your mommy is sorry). And WHO, fur cat's sake, is going to end up H.O.H. in the hotly contested campaign between Newman, Samoa, Sugar and Violet??? (Purrsonally I'm voting fur Violet, gender issues or no). We'll miss two whole weeks of Ka - Zar's weekly updates! :~(
I could go on and on... my fur is getting all soggy thinking of all the furriends whose goings' on we will miss!
We get three more nights and our typist *hisses at mommy again* is going to be busy with packing and things on those night even! And then we are going silent fur at least 8 days! Eight days!!! That's a lifetime! Anything could happen!
Mommy thought she might take her laptop and let us send our messages to her telepathically so that she could write to our furriends but fur some stupid reason she *thinks* she has decided to change her mind about that *hisses at mommy again* because she thinks a "break" might be a good thing. Who cares about her needs??? What about us???
Just off the top of my head, and I know I will be leaving kitties out and I'm sorry, purrlease don't be hurt! I want you to know that I and my furmily are purrrring fur you:
Purrcy
Bailey
Chloe
Misha
Taffy
Arnold P.
Gleek
Harry
Stinky
Hooch
Sampy
Benjamin

...and all the rest! We love you all so much!
hoping to read a few more diaries over the next three days purrs,
Edgar
(Note from mommy: "Daddy" and I are pretty nervous about the cross country drive in the holiday traffic after our harrowing experience of the rollover accident on Nov. 1st. So if the kitty mommies and daddies could keep us in their prayers or just try to send positive energy our way if they don't believe in prayers, we'd really appreciate that.)

Dear Diary,
...I thought I would. I really, really, really thought I would! I jumped up onto the chair next to mommy and gave her the best, intense "oh purrrleeeeease give me some mommy!" look that I know how.
So she offered me the fig bar. I sniffed it. I even licked it. I then looked at mommy and said with my eyes: "Really? You are eating this?? Why?"
not a fan of fig bars purrs,
Edgar

...raises his arm and says: "Hey doc! It hurts when I do this!" And the doctor says: "Don't do that."
It neffur was a funny joke. But in my mommy's human family the line: "Hey doc! It hurts when I do this!" has always been code for: well stop being a moron and intentionally doing something that causes you to hurt!
It's not good advice when applied to a broken arm. But it can be good advice when applied to something that you don't have to do.
All this is by way of saying that my mommy had to remove me and Emily and our angel sibs from Olde Furts because, well, doc it hurt when we went there. It's not the fault of any of the pawsome members whom we love dearly or the fabulous admins who work hard at keeping it a wonderpurr group and fur whom we have the greatest respect.
The group just has some indelible associations with it fur our mommy that make it too painful fur us to be a part of it anymore. And it just doesn't make sense to continue to do something that you know is going to make you feel bad. Like the doc says: "Don't do that."
I hope our furriends who are members and our former fellow admins whom we love will be able to furgive us fur our abrupt departure. We will still be reading your diaries and purring and praying fur you.
purrrs,
Edgar

Dear Diary,
Emily and I love routines and we have a new one! :~) You know Emily always goes with daddy when he goes to take his shower. Well last night mommy saw me greet daddy with a stretch and "meow" when he came out of the bathroom from his shower. Daddy just said "oh hush!"
Mommy said to daddy that it wasn't furry nice to tell me to "hush" when I'd clearly been waiting for him to come out. And then daddy told mommy about the new routine. He said: "he just wants ice cubes. Every night after my shower I have to give them both ice cubes!"
He then called, "c'mon!" into the bedroom and Emily quickly joined us in the hall and the two of us trailed daddy back to the kitchen. Mommy chuckled softly to herself at the little "parade."

Edgar

Dear Diary,
Tonight my mommy roasted a chicken and she took the giblets and lightly fried them in a little bit of oil and let them cool fur a long time. I seemed furry interested in this and even tried to get into the pot while they were cooling.
But later, when she chopped and smushed them up and tried to feed them to me and sissy instead of our Fancy Feast I would not even taste them! Neither would sissy! We both acted like it was poison!
In fact, I hated those guts so much that when mommy washed our plates and gave us our Fancy Feast (which looked furry similar to the guts) instead of my usual "hog in a trough" gobble, I approached the plate with deep suspicion and sniffed it first! Once assured it was not guts I then ate it like a "hog in a trough!" MOL!
My good furriend, Arnold P. told me I should not eat guts! And he is right! A liver is just a filter, afterall. And not a cool EHF like sissy wrote about last night!
glad mommy saw the light and gave me FF purrs,
Edgar
P.S. *note from mommy: I thought I was going to be giving them a special treat! :~(
