My poor eye!

Well, it turned out my mommy was right to worry about me. I have conjunctivitis in my right eye. When my mommy took me to the doctor she was scared when the doctor held my eye open. Now my mommy is going to have to try to put drops in my eye. I don't know if my mommy is good at that..

My Eye is Bugging Me!!

I've been a little sniffy lately.. Now my eye is watery and yucky.. I don't feel too good so my meommy is taking me to the doctor today. My mommy worries about me all the time, because the meds I am on suppress my immune system - I tend to sniff quite a lot.

I'm sniffy!!

I've been a little sniffy lately. Not too bad. My mommy worries about every sniff and cough! It just bugs me that she keeps insisting on giving me my pills even when I am sniffy and coughy!! And then that little orange boy keeps playing with my tail! But he's not so little!

My mommy told me today that she thinks that she doesn't deserve a kitty as wonderful as me.

I guess my mommy loves me.

11-06-2007 Bloodtest results

My meommy is very happy this week because this was the 3rd time in a row that I have had a "good" bloodtest. Apparently all of my liver enzymes were in normal range. The doctor did not want to change my medications at all, and my meommy of course worries about how much I am on. She also worries about what would happen if they lower the doseages! So much worrying!! I wish she'd worry more about my "obnoxious" baby "brother"! He is a real "bug"!!

My Story - Liver Disease

I thought I would share my story about my dealings with liver disease. Right now, I have to go to the vet somewhat regularly to get my blood tested, to see if my disease is being "managed". My momma worries about me all the time, praying for good results. I told her to stop worrying but she still does...

Over a year and a half ago, something happened and I had the runs real bad. I went to the doctor and they gave me some antibiotics and changed my food. I started to eat less and less and started to get the runs again. After another food change and less eating, I started to spit out kibbles, and finally I turned yellow in color. My mommy didn't know how serious my lack of eating was. The doctors thought I had hepatic lipidosis. I was in the hospital with an IV and getting force fed for a week. They even did a surgery on me to put an e-tube in. They did an ultrasound and an aspirate biopsy (or something like that) but nothing showed up as definitive.

After spiking a fever I was sent to another doctor's office, one where they were very high tech. After one night they sent me home with my mommy and she fed me through my e-tube. She was scared at first but she loves me so much she would come home during lunch to feed me. I got a little stronger but my liver enzymes were not changing. After a month they did an endoscopy and another liver biopsy (sure/true cut??) and that is when they figured out that I have IBD and Cholangiohepatitis. My immune system is attacking my liver!! The doctors tried different medicines, and when they added leukeran every other day, my ALT started to drop.

It has been tough on my mommy because when myenzyme levels got to normal and they tried to take me off some of my meds, I wasn't ready.
The last few months though, my liver enzymes have been perfect. I'm still on a bunch of pills, and I don't like taking them.

Because my immune system is depressed, I get sick a lot - I even got some ulcers on my tongue. I tried to tell my mommy and she tried to tell the vet but it took a while for them to notice the ulceron my tongue!!

My mommy keeps telling me how proud she is of me, and how brave I am.

Today my meommy finally decided to sign up on Catster! Sure took her long enough! Well, she knows I love her no matter what.

Today I was a very good boy and took all my meds. My meommy worries about me all the time, she calls me her angel.
