I'm glad I'm loved

My buddy Arnold and fellow olde furt posted an interesting thread on olde furts forum today asking the question what guarantees you to get kisses?

For me it just being around and being cute or sick. I also get a good morning kiss from Mum if she can catch me which isn't very often first thing in the morning.

It made realise one thing how lucky I am to be a member of such a loving family and that I am loved not only by my Mum but by my grandma, grandpa, uncle Grant and all my catster friends and it makes me feel really good inside.

Not all cats are as lucky as me as they have a hard life on the streets not knowing what it's like to be loved and that saddens me to think that this happens.

I count my blessings every day on two counts one fpr every day I share with my family and two that I am loved by them and I love them right back.

It's been a pawsome new year so far

It's the 4th January in Australia and I've had the best start to the year. I've found some roo mice I can eat that doesn't make me sick. The Sun is finally out even if it's only for a short time so I can go outside. I've also got to spend a lot time with my family too.

Mum was concerned when the last lot of roo mince made sick as it is high in protein and it's really good for cats a. The only thing I don't like about it is the kanagroos have to be culled so they don't starve to death or take over farmers farms looking for food.

We lived in the country Victoria for 18 months and saw first had what damage they can do and killing them is not a nice thought but it's better than them starving to death.

I hope the sun stays out a little longer this time as I love to site outside or sleep on the table outside and get my vitamin D and I love hanging out with Grandpa when he comes out and reads a book.

I love to spend time with my family and at the moment they are all home. Mum will start looking for work again soon and I know that takes her out of the house and once she find a job it we will spend less time together but I'm happy for it to happen as it will make mum happy.

I hope the new year has been as good to all my catster friends as it has been to me. I will write in my diary again next week or before if anything interesting comes up.

Happy New Year 2008

Well you won't be surprised when I say this will be last diary entry for 2008 considering it December 31st here in Australia.

Mum got a email from catster HQ which does about once week and it said human aren't the only ones who can make new year resolutions cats can too and it got me to thinking what would my new year's resolutions be.

Firstly I will try not to put my face right in mum's plate while she eats tea. I know this annoys her and I will make every effort to stop this in 2009. it will be hard to do but I will try.

Secondly I will try to write in my diary more. This I will need Mum's help with as she types for me but I think we can make it work.

Thirdly - I will try to make time to spend with Grandpa everyday even if it's just sitting on the bed with him while he reads a book or I could even help him with his cross word puzzles.

I will leave it at that as I'm a male cat I don't multi task all that well and I do need time to nap everyday as I am older cat too.

I hope all my friends on catster have a pawsome and safe new year and I will chat with you all in 2009.

Purr and hugs from your Aussie mate

Christmas Day 2008

I had the most perfect Christmas day. I spent the day with my family. Got a cuddle from mum and went to sleep in the afternoon with a tummy full of turkey that mum shared with me. I really love being with humans and at this time of year I enjoy it even more.

I feel for people and cats that are on their own. The greatest gift I've been given in my life is my family that loves me and takes good care of me. I have a warm place to sleep every night and food in my tummy everyday and I'm treated really well. I didn't want any presents for Christmas just to be with my family and all my friends to be happy.

I hope all my friends on Catster got the same and everything that wanted for Christmas and the new year bring you everything you could wish for and more.

This will most likely be my last diary entry before Christmas unless something exciting happens tomorrow which isn't likely.

I've really enjoyed being on catster it a great little community and I've made lots of friends this year last time I looked it was 350 plus. That over my whole time on catster not just this year.

I would like to give a special shout out to some special friends.

Firstly Pie thanks for being the beautiful angle that runs the Breakfast club. For me it's a great way to end my day. It sounds strange to be ending my day with breakfast but it this breakfast club that has helped me connect with so many of my catster friends.

My olde furt friends, Pie,Flower,Whisper, Kit, Arnold, Simon, Misha and Rascal. It been great to get to know you all through Pie's breakfast club and a great honour to call you all friends and if there is an old furt that I forgot to mention then I apologise in advance and you know who you are.

Jobel, Jasper and Jillian my Canadian friends. I always enjoy keeping up with what you are doing via your diaries and your mum postings on Catster mums and thanks for Christmas card you sent me and mum. You are three of the sweetest kitties on catster.

The blind kitties in North Carolina - There are too many of you to name individually but I always make the time when one of your diaries is updated to read your diaries. Your stories always inspire me. I will never stop admiring your courage and you zest for life.

Nike and Reebok - I've enjoyed reading your diaries I always got a good laugh you two are really cool cats.

Well That it really i could go on but Mum strained her neck and shoulder yesterday and can't type any more.

To all my catster friends no matter where you are in the world. Have a safe and happy Christmas and a happy new year and may Santa bring you all you wish for.

It's beginning to look a lot like christmas

Wow it's not that long until Christmas and last week it surly looked it. Grandma was putting out Christmas decorations, Mum and Grandma went out a brought the turkey breast roll we will be feasting on for Christmas lunch and Mum and Grandma Spent over two hours wrapping kids toys for our friends Salville. It a town in country Victoria Australia not Spain by the way. They've always been there for us when we've needed them so now it's our turn to give back.

They sent so much stuff Mum packed into three boxes and i had a great time being chief in charge of supervision and making sure that all the presents going out to them were alright to go. I even tried to get in one of the boxes but Mum said if I stayed in there that I might get sent with the presents, as much as I love the kids these presents were going to I'm very happy where I am and got out of the box very quickly to make sure I wasn't sent anywhere but I think Mum was joking but I can't be sure.

Grandma even give me an early Christmas present. she hand knitted a fantastic blanket using left over wool she had since it's still cold here I really love it as Mum puts it over my back when I'm sleeping on her knee or uncle Grant's knee and it keeps me nice and warm. It nice and bright so when I'm sleeping under you can't miss me.

I hope all my catster friends have a safe Christmas. I look forward to your continued friendship in the new year.

What I want for chirstmas

I just thought since it's getting close to Christmas I would write in my diary what I would like for Christmas.

1. That all homeless people and kitties have something to eat and a warm place sleep on Christmas night.

2. My furfriend Muppet who got her new pain free ears during week. Keeps getting better and things start to really look for her. she has so much courage and I really admire her for it and she deserves good things to happen to her.

3. All my olde furt friends are healthy over the Christmas season and into the new year.

4. That my human family continue to have good health and things keep on improving for my mum's health.

5. That my furfriends Jobel, Jasper and Jillian's mum's test results come back alright.

6. That Mum finds her dream job next.

7. My uncle Grant who suffers from a mental illness continues to improve next year.

That's all I want for Christmas. No presents just for the people and furfriends I love to continue to have good things happen to them. The only other thing I would like is some turkey with my family on Christmas day for lunch.

What I'm thankful for

I know this is two days late and thanks giving isn't celebrated in Australia but I didn't think it would hurt to write in my diary about what I'm thankful for anyway.

1. My family - They took me in a gave me a forever home. They take excellent care of me and give me more love than one cat could need. Thanks Mum,uncle Grant, Grandma and Grandpa

2. Having a warm place to sleep every night - Not all cats have this and I'm truly grateful for this. I have to especially thank my mum for this as I share her bed.

3. Having food to eat - again not all cats have this and I'm grateful for having a full tummy every time I go to bed at night.

4. My olde furts friends - To all my olde furt friends, Pie, Flower, Whisper, Misha, Simon, Kit and Arnold and the rest of you who have not mentioned you know who you are. You are truly wonderful friends. I am also thankful for Pie's breakfast club.

5. To all my catster friends like my olde furt friends you are all wonderful.

6. This the last but not the least thing I'm thankful for is being alive another year. This year I had my 10th birthday and Mum was surprised I got to it and the vet gave me a clean bill of health. So hopefully I will be around for many more birthdays yet.

If you got to here thanks for reading this. It's just something I wanted to write as no matter where you are in the world you should take time to be thankful for all the good things in your life.

My weekly rant

November 21st 2008 11:31 pm
[ View A Comments ]

Well it's a rant this week as I couldn't think of anything else to call it. I'm pretty sure it's a weekly rant this time. I took me two weeks between diary entries last time but Mum had sore wrists and we forgot to write it.

My week hasn't been that exciting. The weather here is still cold and to think on December 1st it will be the first day of summer. This spring has been really funny hot and humid one day and cold the next I know it's not doing Mum's knees and wrists any good so once summer hits all I ask for is some nice hot weather with no to low humidity so Mum doesn't hurt any more and stop being grumpy.

It better to be nice weather next Saturday as Mum going to a friends 40th Birthday party. So mum know some other than uncle Al who is older than her. It's a friend she did her course with last year. I know Mum not big on parties so this must a close friend for her to even consider going to party for.

Well there is nothing left to write so I finish.

Good human help is hard to find

I said I was going to write in my diary at least once a week. I think I said that two weeks ago so I'm going to sack the typist who helps me write my diary. If anyone wants the job feel free to pawmail me.

Come to think of it that may not be a great career move as my typist also provides me with a place to sleep at night and is also my mum. The real reason this is late is Mum has been having trouble with her hands and wrists as the weather here has been swapping and changing alot and it doesn't help mum arthritidis one little bit. Mum has it in both hands which makes it hard to type. So to my friends who read this dairy regularly please bear with us. I would never seriously sack mum as my typist as I love her very much and I know that she would do it for me more if she could.

There isn't much else to write about so I will finish. Hope all my friends are happy and healthy.
