My weekly rant for the week ending September 5th 2009

September 5th 2009 6:27 am

It is 11:20pm so my rant has to be written in the next 40 minutes or it's a day a late. I'm writing it this late as Mum has been busy today and just remembered to help me write it.

Well more to the point it's late as footy finals have been on at my house all day. My team the Geelong cats played this afternoon and won and Mum team the Carlton blues played tonight and lost heart breaker. Mum did say at the end of the day it's only sport and she's right.

I'm happy to say the 1st September was the first day of spring and Mr Sun is putting in an appearance. He's a little bit warmer but not much but it's better than nothing. The wind is still around and I wish it would go away as I hate going outside and having the wind blow through my fur.

I want kitties to join me in purring for the wonderful Sissy who is having surgery on September 11th to remove a tumour from her leg. This is all I know as I read about it on the PAWS angles group page. I believe with the power of the purr Sissy can recover from this. So please join me purring for this pawsome catster kitty.

Well that's my news for the week. My furt brain can't remember if there is anything else to write about. Hope all my mates and their families are happy and healthy.

Gee time flies when your on catster with a lot of great mates. It doesn't seems that long ago we were in a heat wave of extreme heat and now I'm talking about the cold.

I have had an adventure this week that is a touch embarrassing but I'm going to write about it anyway.

Grandma and uncle Grant (mum's brother) have been away for the week. Mum and Grandpa have been home to look after me and when Mum is home alone I follow her everywhere.

I went and sat under Mum's computer chair and she is always telling me off for doing it and says she will hurt me one day. Well yesterday that day came. I sat under her chair thinking she knew where I was. All of sudden she put the chair leg on my front paw and I let out an all might scream. I don't know who was more scared me or Mum.

I took off like bullet and mum came running after me to make sure I was alright. Mum caught up with and checked me over to make sure she hadn't done any serious damage and them came and gave me a cuddle and said I screamed louder than girl. Mum also tell me I meow like girl is trying to tell me something. How embarrassing.

When Mum adopted me she was told I was a girl. Being the runt of litter. I was a little guy as a kitten and I'm still a little guy now. Mum only found out about my manhood when I was desexed. Maybe I just like to show off my feminine side more than most other male cats.

I haven't done much this week as I have been home alone alot as my humans have been in and out all week. It great to spend time alone but it's been great to spend time with Mum too and have her all to myself.

It's been great snuggling weather here still. If any kitty could spare some sun it would be really appreciated. We've had a few nice sunnyish days this week but I know mUm's old bones would like some more.

If you read this far thanks for reading until the end. I hope all my mates and their families are healthy and happy.

Purrs and hugs your Aussie mate

I start this week's rant with a heavy heart as a good mate of my left for the bridge this week.

Faith's leaving for the bridge was very sudden and unexpected. Her mum left for work and she was fine sleeping in her usual place. Came home and went to fed her and she didn't respond. They think she must have left for the bridge in her sleep.

I didn't know Faith for long but she was a very sweet kitty and she will be missed by all at the breakfast club. Fly free at the bridge Faith you are now a beautiful angle.

The weather here is starting to warm up a bit but we're not getting enough warm days. Mr sun is putting in an appearance but not often enough. Mum says she can't wait for spring so her old bones will feel better. I want to thank my mates who sent the sun to me as it's been really nice.

I got told last night that I was way beyond naughty last night. I don't know why but I was really hypo last night. The cricket is on at the moment and it's on between 8pm and 3am it seems to be throwing out my sleep patterns. If anyone can tell what beyond naughty means please let me know.

Here what I did. I started by sleeping beside mum like I always do. Then I got up and did a few laps of the lounge room and kitchen and then jumped on Mum's bedside table and woke her up and scared the heck out of her.

I couldn't settle so I went and ran more laps and then jumped on mum's bedside table again and made a heck of a noise. Then for good measure I jumped on the bed and on Mum this was all done at 3am I thought mum would be happy I was getting exercise but she was very grumpy when she woke up this morning. Giving me the evil stare can anyone explain to me why?

That's my news for the week. I hope all my mates and their families are happy and health.

If you get the chance tell those close to you how much you love them. While you still have the chance for them to hear it.

My weekly rant (which is really late again) for the week- ending 15th August 2009

Sorry my rant is late again. Mum I only remembered just now. But I won't sack Mum as my typist just yet as she has a great excuse this week. We had a family crisis which is sorted now but it's been one hell of a week.

Mum usually write my rant on Friday night so ends up being out on Saturday for most of my friends. There hasn't been much to write about this week.

I want to thank my mates who sent me the warm sun as I got on Saturday and it's been coming ever since. The only thing I haven't liked is the wind we've has the last few days. I used to live by the sea for four years and when we move here I thought we'd left it behind but no it followed us. Ballarat can not only be cold in winter it can be really windy.

I had the best day yesterday. I didn't do much but spent the afternoon in front of the heater with my family watching the footy. It was a great day as I like to spend time with human family. I also got back into bed and snuggled with Grandpa. I don't do this very often and it was really warm as Grandpa let me under the blankets.

I have nothing left to write. I hope all my mates are happy and health.

My weekly rant for the week ending 8th August 2009

I start my weekly rant with a heavy heart this week as my good friend Granddad Joseph Conrad left for the bridge on Monday. I didn't know him for long but he was a great gentlecat, character, and great story teller. It was great honour to call him a mate. I will really miss you Granddad, now your at the bridge you'll be young and healthy again.

There hasn't been much happening at my end of the world this week. It been too cold to do anything I can't wait for the weather to get warmer so I can go outside and spend more time in the garden. I love sitting in a sun puddle.

If any kitty could spare some sun please send it my way. I know the sun would really help Mum as she is really struggling with Arthritis at the moment.

Flower one of my breakfast club mates gave it a great new name the other night. Arthur something or rather Mum and I had a great laugh at it as it a great new nickname for it.

I hope all my mates and their families are happy and healthy. Until my next rant stay safe.

My weekly rant for the week ending 1st August 2009

Where has the year gone. We're at 1st August already. Before you know it we'll be thinking of christmas and I thought it was scary when Grandma and Grandpa went to a christmas in July lunch last week.

I want to send a shout out to my mate Guido who was given the ultimate catster honour this week by being made cat of the week. Congrats mate and enjoy your time in the spotlight you deserve it. I think you should be cat of month not just the week.

As some of you may know Mum had a bad back this week I'm happy to report it nearly all better. Mum has a bit of stiffness in in her lower back but the pain has gone.

Mum got up from her computer chair and felt a sharp pain in her back. There is a lesson in all this be careful of how much time you spend at your computers my friends. I'm pretty sure my kitty nursing duties are over now but I've had to sleep with Grandma and Grandpa for the last four nights. I miss Mum.

The weather here is still really cold. If we get into double figures it a heat wave at the moment and I know that didn't help with Mum old bones. If any kitty can spare some could you please send some sun and heat our way.

Well that's my news for the week. Hope all my mates and their families are happy and healthy.

My weekly rant (a day early) for the week ending 25th July- 2009

July 24th 2009 1:33 am
[ View A Comments (4) ]

I'm writing my rant early again this week for two reasons. Firstly so it get done in time and also Uncle Al is coming tonight to fix sick computers and change our digital set top box on our lounge room tv.

I want to thank all my mates who purred for mate Ruben during the week he went to the vet with a weird eye as he described it in his diary. They thought he might have had a tumour but it turn out to be far less just an eye infection that need drops and antibiotics.

If you read this Ruben I hope your eye is batter mate and the drops and the antibiotics are working. Just make sure you milk it for all it worth in sympathy and threats mate some good may as well come of it.

This just proves the power of the paw and the purr. We purred for Ruben and he got better news. I know this doesn't work for all kitties but we don't know what our purrs will achieve unless we try.

I would like to send a big shout out to one of my fellow paws angels who had a rough time of it this week. Scooter the beagle who is one of the sweetest souls hurt her back this week and had to have surgery. I hope your feeling better and I want to let you know that I'm still purring for you mate.

The weather here is still really really cold. Mum jokes if the weather gets to double digits it's a heat wave. If anyone could spare it could you please send some sun. Mum has really been affected by the cold in the last week or so and sun would really help her old bones.

Well that's my news for the week. I hope all my mates and their families are happy and healthy. Until next week or something worth writing about comes up . Stay safe.

I have proof that the power of the purr works

My last diary entry was about my mate Ruben who the vet thought might have a tumour in in his eye. Well I am doing am happy dance today as I found out it was nothing more than an eye infection that will need drops three times a day and antibiotics.

I want to thank all my mates who purred for Ruben as I'm a great believer in the power of the purr especially in the healing process. I'm still to work out why it works but it does and if it helps other in need I don't really need to know for sure.

It's one of the reasons I became a PAWS angel when Pie invited me as a group of kitties purring of those in need is more powerful that one kitty purring for another in need.

It saddens that there are so many kitties in need of purrs but I will continue to purr for them and all I need to know is that need help and all I ask for in return is that they get what they need from my purrs. I know this may not heal all the kitties I purr for but at least I hope it bring them some comfort.

Purrs and hugs you Aussie mate

Please purr for my mate Ruben

I just found put today that my mate Ruben is need of some purrs and love. His eye has got weird as he describes it in his diary and his Grandma took him to the vet. The vet gave him some drops for it which he may have to have for the rest of his life but there is also the possibility that he may have tumour in his eye and if that the case his eye will have to be removed.

Ruben was one of the first mates I made when I came to catster and he is great guy too. So please join me in purring for him and could you please send him some love at his page. Here is the link. You will have to copy and paste as mum and I have worked out how to direct link to a page.

I just thought I would write about it in my diary as not all of the kitties who read my diary will see the thread I've started on the PAWS group page.

My weekly rant for the week ending 18th June 2009

July 17th 2009 4:50 am
[ View A Comments (2) ]

I decided I had to take action after last week and my rant coming out late so I've made Mum sit down and do my rant tonight. She going out tomorrow morning and I didn't want the same thing as last week happening again.

I don't have that much great news as the weather has been really cold and all I've really done this week is slept in front of the heater and got cuddles from my humans. So I decided to dedicate this rant to a very special catster kitty that I've met through olde furt's breakfast club that is run by the wonderful Pie.

Granddad Joseph Conrad is 17 years old and live in Gloucestershire in United Kingdom and tell the most wonderful stories about things that have happened in his life.

He comes to breakfast club and all he wants to do is share his stories with us and the honour is all ours as well love to listen to them. I want to help him share his stories by putting a couple in my diary. Here the first one. I hope the peeing reference doesn't offend anyone. This come from the olde furts breakfast club thread.

Graddad's peeing story.

Proper peeing is an art form and a delicate is subtle and so, so secret.........although, ok, sometimes it may come upon you to pee in the glaring light of day.....(I did, sometimes,........wwwhhheee, yyyiiipppeee....a new plastic carrier bag......let's smother it in PPPPEEEEEE!!!!!)

But always remember that you must pee quickly, suddenly.....a sudden shake of the rear end, up on the back paws and LET GO!!!!! Then RUN AWAY.......

Often you are not observed and it is only later that the pink monkeys realise that the reason that their computer or their music system will not work is because YOU HAVE BEEN THERE.......!!! This is as it should be.......please take note of these ideas and pass them on to your younger siblings.......but, indeed, I am not trying to 'tell my grandmother how to suck eggs'.......I am sure you have passed these words of wisdom on to your younger siblings already....but it is never a bad idea just to take stock and think about what lessons they still need to learn.......

Granddad's Marmite twirling story.

Marmite twirling is an ancient British art form, practiced firstly by the Celts and then taken up by the Romans when they invaded Britain.......since the fall of the Roman Empire and the coming of the Dark Ages in Britain the secret of Marmite Twirling has been remembered, lost, re-discovered, lost again.......until the Victorian era, when it was re-discovered by the poet Tennyson (although he does not mention it in his poetry) and has been practiced more or less in that form ever since.........I learned it from a mighty guru who told me only to tell one or two cats, but I believe everyone should have a chance to explore it in depth......and so I will tell you all.....

That is the background.......

Now to the practice........

1) You need a jar of MARMITE (a British type of yeast extract with inebriating qualities for cats).......

2) you must practice every day to elongate your tongue to at least ...what?.....3 inches in length.....(stick your tongue out as far as it will go and shout 'Scots, Wa-hay' ...this will elongate your tongue......

3) When your tongue is at the required length you must strengthen it by curling it around something (anything will do eg. your younger sibling, a potato, a tin a cat food) until it has the required strength......

4) when the required exercises have been done and the tongue is lengthened and strengthened THIS IS WHAT YOU MUST DO.......

Lay on your back, grasp a jar of marmite with your tongue, twirl it round your head three times, then take a mighty swallow of the marmite........continue to do this as many times as you are able.......

(unfortunately, when I put on a display of marmite twirling, after a few twirls I get so tiddly that the jar drops on my head and renders me unconscious........) the object of the exercise is to have a contest to see who gets knocked on the head first........the winner is the one who finishes the whole jar without passing out........

As far as I know there is no tradition in Australia that uses Vegiemite.

I hope if you read this far you enjoyed Granddad's stories. he is a great kitty and I hope I did Granddad some justice by putting two of his stories in my diary and writing about him.

I hope you all have a great week. I will continue to purr for those kitties in need, Until my next rant. Stay safe and healthy.

Purrs and Hugs your Aussie mate
