I just wanted to write a quick entry as it 11th November here in Australia and on that day each year we commemorate Remembrance day. It a day to remember all the service men and women who served in all wars for Australia. If they didn't fight these wars all those years ago we wouldn't have the freedoms we do now.

So thank you to all the service men and women who fought for our freedoms and the way of life we have now. We owe and each and every one of you a huge debt of thanks.

My weekly rant for the week ending 7th November 2009

There isn't a great deal to write about this week as compared to last week my week has been a bit slow. I can't believe it November already. Where has the year gone.

Two things happen in the first week of November and that's the Melbourne cup (horse racing) and my mum's birthday. I better not tell you which birthday it was as I might not make it to 12th birthday next June if I do.

Mum didn't do much for her birthday just went out to lunch and then come home and chilled for the rest of the day. It was too hot for too many cuddles but I made sure she knew I loved her in other ways like hanging out with her and I gave her a huge kiss.

The day before Mum's birthday was the Melbourne cup. It a big deal in our house as my Grandpa likes to make what he call live stock investments (translated they're bets on the horses). He follows it all year and the Melbourne cup is the biggest race of the year.

By the time the race started 27 Million dollars had been bet on the race world wide. A facebook friend of mum sent a funny message after the race. Mum found this ditty quite amusing.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Horses that lose the cup are turned into glue.

I will send sun to those kitties that need it which by sounds of it is most of mates at the moment as it sounds really cold everywhere in the northern hemisphere.

We had a few days of it being cold and now it gone back to nice sunny days and when Mr sun puts in an appearance I like to hear him with my mates.

Well that's the end of my rant for the week had more to write about than I thought. Hope this finds all my mates happy and healthy.

PS. Please keep purring for Dog. He's on the improve but is along way from being fully recovered and still needs our purrs.

Wow what a week it's been. I am happy to report that the weather finally starting to warm up we had four months of winter in Ballarat instead of three. We've had nice sunny days all week and the weather is only going to get warmer.

I want to send some shout outs to people that have helped me in the last week or so. Dusty the puppy cat and his mum for the plague commemorating my day as Cat of the day.

Also the beautiful Jazzi for doing a graphic for my being the paws angel member of the month. The month has now ended and a new member has taken my place I just hope I proved I was worthy of the honour.

I also want to thank all my mates that sent rosette, messages and diary comments for my being DDP yesterday. Mum will get out purrsonal thank yous over the weekend as we've been flat out like a lizard drinking this week.

Also my very good Canadian mates the Manxsters and their mum for doing the code for my Aussie themed page. It look great mate. Mum and I love it. I've changed all the photos on it and the old ones are now in my catster photo book. If you want to have a look there is even a couple of me as a kitten with my head suck in a can of cat food.

Also could you please keep the purrs coming for Dog. He's having a tough time on the road to recovery. It was touch and go for a little bit there but he's fighting back. Hopefully he will start eating soon but now he is responsive to his name and trying play with people. Let's hope there's miracle for him and fully recovers.

I want to dedicate this diary entry to my great mate Calvin who became an angel this week . Go and tell everyone you you care about that you love them as we don't know how much longer we've got together. Do while you can.

Wow mum just got an email to tell us that I'm a diary pick again. This the fourth time this year and if they give any more DDP I will have to start counting on the other paw.

The diary chick must really love my Aussie charms or is it that I don't write poopie stories. This is one of the great catster mysteries. Why I keep getting picked as a diary pick.

Oh well thanks catster HQ as I never get tried of recieving the honour and at least someone is reading rants.

I just found out that my great mate Calvin has made his trip to bridge. Mum and I are sad but at the same time take comfort in knowing he is at the bridge and free of the cancer that took his life.

He was great friend to all kitties always there with a kind word and was brave until end. It was honour to call you mate Calvin. Fly free at the bridge as you are whole again.

My deepest sympathies to Calvin's family for their loss of a great kitty.

My mate Dog needs our help.

This came to my attention through the Paws angels group after I wrote my rant last night and it makes me really mad.

Dog is a 2 year kitty and must have a lot of curiosity I know I did at that age. He's an indoor kitty and got out. He was gone for a while and then he was found by his mum riddled with bullets from .22 and BB guns.

He in hospital getting taken care of but I want to ask a favour of all my mates that read this. Please purr for Dog as he is still in a pretty bad way and needs all the purrs he can get.

It just amazes me sometimes what humans will do to animals they tend to forget we are caring and feeling creatures too and that some really cares about us and loves us.

My greatest want right now is for Dog to make a full recovery. The power of the paw and lot of kitties purrs can't do any harm in helping this happen.

Wow what a week it's been it given me a bit to write about.

The weather in Ballarat is finally starting to be like spring weather nice and sunny and warm without being too hot. I can go outside and enjoy the sun and sit in a sun puddle most of the day.

Mum's bedroom window gets great sun at around 3pm so I even go and sit there for a couple hours. I scared mum the other day as didn't know I was there and make a bit noise getting out.

On Monday I was also made cat of the day. It was a total surprise as we didn't know anything about it until mum go the email. It was quite an honour but what made it so special was sharing it with mates I want to send some shout out to the following kitties for making the day so special and sharing it with me.

I want to give a very special shout out to Edgar and his family as sent me a catster plus subscription as a COTD gift. We've been putting it to good use by putting more photos on my page and putting captions on them and I've even added another field about my family with more to come when I think of stuff I want to put on there.

I also want to thank the following kitties for sending rosettes and special gifts.

Dusty the puppycat - A blue first prize ribbon
Ivan - A trick or treat gift
Remus - A ghost
Rascal - A candy corn treat
The beautiful Pie - A Halloween pumpkin
Zeeke and family A candy corn treat
Alex, Annie and Bugsy - A Halloween pumpkin
The beautiful Miss Muppet - Crown
Graham and family - A Halloween pumpkin
Quincy - A globe of the world
Stewart and family - A Acorn
Athena - A candy corn treat
Diego and Lulu - A sun flower

Also last but by no means least I want to thank the follow kitties for commenting on my diary entry

Flower

I want to end this very long winded rant by thanking you all being great mates as great mates make the world of difference all of time and I consider it an honour to call each and everyone of you my mate.

My time in spotlight as Cat of the day has ended and I just thought I would write a quick diary entry to say that it was a great honour to be picked as cat of the day what made it even more special was sharing it with mates.

I got a lot of rosette and pawmails of congrats and a lot of message on the group mail as well. It was really nice to share it with mates and I got a really nice meal of roast lamb for tea. I got so many messages of congrats mum was flat out like a lizard drinking sending thanks for over two hours this afternoon.

My Aussie page is back thanks to my mates Jasper, Jobel and Jillian's mum and there will some more changes to my page as my great mate Edgar gave me a catster plus subscription as a COTD gift. It really appreciated and my page will be a work in progress over the next few days. Look out for the changes and tell me what you think and feel free to make suggestions for improvements.

Thanks for making my special day so special. I will give my shout outs in my weekly rant on Friday.

My weekly rant for the week ending October 17th 2009

I have to say this week I learnt what great mates I have here in catster land. Mum's volunteer job was terminated this week with no warning she was just told they don't think she suited to be an integration aide , given a letter telling her what she did wrong and right and then shown the door.

Mum came home quite upset and I talked to my mates on the breakfast club forum about it. When something upsets mum it upsets me too as I don't like to see mum upset.

After I did this my mates started to leave messages on the Breakfast club forum and sending us pawmail. It nice to know that my mates are there for the good and the bad. I want to thank everyone that left messages on the forum or by pawmail as they were really appreciated.

Mum's going to talk to her employment consultant on Monday and she already thinking about plan B. Taking what they said on board and moving on.

I've had a rather boring week this week. The weather is still cold so I can't send anyone some sun as we don't have any either and it rained a lot.

But the good thing about this is that some of our water restrictions can be lifted so it not all bad. I will send some sun when the weather allows me to. Don't hold your breathe waiting as it may take a while.

There is nothing left to write. Hope everything is going well with all my mates. I send my purrs to all the kitties that are unwell.

Purrs and hugs your Aussie mate.
