Deja Vu all over again...

Hi, Iz fans

Once again, we are looking for a missing kitty. Lily went out yesterday morning and seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. We've called and called (I stand in the door and meow outside for her and so does Delilah), looked on the street and under every bush and can't find her anywhere. Some people would say that Mom got what she deserved for letting Lily be an outdoor kitty, but she says she HAD to let her out each day because Lily was an outdoor kitty when she adopted her. Lily had a bad habit of tearing through our screens to get out and Dad said we had to let her out or get rid of her. Anyway, we don't know where Lily is or what happened to her. Mom says if someone does have her, she knows Lily will do all she can to escape. Mom has called our vet and the animal control officer. Lily is micr-chipped but doesn't have a collar. Mom says she knows something happened because Lily pretty much never left our yard. We are very sad and lonely without our little terrorist!

Please keep us all in your prayers for Lily's safe return!

So noisy!!!

Hi, Iz fans

Today has been a very noisy day in the Land of Iz. We had to have some trees cut down. The men used very large, noisy saws and then put the trees into something that made them disappear! All that came out the other end of the machine was a bunch of sawdust! Wow! Magic!!! It is SOOO noisy here that I have been hiding inside the sofa all day and just came out now to ask mom to type this for me. The man told mom that he couldn't cut one tree all the way down because there is a family of raccoons living in it! Mom said "Aw, you for sure CAN'T cut it down!" Our mom is so nice! The man said he didn't want Mama Raccoon coming after him! She probably would have been a little ticked-off! Mom said now she can film her own Sears Optical commercial where the lady calls her cat and the raccoon comes in instead! But she was serious when she said that now she knows Lily has to come in at night.

Our house is going back on the market on Saturday, so we'll be getting shut up in the storeroom again, I guess. Mom and Dad are so tired of the whole process and Mom isn't looking forward to the massive cleaning and staging the house. Our realtor is even acting like she's lost interest. Not really even answering Mom's emails for days.

Well, I'm going to go back inside the sofa now, fans. They started up that infernal noisy machine again and even though I am the World's Bravest Cat, the inside of the sofa is the place to be right now!

Love to you all,
Izzie

What Was THAT??

Hey, fans of Iz

Seems like there's never a dull moment here in Twinsburg, Ohio. Meowmie and I were chilling out watching television and having our breakfast at about 8AM today when there was a big boom and our windows rattled! Meowmie has always said that one of her greatest fears is that one day someone will be coming down our street, speeding of course, and lose control of their car and hit our house! Also, we've had such windy weather lately and we have lots of old dead trees around our house. Meowmie didn't know WHAT to think! So she took our sisfur Cady outside with her and walked around the house while I watched over my two kitty sisfurs and Jessie. (I always have an important job to do, you know.) Meowmie didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Well, a few minutes later a special report came on our local news that three houses had blown up a few miles away! They were all on fire and the newsperson said windows were blown out all over the neighborhood and some people were lying in the street! We still don't know yet how badly the people were hurt or why the house (which was vacant) blew up, but we are saying prayers for those people who were hurt and/or lost their homes.

On the homefront, Meowmie and Daddy have learned that they will probably have to put another $14,000 into our house before we can sell it, just in repairs. Meowmie is now calling the house "The Money Pit", among other things that I can't say 'cause I'm a good boy.

Izzie

Will We Stay or Will We Go? Even the Great Cat doesn't know!

Hi, Iz fans

It's all about the house lately! I'm trying to do my best to call as much attention to myself as I can. Yesterday I knocked Mom's spring display off the mantle in the great room, including the big picture on the wall but she just picked it up, said "You made a big mess, Iz." and went on about her business. I was so shocked I didn't know what to do!

Mom and Dad are trying to figure out if we are going to stay in our home or continue looking for another one. They know they HAVE to sell. Its really apparent to Mom whenever she tries to make more than one trip up the steps and she can't carry the hoomin kitteh up there anymore--he has to go up the steps by himself. Mom says she love this house but it's just not practical to stay. So, they have to fix some things before they try to sell it again. Mom is mad because Dad said she can't take Delilah to the vet's. Delilah eats all the time and she never gains any weight. Mom says she seems fine, but she's worried anyway. But vets are expensive and as long as it's not an emergency, Dad says to "let it go".

Lily Rose wanted me to tell you she caught a mouse last week! But Ernie didn't tell her what she needed to "do" with it, so she just kind of played with it and then let it go. We said we could just hear Ernie up at the Bridge, shaking his head, laughing and saying, "Girls!"

Hope everyone is having a bee-yoo-ti-ful spring day.

Well, Iz fans, it looks like I am going to have to start taking care of myself from now on. Last night, I thought I would be cuter than I usually am, so when Mom was letting my dog sisfurs in at 11PM, I decided to slip out the patio door without her seeing me. I was sure she'd know I was out there. I got kind of interested in some smells out there and by the time I turned around and was going to say, "OK, mom, you can let me back in, now..." , the porch light was OFF, the door was CLOSED and mom had gone TO BED!!! Yikes! Well, I wasn't too worried because mom always notices I'm out there, so I kept on sniffing and exploring the patio. But, with all this stuff going on with the sale of our house, I guess mom was a little more destracted and CRS--ie than usual. I FINALLY had to do something I hadn't done for almost 3 years, Iz fans! I had to go hang on the screen!!! Only this time it was from Mom and Dad's bedroom window. It was the one right by their bed. Kinda smart on my part, dontcha think? Mom woke up and saw me hanging there and she thought it was my sisfur Lily Rose who, it seems, can morph herself through walls to get outside. She said, "C'mon Lee Lee!" and boy was she surprised when it was me who came running! I was purring and headbonking her and telling her all about the stuff I saw out there and how scared I was 'cause it was soooo dark. She wasn't impressed. She gave me a few Temptations treats and went back to bed, kind of grumbling and shaking her head. So I've been sticking close-by all day, Iz fans. You know we're getting a few offers on our house (or so our realtor says) and I'm just afraid that when they move, I'll be meowing "What about MEEEEE!!!!" and running after the moving van!!!!

Sheesh!!!

Love,
Your pal Iz

Yay! Open Window Weather!

Hi, Fans of Iz!

Happy Easter and Happy Spring to Evfurone! I am very excited about the nice weather even though, unlike my sister, Lily Rose, I can't go out and enjoy it, but I do get to sit in the laundry room window and watch the birds in the big pine trees alogside our driveway. I don't speak bird, and like I said before, when I look at them I see nice, juicy little cheez-burgers on legs, but even they are excited about the warmer weather! Mom was telling me she remembers when the blue jays built a nest in one of those trees and once when she and my late big brother, Ernie were walking down the sidewalk, they both got very angrily dive-bombed by those mom and dad birds. Mom says it was Ernie's fault because he always chased those birds and really honked them off, and now they were gettng back at him. Mom showed Dad that she actually had beak bites on her hand! But she said she was glad they got her and not Ernie.

We're still getting shut in the basement storeroom every so often, fans. Your furry little bundle of love and hospitality just can't imagine why the people who come to see our house don't want me to show it to them. After all, I know where all the good spots are! I'm sure that those people would LOVE to see the inside of the sofa! Lily and I discovered that hiding spot all by ourselves! I owe her a big one on that! Mom and Dad should leave it up to us, boy. We'd sell this house in a hurry!

We hope that it's Spring everywhere our friends are, if not in weather then in their hearts. All our frieds are so wonderful that they all deserve nothing by sunshine and bautiful warm breezes all year long!

And mom says she apologizes for any typos in this entry, but Lily is sitting in front of the monitor and washing herself and of COURSE we can't disturb HER!!! If it was ME, mom would say, "Izzie! Move your(---um--you know---)I can't see to type!"

Lots of love and some peace, too!

Izzie

I was kind of a bad boy, but...

Hi Iz Fans!

Well, to get right to the point, I was kind of a bad boy yesterday. But it was Meowmie's fault! She had to put our scratchy boxes away because for some reason that is beyond me, not everyone who comes to see our house for sale likes little kitties. So, we have to hide the fact that we live here. I know. I don't get it either.
So, Meowmie brought the boxes back out when they got home and put some nip on them. I kind of lost control and got into a fight with my sisfur, Lily Rose. I don't know what got into me, Iz fans. (Other than the nip). Meowmie yelled at me to leave Lily alone and got right in my face. She said if I did that again, I was going to have to go into timeout. Me!!! In time out!!! Well, I've NEVER been in time out! I heard Meowmie telling Dad that it's a good thing that I have Kitty ADD. I lost interest in the boxes after about 5 minutes and Lily had her way with both of them.

Later, I was on Meowmie's lap and I reached out and patted her hand very softly with my paw. I'm sorry, Meowmie. I won't do it again.

Love and purrs,
Izzie

I killed it dead many times!

Hi, Iz fans

All of us here at The Zoo are sitting and waiting for the 8-12" of snow that the weather people here in Cleveland have been honking about all week. Meowmie got gasoline for the snowblower, called our grandma to make sure she has everything she needs, and then, if we're stuck in the house, we're gonna all cuddle up on Meowmie's lap and have a good nap! In nearly-March, Iz fans, we don't get too huffed and puffed about snowstorms anymore. They're kindof like buses in Cleveland. If you miss one, there's always another along eventually.

I am sooo enjoying my new little mousie, Iz fans! If your pawrent hasn't gotten you one yet, you really need to go on a kitty protest strike until they do! Meowmie found it at PetsMart for Valentine's day, and she also found one at Wal-mart but we think one of our dog sisfurs got that one. All you have to do is just tap it with your paw and it makes noises like a real mousie! I know my brufur Ernie up at the Bridge is laughing because he used to get the REAL ones, but I'm satisfiedwith this one 'cause it doesn't get to stinking after a while. I did (accidentally) let it off it's leash the other day (I kind of bit through it) and Meowmie had to fish it out from under the chair, but now it's fixed so I can lay n my Morgan's bed and just play all evening. It is The Coolest Thing, and you just have to be a very, very good kitty until your Meowmie or Daddy buys you one.

Meowmie had a loooong talk with our realtor type person today and we think that maybe Meowmie and Daddy are going to lower the price of our house so that it sells. Meowmie says she is jus so tired of cleaning and fixing up the house for all those people to come through. She told the realtor lady that it's time to face facts and move on. We just hope they don't move on without us! Meowmie always looks at other houses with us in mind, though. Especially Lily Rose. No houses on main roads or by the street. No big mean doggies. Enough room for all our noms and toys. Meowmie says that if we have to move, let's just get on with it and get it done with.

So, Iz fans, we hope that if you are in the path of this big storm that you will be sure to be extra careful if you have to go out and stay safe. If you don't have to go out, pawmail us and we'll chat!!

Much love to all our Catster friends and Happy St. Paddy's day to our Irish ones.

Izzie

I am my meowmie's special little valentine!

Hello, Iz fans!

Meowmie is starting to hear birds in the trees and feeders, so she told me today that spring must be coming down the tracks, heading for the station. She says it always gets here sooner or later, but you have to look fast for it in Cleveland, Ohio. Seems like some years there's snow outside one week and it's 90 degrees out the next!

Yesterday was Valentine's Day, and boy did we kitties make out great! Meowmie felt so bad because between her sore tooth and getting the flu from the hoomin kitteh, she hadn't had a chance to go to the pet store and buy us our special noms, Temptations. We got three bags!! While she was there, she got us (actually me because I won't let my sisfurs play with it) a mouse that, when you tap it, it sounds like a REAL MOUSE! Ernie would know more about how a real mouse sounds than I would as he was The Great Black Mouse Hunter, but I'll take Meowmie's word for it. I just LOVE to play with it. Meowmie says any toy that captures my attention for more than 20 seconds has to be a prize-winner! She says it gets kind of annoying and it not only sounds like a real mouse but looks like one too. So when I leave it on the floor she has to remind herself that it's just my toy.

I know I am Meowmie's special Valentine Boy. She tells me so just about every day, even when I make a mess ten minutes before a potential buyer is supposed to come see our house. (All of the sudden I am loving tearing up paper and chewing cardboard boxes!! I can't help myself!) Yesterday, I was asleep on the recliner platform between Meowmie's feet on the afghan. Meowmie says I was on my back and had a big smile on my face. Daddy just looked at me and shook his head. Hey, I can't help it if I was comfortable! Meowmie said it was a Lazy Sunday, and I was being, well...lazy!!!

Take care, Iz fans!

Brat Boy's Mid-winter Musings

February 5th 2010 7:57 am

Hello, Iz Fans

I know it has been a while since I added to my diary, and meowmie aplogizes. It's just that here in Cleveland, Ohio, things are so darned boring, even for a little kitty like me who can find mischief just about anywhere ;-) Meowmie says the birds are getting more vocal and colorful on our feeders, so she's hoping that means spring can't be far off now. Me? I just see cheeseburgers on two spindly little legs when I look at the birds...

Meowmie has been down this week with a bad tooth infection. Her dentist missed the fact that she needed a root canal last fall when she put a crown on meowmie's tooth and meowmie grew a great big infection in it. Meowmie knows it's the dentist's fault, but she told me she doesn't want to say much because the dentist has a really big hypodermic needle and drill!! Meowmie had it drained twice and now it feels better. And, she says she lost 3 pounds this week because she couldn't eat!

Our dad is also feeling better after his congestive heart failure last Christmas. He even gave me a neck scratch this week! How could he resist--I was sitting on the counter looking sooooo cute. I know Delilah is his favorite, but since he isn't really a big fan of cats, we all consider ourselves lucky that he lets us live here!

People are still coming in and out of our house and we still have to get locked up in the storeroom when we have a "showing". (I'd sure "show" them a thing or two!) Our contract with this realtor is up in six weeks or so, and meowmie is hoping that if we sign with a new realtor, the house will somehow get sold.

We hope that all our Catster friends are having a safe and peaceful New Year so far, and if they aren't to let us know so we can keep you in our prayers.

Happy Valentine's Day, sweet furrenz!

Love,
Iz
