Mommy was on a mission tonight. A kitten mission!
Before anycat gets excited:
No, I am not having kittens, I am spayed (thank goodness)
No, Sandy is not having kittens either
and NO!! Mommy did not get the New Cat Fever like last year, when Sandy happened to come along!
What IS happening is that Auntie Jen is going to get a new kitty on Friday! she asked Mommy if she could have my old litterbox, since I insist on using the one that Sandy came with, and Sandy refuses to use mine.
Mommy shrugged and agreed to it. I can't believe it! Where am I going to go in a pinch?
I guess now we're only a 1 litterbox family.
Well, okay, so it has been months since I've used it. I guess I can allow that.
So Mommy came home and cleaned it out, wiped it down, now it's out on the very hot deck drying out.
I was watching Mommy on her mission, and I remembered all the good times I had in it. . . the near misses, the little swinging door, that fell off a while ago, the little dust thingy that trapped all the litter off my paws before I left it.
Ahhhhh memories!
Then I heard some bad news.
The new orange and white kitten to be named later, that is still very young, still has his claws, and Mommy volunteered MY CLIMBER WITH SCRATCHING POST!!!!
Now, I know I don't have claws, and I know that the kitten unfortunately will be declawed in two months because of apartment rules and Jen's visual impairment/laziness. She doesn't want the kitty to claw her furniture, but I can't imagine why not, she should be thrilled to have the kitty's markings forever on her furniture, years after the kitty has left for the Bridge, she can look and feel the markings and have a more tangible memory book!
Humans!
What was I saying, oh yeah. ..
I will miss my post cuz sometimes I stand on it, reach for the stars and scratch my nonexistant front claws on it!
Hey, a cat can dream, can't she?
In two months when the poor cat loses his claws, I will probably get it back, but it will have HIS scent on it!
What good is it then?
Mommy is too good-hearted and charitable, if there is such a thing, she offered all this stuff, including my carrier for temporary use, but WHAT ABOUT ME??

Now that Mommy got her computer, and her new 22-inch monitor, there are boxes all over the place, big ones too, the bad part is that there are things in them that need to leave, like the old computer, and the monitor one is way too skinny for me!
The good news is, there are so many places now to hide from Mommy! No. I love being with my Mommy, but sometimes, well, a cat just needs to be alone, ya know?
Like today, I threw up three times today, and she was worried, so she was going to give me a Pepcid to settle my tummy. Well, Sherlock that I am, I knew something was up as she went into the bathroom to get a chopped up pill.
So I hid. I hid under the table, and with all those boxes in the way, there is no room for her to squeeze in, skinny though she thinks she's getting (but not really) It would take a toothpick to get in there to get me!
Unfortunately, toothpicks don't walk Or is that fortunately?
She tried coaxing me out, but it didn't work. she tried getting me treats, but I wouldn't come out for that, I'm too smart! Besides, I just barfed, who would wanna eat after all that? So she accidentally dropped the pill, and looked for it for a few minutes, that's another thing. I don't want a pill shoved in my mouth that's been on our icky unvacuumed floor! Blech!
So she forgot about it and got on the computer. Putting the dirty pill next to her on the desk. But it is a very small, fourth of a pill that was small to begin with and she must've knocked it off the desk.
Lucky for me, right?
When I jumped on the desk, she hunted the desk and the floor for it, while I sat there like a dope and watched her.
In the end, she just grabbed me under her arm, took me to the bathroom, and cut up a new Pepcid, a fairly clean one, and shoved it down.
Shows me for jumping on the desk!

Mommy was up late last night. Very late.
Then she got up early to specially record her show that she's putting on a special DVD in a special order, then she went back to bed for another hour and a half.
When she got up, she had to get ready to go to Beepball practice, and slowly, but surely she left. I guess it went okay, even though Auntie Jen wasn't there, but when Mommy came home she was pooped!
She said it was a very warm and very sunny day, and she sat in the sun when she was waiting to bat, ran in the sun to the beeping base (you'd have to know what Beepball is to understand that, it's a game for blind and visually impaired purrrsons) and she stood in the hot sun when in the outfield. .. . she had had enough Vitamin D for a while! When practice was over, she sat at the picnic table trying to cool off, in the sun, of course. The coach purrrson taking her home kept chatting and wouldn't shut up, so she sat under a tree, in the shade.
So when she got home, she just wanted to sit in the air conditioning and cool off, then her allergies kicked in, so she lied down on her bed. Sandy was already there, and did her cuddle/headbonk/kneading thing. I came in after a few minutes and sat on the dresser by the window, walking on Mommy on the way to the dresser. She'll be okay, she's used to it.
After awhile, I realized she wasn't gonna get up for a LONG time, so I laid on the bed with her. She slept and slept and slept, even when Grandma called on the phone, she was only on the phone for a minute, then went back to sleep and slept and . .. . well, you get the idea.
Wow! I love the sun, but I didn't realize it took that much energy out of humans!
Mommy finally woke up, FOUR HOURS LATER! She was appalled by the time, it was 5:30! :-O But we were all so comfy on the bed. I was on her right side, Sandy on the left, and it took a minute, but she realized that both her girls were there, taking a kitty nap with her!
She started to gush! Ewww!
"Ohhhh Girls! You BOTH took a nap with me! How Sweeeeeet! How Cuuuuuuute! I wuv you girls soooooo much!"
I'm gonna have a hairball!
We haven't had three in a bed since last winter, I guess she likes it when we both sleep with her. Purrsonally, I like sleeping on the living room floor, on the toilet, on the bathroom floor. ..or directly under the AC! Bedroom is kinda warm.
She didn't want to break the mood, but had to get up and call Grandma. But we got some treats out of it, we finished the bag of Greenies that needed to be finished, only had bits and pieces in it.
I guess if I get treats, I wouldn't mind napping with her again .. .
Even Sandy didn't mind me there, she came over, sniffed my butt and walked away, I just laid there like "So what?" but Mommy got so happy that we didn't hiss and bat at each other "Oh Giiiiirrrrrllls!!! You might be getting along now? You are soooooo cuuuuuute!"
Yeah right. .. I'm tired
Now, an hour and a half later, I'm still on the bed, Mommy put me there for special treats and gushing. .. and Sandy is curled up on the floor, in her/MY Morgan's Bed.
I guess the mood is somewhat broken, but we are in the same room. .. all except Mommy. . .we're just waiting for her to come back to bed.

A couple days last week, Mommy went to some place called "the gym" to do swimming, how the heck can she stand the water, I hate it! And to also do something called a treadmill, which is what we watched videos of cats on treadmills. Why she'd wanna do that is beyond me!
And she had to leave me to do it! I cried a lot! I also cried today when Mommy left, came home for a minute and left again.
Anyway, she said Thursday was to hot to wait for a bus and go to the gym, so she said she'd do her exercises on the machines on our floor, just around the corner and past the elevators. She left me to do that, but I could sense her somewhere in the vicinity, so I didn't cry. After awhile, she came back, all sweaty and stinky, like she smells when she goes to that place called the gym. Yuck! Even Sandy didn't wanna get near her! But she set her stuff down, picked me up and took me out the door!
She walked with me, and I squeaked a lot cuz I wasn't sure where I was going and it was hot and stuffy! There's a couch and a chair by the elevator, and we sat there and I got worried, I thought we were waiting for the Turtle (what Mommy calls the slowest elevator in the world, ours) but the Turtle didn't come and we just sat. Then we got up and she walked me to where she was working out not fifteen minutes before. I was afraid that she'd put me on that treadmill and try to take a video of me! But she didn't.
We walked around the exercise area, then we headed back, sat on the chair for awhile, don't know what for, I don't think Mommy knows either. Maybe she wanted to show me off to her neighbors? And who could blame her! But no neighbors showed their faces, so we decided to come back home. But. ..
On the hallway leading to our apartment, she put me down to walk on my own! she wanted to see if I could find home, I guess. But I stopped at almost every door and squeaked. She'd pick me up and we'd walk a few feet, and she'd put me down and I'd go to the door and squeak! Then, when we were closer, she put me down almost next to our neighbor Shirley's apartment, and I squeaked louder, I wanted her to come out and play!
No Shirley though :-(
So Mommy picked me up and we went home. Ah, nice cool apartment with air conditioning!

Mommy ordered her computer on Tuesday evening, and it came on Friday afternoon!!!
Auntie Jen came over, even though she wasn't feeling too good, and hooked it up for Mommy, cuz Mommy doesn't know that much about hooking up computers. Then they had some internet problems, but thank Kat that they got it taken care of, so I was able to come on P&P at the Late Late Show! then they were looking for some places to hook up her printer and camera and wireless mouse, but today, Grandma found it!
Mommy was pretty good though, she got her email thing going and the screen magnifier going, and today, her, Auntie Jen and Grandma went shopping for a new monitor cuz the computer didn't come with one, and they ordered one.
Which means we kitties won't be able to lie on the desk anymore :-(
It came in a really big box, but of course, not as big as that entertainment center thingy came in. When the humans got the stuff out of the box, I kept eyeing it, after Jen left, Mommy was wondering why I hadn't jumped into the empty box yet, so she put me in it! I had so much fun that I just curled up and took a nice ole nap!
But i was able to come out, she was worried that I wouldn't, but when she wanted to move the box out of the way, I was out of it and back to napping on her dining chair.
I kept jumping up on the desk, but now Mommy pushes me off. I've always been allowed on the desk! That keyboard is so teeny tiny compared to the other one.
I might just make like Chey and break this one, won't be hard!

Good advice there, for all humans that have cats, especially the four-paw-clawed cats! I'm only a two-paw-clawed cat and it was disaster time for the two-legged one!
Friday, Mommy came home and she was so happy it was Friday. Seems the computers were slow at work, computer was slow at home, yada yada yada. BTW This may be one of the last diary entries on our "Old Betsy! (our almost 5 year old Dell, that thing is almost as old as I am and Mommy says it's too slow!)
The Dell may be slowing down, but I'm not!
Anyway, she was glad it was the weekend, and I insisted she pick me up, which she did, and we started dancing around, which is no big thing for me, but when she started tossing me up in the air! :-O Meow-WOW!
I didn't go far, and I barely left her hands before she caught me, and for awhile I trusted her ...
Until. ..
She tossed me up, I got scared, and for some kind of support, I guess, my back claws came out for balance and they gripped on to Mommy's face!
You guessed it .. . Rip!!
She caught me, put me down and checked her face, she thought it was just a scratch, but then.. .
She started bleeding like a stuck pig! After she checked it the first time, she picked me up and kissed me and danced me around for a few seconds, then put me down to go check her face. Imagine what she found! A big scratch, that was really bleeding, and it took forever to stop! She did the old peroxide thing, and washed it off, and kept touching it! Humans!
Then she put a bandaid on it. After a few hours the bandaid came off, and I did kiss her boo-boo!
Now everybody asks her "What happened to your face?" and she says "I had a fight with my cat" or something like that, and the purrsons that know who I am (or the purrsons at her work that've heard stories about me) were shocked.
She hopes it doesn't scar, but I do, cuz she'd have a memory of me even years from now when I'm not on this Earth!
Serves her right!

I've been having fun, journeying out to the hallway!
The other day, our nice little old lady neighbor, who is very fond of me, came over and asked Mommy if her flag on her deck was in Mommy's way, meanwhile she wanted to pet me and I let her while Mommy went to check on the flag situation, and I decided to get closer to her and pad out into the hall, Shirley, the nice lady asked Mommy if it was okay if I came out, I guess she wanted me to come out and play! :-)
Mommy said "I guess so" So I let her pet me, and I walked out into the hallway and laid down and streeeeeeetched out! Ahhh, it felt so nice and ... different.
Mommy's carpet is nice too, and her rugs, but they have hair, and fur and litter even when she gets the growl monster out (don't even mention that monster to me!) So it was nice for a change.
But then I got up and walked further, and Mommy grabbed me, said goodbye to my lady friend, and put me back inside.
Spoilsport!
Then the next day, when Mommy came home from work, she brought her friend Jen AND Jen's dog in with her! She said Jen wanted the video they took of me on her computer, yada yada yada, all that human nonsense, but I do wish my video would show up on Catster! HINT HINT HINT!!!
While the door was open and the dog was coming in with her mistress, I snuck out, after taking a swipe at the former cat-fearing dog, of course. The door closed and I got to have another adventure.
After about three minutes, I wanted to go back in! I meowed a few times, Mommy thought I was in the bedroom first, then she walked toward the door and realized I was on the other side and let me in!
Phew, reminds me of the time I got out on Valentine's Day, three years ago, it's in my diary too.

On my honor I will try
To serve God
My country
and catkind
And to live by the Girl Scout, uh, human law?
I don't think so!
Mommy is leaving us :-( She's going to her Mom's tomorrow and not coming home til Saturday night? :-O Which means I will be alone with Scaredy-cat Sandy all that time!
Anyway, lately I've been sneaking food from Sandy's dish, food that I should not have because I need my prescription food, and Mommy usually catches it, but not before I get a mouthful of un-prescroption nummies!
Well, a girl's gotta live once in a while!
And sometimes, sneaky Sandy comes and steals a mouthful of MY food too!
So tonight she said "Now girls, I'm putting you on your honor! While I'm gone, you eat from your own dishes!"
If she thinks I'm gonna do that, especially with nobody watching me .. . she's blown her firecracker brain! :-)
Wishing a happy, safe, and relaxing Fourth to all my American furry friends!

Women always complain about that, including Grandma "Ooh, I broke a nail!" And even Mommy, who has stubby nails even says that. Now I know what the big deal is all about! I broke three nails!
Mommy had a friend over yesterday, if it ever EVER gets up, watch my Kitty-Go-Round movie, if that is, it EVER GETS UP! And you'll see what fun we had with Mommy and her desk chair. When she was holding me she noticed that my back claws were kinda funny, and that one had split, so she tried to take care of it, but I growled, low at first, then getting meaner and meaner until the friend got spooked.
Mommy left me alone. Until today.
She had had a very stressful day, and we kitties were her comfort so I thought it would be a nice quiet day, but then, she held me again and felt my back paws, I hate that! She found the split nail and got out Jaws, the dreaded clippers and tackled me down and went to work, ignoring my loud protests. The nice neighbor lady must think Mommy's trying to kill me, what with my protests with the pills and Jaws!
She got one nail taken care of, taking the dead part off, and then she found another one, and another. She took care of the second one, with some kicking and screaming from me, then she got to the little toe!
NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
I kicked, I hissed, I even tried to bite! But she tackled me over and over. Boy, that's so very scary, Mommy looks small, but *gasps*
She worked and purrrsevered, unfortunately, almost getting bitten by me (she got bitten twice yesterday, by me cuz I wanted her to lay off) She finally got the last broken nail, took care of it and kissed my "boo-boos" even though there was no blood shed (thank Kat for that) and she freed me.
Then she got the treats out .. . before, I was never gonna furgive her. . .now. . all is forgiven, but I had to think about it for a minute.
Greenies??
All is forgiven!

Well, I know humans like to swim in water, but this is nuts! Even sane people don't swim in their kitchens!
Mommy got this big container, another container to put beverages in. . .again. But I doubt she's going to bring this one to work! It's big and glass, looks kinda like something that could hold treats, small treats or food anyway, it has a lever and a spout to pour water. .. reminds me of that old Drinkwell. . .wonder what happened to that thing? That was another time we swam in the kitchen!
Well, anyway, this thing, I guess is for the fridge, so Mommy, who's really bad at following written directions sometimes, thought that the foam rubber thingy wasn't supposed to be there, and she took it out! Then she filled it with Brita water, but water kept falling on the floor, which confused ditzo Mommy, cuz the Brita pitcher and one end of the glass pitcher was facing the sink, but the other side, the side that should've been in the sink was facing out and water kept falling on the floor!
That was an hour and a half before dinner, water was still on the floor when we were served our dinner!
Eww, I love drinking water, but I HATE stepping in it!
Or wading in it. . .or doing the backstroke in it!
Mommy says it wasn't that high, just enough to slosh around in.
Didn't these humans' mommies ever tell them that playing with water could be dangerous?
