Just when we were having fun ...

Mom said that we won't be able to answer our pmails for a while as she is SUPER busy with today's election up here in Canada. So be patient if we don't respond to gifts and pmails. Meanwhile, Kitcat & I are hoping to actually see the hummingbird? So far, only Mom has had a good look at it.

We got a hummer!!! I was eating my Fancy Feast in the kitchen, and Mom was on my computer, and she got up to stretch and saw a tiny little hummingbird at the feeder!!! We so hope that we can get some video if it comes back! For now, we won't disturb them. We are so excited! It really is spring. I barely saw it but Mom assured me that it will probably come back and bring some friends!

I am so excited about my new main photo! I'm out it the wild and look like I'm not afraid of anything. My eyes are focussed on my prey. Little birdies. I am invincible. I am SurvivorCat!!! Hear me Growl! Mom got the picture from my latest video. (See previous diary entry.)

I am featured in our latest Youtube video. Mom thought it was time to take a video of me going for my daily leash walk. There were lots of birdies, grass and even pretty purple flowers...

Those Chickadees Sure are Cheeky!

I was taking my leash walk, in the wet grass, after a little late spring snowfall. I was minding my own business, as usual, and eating grass. I just happened to be under the bird feeder. The feeder is about 9 feet off the ground. Well, these little chickadees thought nothing of coming to the feeder even though Mom and I were right there! One after another, they would fly to our tree, look at us, and then fly to the feeder and grab a seed and fly back to another tree. I knew I couldn't jump that high (I guess they knew that too) so we just watched. And while I was just sitting there and wishing I could fly, a nasty chickadee pooped on me!!! It almost landed in my eye! Mom busted out laughing and saying something about how she wishes she could have caught that on video. I wish she would have caught bird poop in her own hair instead.

Our Cartoon Was Based on a True Story

We just posted this cartoon for our cartoon group:
Door To Door Salesmen Cartoon
The cartoon was based on a true story. Mom took me for my leash walk last Saturday. There were 2 door to door sales people coming towards us and they laughed and commented on Mom walking "a cat" on a leash and how cute it was. They were still about 50 feet away. Mom said, "Careful, don't spook her, she is feral." Much to Mom's surprise, they respectfully stopped in their tracks and left a pamphlet on our driveway so as not to "spook" me! That was very nice of them to respect me that way. And Mom was thankful to have avoided a big long sales pitch! So it was sort of a true story! Mom gave me extra pets and thanked me for being me!

Look Mom!

We were out in the cat run, longer than usual. Mom came to check on us and I pointed to her that there was a little chickadee just above me! It looked like it might be looking for a home! So, Mom got out her tools and quickly made up what she hopes might work as a bird house for a chickadee. Let us cross our paws and hope the little bird makes a nest there. They eat bugs, are polite, are cute and tiny, and make nice sounds. It won't be in any danger from us as we have a chicken wire top to our cat run.

Mom came home from work and made something to eat ... for her! I was starving so begged for what I thought was turkey. It smelled like turkey (which I haven't had since Mom got divorced 7 years ago). Well, it was tofu!!! Tofurkey!!! Yuck! Mom was surprised when I came for 4 more pieces. I guess it wasn't that bad after all. Kitcat wasn't interested.

A Nice Monday

Mom worked on the weekend but that turned into a good thing. At her workplace, sitting by the dumpster, was the couch from the staff room. It is in really good condition. Mom asked if she could have it. They said "Yes, please take it!" and helped her load it in her truck. Good timing as it started to rain only minutes later. So, this morning has been fun as Mom has been moving furniture around to make room for it. Now she is trying to figure out how to bring it up stairs and into our livingroom by herself! We can hardly wait to get our claws into it. Mom said that is why she wanted it. It won't be the end of the world if we wreck it as it was free! We will get pictures of it if Mom ever figures out how to get it into our livingroom. Anyhow, right now we are running around the moved stuff and having a great old time with this new, temporary obstacle course. And, the squirrel that almost made a home in our attic is out on our deck for our viewing pleasure. It is a great day.

Plan Gone Wrong

The plan was that I would celebrate my birthday later, due to Mom working all day on my birthday. We sort of did celebrate the next day but not enough, I think. In fact, I got nothin'! I didn't even get the white mouse. Mom got too involved with her Canuck game. She was on the edge of my chair while they came back from 2-0 to beat the Avalanche 4-2.
Anyhow, today, just now, she said, "Happy Birthday Squirrel!". Guess what my big present was? A completely clean and unsoiled litter box. I'm thinking, well that is sort of nice, but isn't this more of a gift to my Mom's sensitive nose than to my nose? Which is totally accustomed to Kitcat's stink? What kind of a present is that? It will take Kitcat one minute to ruin it.
So, I would like for my friends to vote on this...
Vote Yes, if you think it is a good birthday gift.
Vote No, if you think it stinks as a birthday gift.
Vote Undecided, if you are not sure about this as a gift for my 8th birthday.
