We just watched this cute video. And, around 1:40 in, there is the most amazing toy!
That is what I am getting. That butterfly toy.

It isn't really a cat toy, it is for yard and garden. But it sure looks like a cat toy to me! Of course, I will let Kitcat play with it too.

It is called the
"Fascinations Solar Butterfly"

We Are Back!

A long time ago, we complained that we hadn't gotten our Christmas presents yet. We finally got them in late January, but we couldn't tell you much about them because Mom was so sick she couldn't type for us. Plus she wanted to get video of them and us and was too sick to even try to do that.
Well they, and we, are too fast for good photos or videos so we decided to tell about them now anyway.
What we got was a pack of 4 wind up toy mice!!!! A white one, a grey one, a brown one and a black one.
When we first saw them, we were shocked as they were huge!!! They looked more like rats than mice. And they move fast. And while they move, their tails spin around. So we are having lots of fun with them. We call them our rats, instead of our mice. Mom managed to get these two photos today:

Our Christmas Toy

Mouse or Rat?

And this is what we got and where we got it from: /

Thank you everyone for purring for our Mommy while she was so sick.

Not getting our mail.
I hope we don't have to go through months of this again.
Come on Catsters! What is going on? We emailed you twice and got no reply.
This might be the end of us being involved with what was once such a wonderful place to be. We are just too weary to figure out what is wrong and try and resolve it yet again.

We still don't have our Christmas presents ... So Mom brought in an icicle for us to play with. Hmmm. We were not too impressed.
Look at our birdie feeder! It is full of icicles!!!

Hey! We were still looking at our icicle when Lobo came in the house and ATE IT!!!

We Got Nothing for Christmas ...

No presents ... no special treats ... Nothing.
But we did get nice gifts and messages from our Catster friends.
And we did get lots of attention and play time and even visitors! We were little angels when we had visitors. Instead of hiding, we came out to be petted and admired.
I woke up Mom every time she slept too long. She really liked that. Ha, ha!!!
But, Mom did say, she had ordered us some special toys but they didn't get here on time. They were on "backorder" whatever that means. So we should have a surprise coming soon.
And it is very white and Christmassy outside, and not too cold.
All in all, it was a very nice Christmas for us all. Lobo got some nice walks in the snow. He couldn't come into our living room as he was not able to do the stairs. He can usually do the deck stairs, but they are all iced over and too dangerous right now. But he has come in the basement and Mom was able to give him lots of attention since she had two days off.
Merry Christmas to all of our friends and a Happy New Year!

I'm TKC's Cat of the Week!!!!
And, Mom was on TV!!! She is the chubby one, with short hair and wrinkly hands and wearing a navy blue hoody. She was directing the news that day. You have to wait for the commercial to play. Then it goes into the news story about her station going HD on Shaw.
Mom at work.

We had a huge dump of snow!
Mom barely made it home from work. She saw lots of vehicles in the ditch and parked. She was on late shift so she was out shovelling our driveway at midnight. We were wondering why she didn't come in right away. She let Lobo out of the back yard while she shovelled, and he romped in the snow in the front yard! There was no traffic at that time of night and they enjoyed the moment. Neighbours have Christmas lights, so it was quite beautiful.
Here is what it looked like this morning!

Me, Kitcat & Lobo, in Dec. 2012:

What a Nice Day

December 4th 2012 3:35 pm

We will consider this an early Christmas.
Both Kitcat and I took turns getting some lap time this morning.
Then, we got to go out in our cat run and enjoy some fresh air. We broke a record for the warmest Dec. 4th in our area since records were kept! 13 C / 55 F
Then, Mom took Lobo for a little walk and stopped at a store on her way home and brought back a "back scratcher". It was for Mom (she cannot reach some of her itchy spots) but Kitcat thought it was for her. So she played with it and I joined her. It turned into our toy and scratcher. We will let Mom borrow it. Then, as the sun started to go down, I settled on Mom's favourite chair and Kitcat joined me. And, she actually groomed me a bit. It is usually the other way around. Me grooming the stinky girl. But this time she cleaned up my right ear and the top of my head. We then settled in for a nice long nap, together.
So, it has been a nice day for all of us.

Kitcat Doesn't Know It!

Kitcat doesn't know it, but she is going on a trip to the vet tomorrow morning.
She has gained quite a lot of weight over the last year. And, her fur has changed. It is thicker and oily. Plus she had some chin acne. Pretty well cleared up now.
But, the reason she is going in is that she has gotten a bit aggressive. Since Mom got back from her road trip with Lobo, there have been a few times when Mom went to pet her that she attacked Mom's hand with tooth and claw. That NEVER happened before. So Mom is assuming that she is feeling some pain? Something is wrong? Or maybe just another phase? Or perhaps the cat sitters over stimulated her? Either way, she is going in for a checkup.
Mom says, I am next. What? What have I done? Mom says I haven't done anything but wants to make sure we are both healthy. But I don't have to worry for a while. I am fine and looking forward to being an Olde Furt next spring!!!
Say a prayer for Kitcat and the vet that has to deal with her!!! Actually, Mom will be the one under the most stress.
