Arrival Story:
Miso was rescued from a high kill shelter by Homeward Trails the day she was scheduled to be put down and was put into foster care instead! My mom found Miso's adoption poster on her last day of a weekend visit to Georgetown from Virginia. She brought it to my fiance and me and we just fell in love with Miso's beautiful face. We were convinced that she was the sister that our little black cat, Oop, had been waiting for! Because my mom also found Oop, it seemed like fate! Three days later Miso came to her forever home where we celebrate kitty adoption days instead of birthdays!

Bio:
Miso's name is the result of having rented Babel, a movie with which my fiance and I were very disappointed. During one of the very long apartment scenes in Japan, the camera shot went to a little white cat. Noting the best part of the movie thus far, my fiance said, "Look! A little Japanese kitty! I think her name is Miso!" From then on when we talked about getting our little boy kitty, Oop, a sister, we referred to her as Miso. When we saw her picture on the adoption sign we just knew that she was the one! She was named Rosie by the staff at the shelter where she spent almost 3 months of her life, so in honor of that name, we kept it as her middle name. Miso Rosie. Has a nice ring to it.
