Aw Man! Now What???!!!

First: I hope that everyone is having a great New Year so far and may this year be even better than ever before.


Second: *Big sad worrisome SIGH* Good news and bad news here. The good news is that Moosh went to the vet on 12-29-11 to be neutered,have a lump removed from his throat,and to be vaccinated. Poor boy. That was a really traumatic experience for him and we all felt bad for him as he was quite depressed for about 5 days. His throat lump turned out to be some sort of cyst,so all is well with that. He had some big problems with the anaesthesia and he went totally ballistic on the clinic staff....so much so that when Mom returned later to pick him up,NONE of the staff wanted anything to do with him and they made Mom go back into the hospital room to get him. AND....since Moosh had two staples closing the incision on his throat,they sent Mom home with a staple remover so that she could remove the staples herself a week later.(which she did and Moosh was totally fine with it. He was really relaxed and didn't have any pain.)

As an added bonus,some of the rest of us are sick. The "Earmageddon" has returned with a nasty vengeance!! So now we all have to go through that whole routine of ear meds. and extra antibiotics. BLAH!

THEN...Mom discovered just exactly which ones of us had suddenly developed some nasty poo issues. Misky,Cole,Ethan,and I are now on meds. for that. All was well for three days or so and now poor lil Ethan started vomiting tonight like you wouldn't believe!!! Mom is pretty concerned and just downright sad about it. Ethan turns 17 yrs old on April 14th and as you can imagine...Ethan may have something very bad going on in her tummy. Mom probably won't get much sleep tonight so that she can stay close to Ethan and she will call the vet. first thing in the morning to get her checked over. It is really hard to watch one of our beloved friends be feeling so sick. I just might cry.( aw heck..I'm already leaking tears.) :(

Mom's also pretty sick still. She went to the Dr. this morning and had to do that whole I.V. therapy stuff AGAIN and get some new meds. herself too. However,she's so dedicated to us fur babies that she always puts her illness aside and provides for us so very well.

So...my friends...I ask you all to once again pray for those of us that are ill. We sure could use all of the help that we can get and we appreciate and love you all.

Life Is Crazy!

Hello friends! Long time no new diary entry thingy from lil ol' me.

It's been really busy and rather crazy here...just one darn thing after another.
1: Mom's been pretty sick. She was admitted to the hospital twice and ended up having two surgeries. She's headed back to the Dr. this afternoon for some more I.V. therapy stuff.
2: Some of us cats have been sick too. "Earmagedon" has been a big hassle. Pete's left ear no longer stands up,Abby's right ear has shriveled up and looks like it barely exists,I got the ear crud too (but with treatment,it's doing fine),Misky still has some serious tummy issues,Ethan is also having tummy problems,Cole's thyroid is still totally whacked,Ernie is being treated for a HUGE cat bite abscess on his back because the MooshDORK bit him (Moosh is getting neutered tomorrow morning),Moosh also has a lump on the left side of his throat so the Dr. will check that out tomorrow too(Ernie has the same type of lump on his chest.) Aye carumba!!!!!!!
3: Mom is looking for a new place for us to live. We all need more room and it's really hard to find a decent place to rent around here as it is and it's even more difficult to find a place that allows pets.


I hope that everyone had a merry Christmas! Ours was pretty darn great. We're looking forward to the New Year with high hopes that that things get A LOT better for us all.

If I don't get a chance to post a new entry in the next few days I want to wish everyone a very happy and prosperous New Year!

This Isn't an Episode of Star Trek???!!!

So there I was. Minding my own business as I walked past my Mom and she says,"Hey Jack? What's up with that whole Star Trek theme that you've got going on on your rear end?" Me: "What???" Mom: "I was just curious because you've got a group of Klingons (cling-ons) hanging out there. Is this going to be one of the episodes with those cute little Tribbles too?" Me: "Oh ha ha...you're a comedian now huh? *insert annoyed(but adorable) Jack face here* Cut me some slack smartypants. You know that I'm a big guy and it's not always easy to get everything properly groomed. Besides,way to show your age by remembering those old Star Trek episodes from when you were a kid." *smirk*


And then we both laughed and laughed. Mom helped me get all cleaned up,we snuggled,and I had my very happy obnoxiously loud purr on.

Ya know...for somebody that's been so sick as my Mom has been...she's got a great sense of humor. She has only been out of the hospital for a few days and is still feeling pretty BLAH and yet she still loves and cares for us as much as she always has.

We're a pretty lucky "herd" here. I wouldn't trade my little family for anything.

Happy Birthday .........

to Charlie!!! She turned 10 yrs old today! Yay!!!!! Ten is a good number.

I HAD to hurry and get online before it turns midnight here and then it wouldn't be Charlie's birthday anymore. We had a quiet little celebration today. Just a bit of 'nip since our supply has finally been depleted. Wasn't a bad day. MooshDORK started the day by punching Charlie on the head and chasing her. He's so naughty!

Mom has given us all permission to defend ourselves against Moosh. So I have been giving back every slap that he lays on me and I'll even knock him down and make him stay there until he whines. Needless to say...he hasn't been messing with me much. Now if we could just convince the girls to fight back too. Abby,Charlie,Lily,and Missy are the only ones that won't smack him back. I don't know why they won't. Even Morgan and Cole will smack him if they need to and they're both over the age of 18!

Ok...it's getting close to midnight so I'm gonna post this and run to get my spot on the bed. I sleep next to Mom's right knee. That's been MY spot since I was little.

Happy Birthday to...Moosh!!

Yes,boys and girls,I'm being nice to him. THE Moosh is one year old today. There has been no real celebration yet today as Moosh has been a total brat and went on a head slapping rampage earlier. He was mean to Lily,Charlie,Ernie,Ben,and me. I don't know what his issue was. He was on a mission to bully everyone. I've never seen him be quite as impossible as he was earlier. He's sleeping right now so it's pretty quiet. I like quiet. =^.^=

So...umm...yeah...weird day today.

Anyway,Happy Birthday Moosh. I still love ya....

In other news: Abby continues to have ear problems. Had the hematoma drained at the vet. the other day and it's back with a vengeance again. Mom will have to drain it herself today. Poor Abby. That can't be any fun. Pete had the same problem and now his left ear has sorta collapsed. Looks like that is what will happen with Abby's right ear. Bummer.

Gee Whiz...

Sooooo.....rumor has it that I was a Daily Diary Pick again yesterday. Silly me. I wasn't online at all so I totally missed it. Pretty cool that lil ol me is a DDP on Halloween though!! Thank you Catster and all of my friends that sent me greetings. Much appreciated everyone. :)

It's been sorta crazy around here yet. After that whole "Ear-mageddon" thing with Ben and Pete.... Pete ended up having two little surgical procedures done on his left ear. That poor ear. It'll never be normal again. It just sorta hangs there. Ear stuff is annoying. So Petey has a goofy looking ear,but our beloved Stinky(may he R.I.P.) had two goofy looking ears and we never thought any less of him. He couldn't help it that his former family never bothered to help him when he needed it. That's why Mom took him in. Looks like "Ear-mageddon" continues here. Abby has an appointment at the vet. in about a half an hour. Huge hematoma on her right ear like Pete had on his left ear.They're gonna have to lance that thing to drain it and they're gonna want to do the button thing like they did with Pete. Mom's not optimistic that Abby will be as cool about it as Pete was. Abs is probably gonna pull the buttons right out so I don't know that buttons will really be a good option for her. She's feeling pretty rough though so off to the Dr. she will go. It's so frustrating,especially because none of it makes any sense...AT ALL.

In good news: We have a couple more birthdays to celebrate in the coming days. Charlie and the MooshDORK both have birthdays coming up. Anxiously awaiting the next chance to break out the 'nip and have some fun.

Ok then. I'm out for now. Mom has to go round up Abby,get her in the carrier,and head across town to the vet. I'll keep ya posted.

A great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Toby and our Mom!!!! Wheeeeeeeeee!!

Today Toby is 18 yrs old and Mom still refuses me to tell you her age. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Wowers! It's hard to believe that Toby is 18. He's a little old man,but being a cat that's 18 is a big darn deal! Soooooo...Toby is 18 today,Morgan turned 18 in August,and Cole is 18.5 yrs old. I bow to them with the utmost respect and love. Whoosh...and here I thought that me being 5 was a big deal. (ok...being 5 is a big deal since I'm so awesome. LOL )

We're about to break out the nice young potent catnip. MMMMMMMMMMM I do so love some great 'nip. I'm excited!!! I'm gonna sit here patiently while Mom goes outside to pick the 'nip. Partyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!


With all of that said.....Happy Birthday Toby and Mom. I love you BOTH dearly.

Happy Birthday Lily!!!

Happy happy joy joy!!! Today is Lily's birthday! She's 4 today!!! Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lily is such a sweet girl. She's pure goodness in every way. She loves to hug and snuggle,but she is constantly being tormented by that EXTREMELY NAUGHTY MooshDORK. Makes me just wanna smack the red right off of him.(considering the fact that he is a red tabby,It's gonna require me to slap him A LOT!) That boy is a bully.

Remember when I was all bummed that our catnip froze outside? Well guess what! It warmed up outside and we have some brand new plants growing out there again. Ahhhh they're fine lookin' 'nip plants and today we shall enjoy some of their goodness. We will also enjoy them tomorrow too 'cuz we have two more birthdays to celebrate.

Tomorrow Toby turns 18 and Mom turns....ummmm....oopsie...I am forbidden to disclose her age. hahahahahahahahahahahaha! =^.^=

Alrighty then...it's time for birthday stuff and I don't wanna miss it. I shall be back tomorrow and update ya on those birthday festivities.

It's a BIG Day for Birthdays!!

Lots of birthdays here today. Today we celebrate Bert,Ernie,Missy,& Bug turning 13 years old! ...and we very lovingly remember their sister Slick who crossed the rainbow bridge 2 years ago. We sure miss her. All of the birthday kitties here have had a quiet day.

Normally we'd have a big celebration,but sadly,our catnip didn't survive the last frost. Bummer. Such silly weather we have here. Sure,it's October so one would expect to have had a few nights of frost and much cooler weather overall...but odly enough it's 88 degrees today. Go figure.....


I haven't written here in quite awhile. Some of us have been sick. My allergies have been awful. Cole has been battling an upper respiratory infection,and Ben and Pete have had some prety yucky ear stuff. Ben and Pete went to the vet. on Monday. Somehow,and we have NO idea how,but Ben got ear mites. None of us ever go outside except for our Dutch pup and he doesn't have mites or anything. And poor Pete has some sort of nasty infection and ended up with a giant hematoma that was also very infected. His ear has been huge and painful. The Dr. lanced it and Mom has been draining it everyday and giving him medication. It still looks awful so he's going to have to go back to the Dr. and get that looked at again. I can't imagine how painful that must be. I feel bad for the big guy.

So....not much else happening here. On the plus side...we've all been getting lots of extra loves and snuggles and those are always nice. It helps ya feel somewhat better too so ya just can't hardly go wrong with plenty of loves and stuff.

I'll try to get back on here more often once we are all feeling better.

For some reason....technical difficulties I think....I haven't been able to update my lil diary thingy. The world has been deprived of Jack Rooney thoughts! Scandalous!

Sooooooooooo I'm giving it a shot now.

On Tuesday,8-16-11,we celebrated Morgan's birthday. She's 18 now. Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!! Yay Morgan!!!!!! A rather uneventful day. Rather quiet. Morgan's not big on parties. She finds most everyone and everything annoying. She's always been a very shy quiet lil girl. As she's gotten older,though,she's become very vocal and demanding. Holy moly she can yell! If you don't do what she wants you to or as soon as she want its...she yells at you. Her voice gets louder and louder. There have been many days when Mom hasn't gotten moving fast enough for Morgan's liking. So Morgan gets up on the headboard of the bed,leans over,and just screams at Mom. Mom jumps and calls out,"I'm up! Give me a minute!" OR Morgan stands on the end table next to the recliner and yells. I swear that she says,"NOW!" It's hilarious! Morgan then runs to her bowls and waits. If Mom doesn't get there fast enough Morgan starts yelling again. I lost count of how many times Mom has stubbed a toe or tripped over one of us to get to Morgan....she always gets fed first and here's a little known secret: Morgan refuses to drink from the 'watering trough' like the rest of us. She ONLY drinks bottled water (Dasani)and only drinks from her own bowl. Spoiled a bit?? =^.^=

It's ok if Morgan is a bit spoiled. She deserves to be pampered. She's awesome. Happy birthday Miss Morgan. I love you.

In the news: Ummmmmmm....not much. Not much at all. Seems weird. We're all just hanging out and doing what we do. Normal stuff.

You're probably wondering why I'm up so late. Hmmm. Blame it on the MooshDORK. Why else would I be up at 3 AM? MooshDORK was chasing Abby and they came blasting through and across the bed. They ran right over Mom's head and anyone that has ever been caught in a cat stampede in the wee hours of the morning knows that once they race across your head you're WIDE AWAKE. Gee...thanks you guys! NOT. So the tv is on and I'm goofing off on the 'puter. I won't be on long though. I see some of the others are making their way back to the bed and Mom's yawning and asking me to hurry and finish here so that she can shut off the PC again.

So I guess I'm outta here for now. Catch you all later at a more reasonable time of day.
