Here I sit writing in my diary thingy. I was doing just peachy and some goofy ad about using power tools and whatnot comes on and deletes all that I had written.. ( antivirus scan is now being run.) Seriously. I'm a cat. I'm not about to play with drills and jigsaws!!!
So...I was saying that I feel like a bozo for not posting Happy Gotcha Day to our doggy Dutch. Sorry 'bout that big boy.
Then I was in the middle of writing an open letter to Mother Nature. I'm not sure just what she's up to,but I'm pretty sure that she needs a new calendar. As I write this,it's -16 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Ummm...that stuff doesn't normally happen until January around here! Color me unamused. (I'm a black cat so everybody just put away your crayons and markers. I'm pretty darn good lookin' if I do say so myself.)
Oh yeah,my Mom isn't the least bit happy about this goofy cold weather either. It makes her car battery go blahhhhhh. Which means that she has to get out the jumper cables and jump start that old girl. Dumb battery is just beginning it's second winter and it's a huge hassle...especially since it's a 5 year battery!!!! Had the car at our mechanic last week and he said that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the car,but the parts place that sold Mom the battery says that there is nothing wrong with the battery. *ahem* I should go bite that guy 'cuz I'm pretty sure that he's full of you know what.
Hmmm...what else?...Oh! Yeah! Thanksgiving was awesome! Smoked turkey and all the fixins'. We all had a few bites and ummm nom nom nom nom nom nom. Totally delicious! My Mom is a great cook. I was looking forward to more of Mom's cooking on Christmas, but I guess she's going to my Aunt Deb's. Bummer!
And then...weather permitting...Mom is going back to the specialists in Omaha on the 30th. It's a lonnnnnng drive from here to there. We all get sad when our Mom is away, but we need her to be feeling better.
Oh boy,I'm babbling again. I should sign off for now. Mom is going to go outside and probably say a bunch of swear words at the cold and at that stupid battery in her car.
Peace out girl scout,

..to Charlie! Today our silly calico girl is 12 yrs old. However, she doesn't give a hoot. Her kids Ben,Pete,& Abby all gave her loves and Charlie head slapped them. Their little feelings were hurt by their mama smacking them. I guess Charlie's age is catching up with her.
It's hard to believe that Charlie is 12 already. Time sure flies. No birthday party. Charlie isn't into the whole party thing. Oh well. To each his/her own I guess.
It's been a pretty quiet day here today. We're just hanging out chillin' and taking it easy. ( cuz a cat's life is so hard! lol)
*yawnnnnnnn* I feel the need for yet another nap,but not until we feed our faces.
Oh boy! Mom's filling our bowls...I have to go or else everybody else will hog the food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday sweet Charlie. We love you so much pretty girl.
Peace out girl scout,

I was a DDP again yesterday! I'm speechless! (So I'm typing. *snicker*) Guys...we totally missed it. We don't get online much these days. We're a bit lazy(?) lately. And now we feel like a bunch of doofuses...
To Catster: I am deeply humbled yet again. You guys are pretty darn awesome. We love you.
To my best Catster friend Smiley...dude you are one of the very bestest!!! You are sooooooooooooooooooooooo appreciated. We love ya man.
On another note: HAPPY BIRTHDAY Moosh!!!!! The Moosh man is 3 yrs old today!
Who'd have thought that the little red tabby brat would have grown so fast?!? Granted,he's still very much a brat...but we love him. Mom was going to go out and pick some 'nip even though it froze, but Moosh isn't a 'nip loving guy. He thinks that it smells and that the rest of us are completely goofy for enjoying 'nip. To each his own I suppose. *shrug*
Ok boys and girls...time to head to bed. Mom zonked out in the recliner earlier and a bunch of us snuggled with her,but we really need to crawl into bed.
Peace out Girl Scout.

..to Lily. Today Lily is 6 yrs old. No big party here. Lil isn't really a party girl. She's shy and quiet. Mom told her happy birthday and Lil bashed her head into Mom and purred...and smiled so big. You can really feel the love around here.
It's been a very difficult time for all of us,but we're hangin' in there. On the 4th of Oct. we celebrated birthdays for Bug,Bert,& Ernie...The 3 remaining FeLv cats turned 14 yrs old. That's a pretty big deal. And we remembered their sisters Missy & Slick who have already crossed the bridge. On the 6th we remembered Stinky's Bridge day. On the 8th we said goodbye to Toby J as he crossed the Bridge and tomorrow we will remember him on what would have been his 20th birthday.
It's hard. We are trying to make that transition. You know...the one that has to happen after one of us passes. Everything shifts. There's a hierarchy thing that changes. Somebody steps up,not necessarily as a dominant cat,but as a cat (or cats) who watches over everyone. I think that we all assumed that Boo would be the wise senior in charge, but at the age of 17.5 yrs,Boo is feeling her age and is still very upset at the loss of Morgan in May and now her dear friend Toby, that she just isn't interested in any type of authority position. She just wants to BE. Surrounded by those that she loves. I think that we've all recognized that and it's ok. For now,Ben has taken on Toby's role as the big older guy that grooms everyone weather they like it or not and I've been more of the disciplinarian with the young guys. Moosh has matured somewhat, but at the age of three,he's somewhat unsure of himself. I'll talk to him. He doesn't quite understand this whole process and needs a little guidance and reassurance. George has sorta been giving Moosh the business lately. They'll have to work through some things, but they'll be ok.
Well,I see that there is a gathering on the bed. Time to form a pile of cats and nap. I think that I'll join the others.
Happy Birthday Lily. We love you.
That is all,

Long time no diary thingy.
We've been through some pretty tough times and the sadness seems endless. Just haven't had it in me to write lately.
We've sorta celebrated a few birthdays. We've remembered the anniversaries of those the have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We've struggled with illnesses of some of our fur family, and sadly we are mourning the loss of our beloved Toby J. My best friend and mentor. The guy that taught me to be the guy that I have grown to be and loved everyone. Toby passed on 10/7/13 and we are completely heartbroken. We've been so sad and downright depressed at the loss of our great friend.
Mom has been very ill too. She just returned from out of state to get the medical care that she so desperately needs. She has finally seen a couple specialists that actually know what they are doing. Specialists that are absolutely furious at the so-called specialists here that completely messed up her diagnostics and diagnoses. So the REAL specialists are working hard to help her. It's going to be a long drawn out process to get Mom feeling better. They have to pretty much start from square one.
The wonderful Dr.Pat and Mom have both known for quite some time what is making Mom so sick, but these bozos around here have been so clueless, wasted time, money, performed unnecessary surgical procedures, and completely missed conditions that were blatantly obvious...all the while insisting that there is nothing physically wrong. Such incompetent idiots!!! I am so angry with these (*insert nasty cuss word of your choice here*) Uggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! !!!!!
So we're just spending quiet snuggle time together comforting each other.
Ok...so that's why I haven't been around.
To our great Catster friend Smiley: Thank you so much for leaving us all the nice gifts on our pages. You have no idea just how much that your caring friendship means to ALL of us.
Ok. I have to go for now. I'm terribly sad. :'(
We love you ALL so very much.

Ummm...I'm a DDP today. Thank you Catster! To my friends that sent me e-mails: You're awesome. We thank you and we lubs ya.
What's new around here? Not much. Same old same old. We did have a bat flyin' around in here a couple of nights ago. We all just sorta sat here lookin' goofy. We don't know anything about bats. There was a time, back in the day, when there was an issue with bats at the other house. However,Alex was always the bat catcher. She'd catch them and hold them down while Mom got the dust pan and the bucket to scoop 'em up and take 'em out and let 'em go. ( No. We do not kill other creatures around here...unless you're like a biting spider or a tick..or something of that nature. Arachnids and certain insects aren't tolerated.) So Mom put on her heavy duty leather gloves and grabbed the broom. Somehow she got the bat to hang onto the broom. Then she gently pulls it off of the broom, tells it that everything is ok...it's safe, and took it outside and turned it loose. Hopefully, the little bat won't go next door and go into that house. The woman that lives there beat a bat to death with a hammer a few weeks ago. Yikes! Mom was pretty disgusted with her and told her how to handle a bat in the future.
So...yeah...that's the extent of the excitement around here. I'm off to get in a good nap before suppertime comes. Catch ya on the flip side...

Hey gang.I'm sorry that I haven't been around. Ya know...sometimes life just kicks ya in the rear repeatedly and ya just plain get overwhelmed by it all.
First off,as some of you know, today our sweet love Morgan would have celebrated her 20th birthday. Sadly, she crossed the bridge on 5/28/13. Today was pretty tough. Today is also my Uncle Tony's birthday. Mom and Grandma and the rest of the family just got back from Tony's surprise party. Happy birthday Tony! You're awesome and we love you.
Since I last wrote in the diary thingy so many things have happened. We remembered some loved ones lost around this time of year,we remembered birthdays of others that have passed,we mourned the loss of the recent passing of our cousin Soloman the Great Pyrenees who crossed the bridge and reunited with his beloved sister Sophie...
Mom was supposed to go see the Drs. at the Mayo Clinic, but after reviewing her records they cancelled her appointments and told her that they have no treatments available for her. Imagine...THE Mayo Clinic has nothing that they can do to help my Mom. Yes,she's THAT sick.
As if all of that stuff wasn't enough, our doggie Dutch injured his back playing with his pals at the dog park. Mom got him in to see Dr, Kevin right away and he is being treated for two bulging/partially ruptured discs in his lower back. He's improving, but he's got a ways to go before he's healed. Cross your fingers that he will be ok. He's only 4 yrs old. And...yesterday Mom discovered two lumps on my back and she cried. I couldn't get in to see the Dr. today and Dr. Kevin will be out of the office all week next week. (that poor guy is so overworked and has a serious need for some time off.) I'm feeling ok,but Mom is concerned and I am too. Lumps are scary.
Toby J. is fading more and more as well. He's nearly 20 yrs old. He doesn't appear to be in any pain or distress..his body is just wearing out. His time is growing so short.
So,here we are: Everything is beating us all up here. We are doing the best we can,but it's sad and stressful around here. I'll be around when I can be,but family comes first and we all really need each other these days.

Today we remember our beautiful little girl,Baby,on what would have been her 22nd birthday. I never got to know her,but I know about her through pictures and the stories that Mom and Toby tell me. Mom and Toby are the only ones left here that had the privilage of knowing her. She was a very sweet loving little girl, but she could deliver a good head slap if one was needed. Toby got a number of those from Baby when he was a youngster 'cuz he was a bit of a handful and Baby just didn't put up with his shenanigans. Baby crossed the bridge on March 1st of 1995. Just four months short of her 4th birthday. Unfortunately, she had been born with a portosystemic shunt that couldn't be fixed. For her to survive and grow as well as she did despite her condition was pretty amazing.
Mom is having a rough day today,so I'm gonna keep this short. We all just need to be close as any family should be and support each other.
R.I.P. Baby girl. We love and miss you so very much.

..Gotcha Day to ME!! YAY me!! So umm yeah...I was a young fella when I was adopted. I was only about 5 weeks old when I came home. I confess that I was a very rambunctious lil dude and for the longest time I was certain that my whole name was Jackgetoutofthere or Jackdontdothat. The other cats found me to be rather annoying for a few days, but all in all we've become a very cohesive and accepting group.
We're not doing and type of little party or anything today. We're just hangin' out tryin' to stay cool. It's a pesky 92 degrees outside so not gettin' much window lounging time. Kind of a bummer because Mom discovered 2 baby doves hanging out around the front yard yesterday and they were back today sitting together on the front steps while their parents were not far away. It was pretty cool to see these babies that have just learned to fly short distances just hangin' out. The parents didn't seem to have a problem with Mom talkin' to the babies and none of them seemed scared at all. Very animal friendly environment around here. They're really quite beautiful birds and so peaceful. I hope that they stay safe. There are a number of stray cats in the neighborhood...
Well, figured that I'd pop in real quick to say hello. It's supper time here and I need to grab my share and then snuggle in for TV time before Dutch needs to go out again and we'll head to bed.

A classic line from the 1993 movie The Sandlot. Great movie! If you haven't seen it,I highly recommend that you do. It's a movie that the whole family can watch together without having to worry about your kids seeing violence and hearing cuss words every 5 seconds.
Anyway, that's the line that first popped into my head when I got the e-mail that I was a DDP again today. And then I got the giggles because I was remembering that movie. (Yes,it is perfectly acceptable for a guy to get the giggles. It does not make you less manly. A REAL guy does stuff like that. He has feelings and isn't afraid to express them. It's all good fellas. Giggle away!)
Thank you so much Catster for continuously honoring me for my writings in my diary thingy. It's really pretty cool. To my friends: as always,we love you tremendously. And even though my Mom teases me about maybe my head is getting bigger,it hasn't. She just likes to mess with me sometimes. She's like that. Smartypants!
UPDATE ON DUTCH: After yesterday's commotion at the dog park,Dutch is kinda stiff and sore, but we're thinking that he will be ok. Mom's keeping a close eye on him and if he stays stiff and sore for the next couple of days, she will take him to see Dr. Kevin who,BTW,also just happens to be April's Dad.(Dutch's friend Buddy's Mom.) Pretty much everyone that hangs out at the dog park takes their animals to Dr. Kevin. He's awesome. We had to make a change in Drs. We just HAD TO. The place that we had been going to for ages has changed so much. It's very stressful out there. Lots of mistakes have been made that are just so completely unacceptable, animals are not being handled with care, and there are issues with the interactions of staff out there that are strongly similar to a very poorly written soap opera. They are also extremely expensive now too. Charging far too much for such substandard care and alienating a lot of their clients. It's sad really. That's the same place where many of my furry family members were adopted from...including me! That place has always had those staff interaction and bad behavior issues, but then they hired this creepy dude to "run" the place. I've met him and I have to agree with my Mom that he's a gigantic boogerhead.
Hang on to your chairs gang,'cuz what I'm about to tell ya next just may knock ya over with disgust. Ok,so,the aforementioned former vet clinic that we used to go to is also in charge of the city pound. The boogerhead dude has now decided that they will no longer allow anybody to adopt GSDs,Pits,Rotties, and Dobe's. Why you ask? Because Mr. boogerhead doesn't like those breeds and is afraid of them. (oh c'mon cupcake. GROW UP!) This town does not have BSL and for you to take it upon yourself to ban these breeds when there are plenty of people willing to adopt them and give them good loving homes makes me physically ill. Perfectly good dogs that have done nothin' wrong except they got out when they they shouldn't have and got lost. And when some owners come in to re-claim their beloved dogs, they get charged crazy high prices and get obnoxiously harassed. Sadly, these innocent souls will be put down because of Mr. boogerhead. Breaks our hearts and Mom is so outraged that she could just...well...you can imagine what any devoted animal lover like my Mom would want to do. DISCLAIMER: Guys,we DO NOT encourage violence ever. It's just plain wrong.
Mom is going to contact our local police chief and discuss this with him and see what he has to say. Think about it. How many innocent lives will have to pay the ultimate price just 'cuz they happen to be of a certain breed. AND let's just say, hypothetically, that Dutch were to run off and get lost and end up in that pound.(That wouldn't happen in a million yrs,but we're being hypothetical here like I said.)Since he is half GSD,his life would be in jeopardy BIG TIME. So,yeah,Mom will do some checkin' and see what's up and this topic has been an ongoing conversation among the regulars at the dog park. Hopefully, they can come up with a plan to stop what is happening and possibly go before the city council and get it stopped. They're not gonna hold their breath tho 'cuz this town is run by some really ignorant folks. Oy!....It's worth a try anyway. I'll let ya know what happens after info is gathered and a plan is made. It's gonna take time and plenty of work to make sure that all of the facts are gathered.
Yikes! Once again I have babbled on quite a bit. Thank you all for indulging me.
My the force be with you, live long and prosper etc. *flashes Spock's Vulcan hand thing*,
