Oh, my beloved banana, filled with catnip, you are my delight. You arrived on Christmas morning, a gift from Meowmy. There were other gifts, but I only have eyes for you. No one is to touch you but me. I will guard you and lay on top of you so that the scheming Autumn Amelia cannot get you. She plots and plans to take you away. I see her watching for her chance to steal you from me, but I shall not let her. Let her play pirate, my banana shall not become a part of her ill-gotten booty. I hug you, wrestle you, lick you, use you for a pillow. You are mine and I shall love you forever, my beautiful banana.

Ishtar tagged me to play Christmas tag. I have to answer the five questions below then tag five friends. Here goes...
1. Do you believe in Santa Paws? Why? /Why not?!
Yes! Yes! Yes! Santa comes to my house every Christmas. He puts presents in my stocking and under the tree. I love Santa!
2. Have you been naughty or nice? Please explain yourself!
I have been purrfect. Autumn Amelia has been extremely naughty.
3. What would you like Santa Paws to bring you? Why?
Toys and treats. Toys should have catnip. Did I mention treats? I definately want treats.
4. What is your favorite Christmas Carol? Why?
Hmmm... I don't sing much. Human singing does not always please me, either. I guess it must then be music from "The Nutcracker" - no singing!
5. What is your favorite Christmas movie? Why?
Ah, now that is easier. I love "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". Why? Because sometimes I'm in a grinchy mood and other times I'm very loving so I can relate to the Grinch.
Now I will tag: Greyson, Pooky, Vincent, Nemo and Emperor Armani

I was tagged by my cousin, Greyson. I must now write 5 things for which I am thankful and then tag 5 of my friends. Here goes:
1. I am thankful for a forever home where I am loved and well cared for.
2. I am thankful for treats. I LOVE treats!
3. I am thankful for all my furrends on Catster. I love you all!
4. I am thankful for my water fountain because I only like to drink from running water and Meowmy won't leave the sink turned on, but I can drink from my fountain any time.
5. I am thankful for soft blankets on Meowmy's and Grandma's beds. They are so nice to snuggle in.
Now I'm going to tag Dash, Horus, Emperor Armani, Martin and Nemo

My very dear friend, Ishtar, is right now hard at work on making a banner with the above slogan on it. We are planning a March on Washington to get the president's attention. We want him to get Congress to enact a law that says that I can go outside whenever I want and that all coyotes, fishercats, foxes and whatever else Meowmy thinks want to eat me will be immediately and permanently jailed for my benefit.
I will finally have the backyard and the woods all to myself (except, of course, for the mice, moles and chipmunks that I like to catch) and will be able to enjoy being outside anytime of the night or day. Hmmm... while we're at it, I wonder if we could get a law passed that says it can't rain or snow or turn too hot or too cold while I'm outdoors.

I think I'm in trouble with Meowmy again. I'm supposed to come in before it gets dark. But last night it was just sooo beautiful out and we've had such horrible weather this summer I just couldn't resist. I heard Meowmy calling and calling me. I even heard her say that Autumn would get all the treats if I didn't come in. That almost worked. I kept debating: treats, outdoors, treats, outdoors. Outdoors won.
It got dark. Really dark. I saw the porch lights come on. I saw Meowmy come to the door every few minutes and call me. I could see her, but she couldn't see me. Then I saw Autumn in the doorway chasing a moth. Autumn was inside and the moth was outside, but that silly kitten still thought she could catch it. It made me laugh. I just had to watch. So I came up onto the porch and layed down, hoping Meowmy wouldn't notice I was there, but she did. She came right out, picked me up and carried me into the house.
"Smokey Jane Frances do you know it's almost ten o'clock at night?" she asked. Do I have a watch? Of course I don't know what time it is and, quite frankly, I don't care.
"You've blown it, you know. You're not going out after supper anymore," Meowmy informed me a little later as I was relaxing on the windowsill.
Meowmy has an obsession with worrying about coyotes. She thinks I am going to become their dinner. I have never seen a coyote. I don't think they exist and I think she made them up just to keep me in at night. I am a cat. I love the night. I can see better than she can at night. I'd know if a silly coyote was after me. *sigh* but I can't open the door by myself, so I guess I am stuck in the house after supper from now on. Life is so unfair.

...only worse this time. My humans have rearranged my ENTIRE palace. Meowmy's bedroom is now a combination living room /dining room (okay, so it was originally a living room, but that was before I came to live here - they sure change things a lot!), Grandma's bedroom is now Meowmy's bedroom and the den is now Grandma's bedroom. My playroom is going to become a guest room once they buy something called a daybed. Does this mean I will have to share my playroom with strangers? It's bad enough that I have to share it with Autumn. And just what is going to happen to all my toys? Will they be moved? All the den furniture got moved to a finished room in the basement that is now an entertainment room. How entertaining could it be? There are no good toys down there and not a single thing is stuffed with catnip. Humans have strange ideas of entertainment.
This horror took place a few weeks ago when four other humans showed up and started moving furniture. Meowmy should have stopped these evil intruders intent on disrupting my palace, but no, she was actually directing them where to put everything! She even fed them! I know them, too. Two are related to Meowmy and the other two are her friends. I will be on guard the next time any of them come into my palace. They obviously have an obsession with moving my things.
I tried my best to keep it from happening. I sat on Meowmy's bed feeling sure that they would not move it if I was on it. Unbelievably the moved it anyway! It is astonishing, I know, and any cat reading this probably won't believe it, but I swear it's true. The one thing I was able to hold down was the refrigerator. They probably would have tried to get that out from under me, too, but I was too much for them.
That silly kitten, Autumn Amelia, did not grasp the severity of the situation. She ran around with these deranged furniture movers and actually seemed to be having fun. Once she did almost succeed in tripping one of them, so maybe she was being more savvy than I give her credit for, but more than likely it was just an accident. She is too young to really understand the ramifications of moved furniture.
The very worst thing of all is that they put a large table right on top of my favorite petting station! What on earth were they thinking?! It is on the sunporch right where the sun streams in the best. My days of lying in a sunbeam while Meowmy pets me are over and all for the sake of some silly invention they refer to as a "breakfast nook." How could this be more important than my sunbeam-filled petting station?
Meowmy says there is still plenty of room on the porch for me to lie down and be petted and lots of windows with other sunbeams to shine in through. Maybe so, but I had a relationship with the sunbeam that came in through THAT window and stretched across THAT spot on the floor. Because that stupid table is in the way the sunbeam can't get to the floor anymore so I can't even find it under the table. I saw it once on top of the table so I jumped up there to say "hi" to my old friend and you would not believe the commotion it caused just because Meowmy and Grandma were eating breakfast at the time. They both started yelling at me to get off the table. Of course, I ignored them and layed down in my friend Sunbeam, but Meowmy actually picked me up and put me on the floor. She will not let me have my sunbeam. It's not fair!!!!
Well, it has been almost three weeks since this unprecedented event took place and I am still finding my way around. It took a while, but I have created a new favorite spot. It is on the back of the couch in the "new" living room / dining room. I can survey quite a large area from that vantage point. So at least there is one bright spot, though it does not make up for losing my sunporch petting station.
I am hearing rumors again of painting. There were rumors once before, but nothing happened. This time, though, paint cans and brushes are lurking in the corner of Meowmy's bedroom so I think she really means it this time.
I do so hate these disruptions. *sigh*

Meowmy has done the impossible! She has actually changed my birthday. Well, in reality we don't even know when my birthday is since I came from a shelter. So, Meowmy originally chose January 17th to celebrate my birthday since that is the anniversary of the day I came to live with her. However, we recently meowed it over and decided that Jan. 17 is way too soon after Christmas. I just got a ton of toys and adding more right away just seems purposeless. Since we were making up a date to celebrate my birthday anyway, we felt it was perfectly fine to change it. So we have decided on May 15. By then I'll certainly be ready for new toys!
Meowmy said that she's still going to give me lots of extra hugs, kisses and treats every January 17th, though, because the day I came to live with her is still a VERY special day!

Autumn Amelia is ruining my whole Christmas. Meowmy finally put up the tree last night - very late in the season, I might add. It should have been up right after Thanksgiving, but Meowmy was afraid to put it up because of what the baby might do. She was right to worry about it. Autumn Amelia is a one-kitten demolition crew. I tried to tell Autumn that when the tree is being put up and decorated we should sit quietly and watch. It is to be savored (especially the part where we watch humans work for our benefit). Once it's up and the lights are strung, then Meowmy gets out the ornaments to put on it. I survey the tree carefully and indicate to her with my delicate paw where each one should go. Soft Christmas music plays in the background and it is a relaxing and peaceful event at the end of which we peacefully nap beneath the tree. At least that is how it is supposed to be done.
That is definately NOT what happened last night. From the very beginning Autumn was nothing but trouble. She pounced on the tree from the moment it was brought into the room and tried to eat the branches. Once Meowmy had it standing up AA immediately got underneath it and started climbing. She kept sticking her head and paws through the branches, batting the lights and the ornaments. Meowmy had to keep yelling at her to stop. It was anything but quiet and peaceful. Meowmy couldn't even pay attention to me so I never got to tell her where to place each ornament and believe me she does not do a very good job without my help. Finally, she'd had enough of Autumn and shut her in the bedroom with grandma, but by then it was almost done.
I never did get to nap under the tree because Meowmy still had to clear a pipe in the basement because the tub wasn't drianing and then she had to take a shower and she couldn't leave the tree unattended. So she closed the door to the tree room - with me on the outside! I don't know why she couldn't have just left Autumn in Grandma's bedroom forever. Probably Grandma couldn't stand her anymore either!
This morning I got up early before anyone else thinking I would get to see the tree in peace, but no, the door was still closed. I was soooo mad. It's all that Autumn Amelia's fault. Boy, did I let her have it this morning. Stupid kitten. Now I'm really worried, though. I'm so afraid that Santa Paws won't come because Autumn is so bad and that will mean that I won't get any presents either. She's ruining everything! Why does Meomwy think she's soooo cute?!
Please Santa Paws, still come to our house. It's not my fault that Autumn is so bad!

You would not believe what is going on in my palace. Without asking me, without even telling me, the hoomans decided to change everything! For the past two days they have been pulling furniture out of two of the rooms and moving everything into MY playroom. They've got it so crowded with their junk that I can't even get to my toys. As if that's not bad enough the vacuum monster has gotten in on the act. Somehow I think Vaccum is behind all of this. He probably talked them into it. They aren't too bright and can easily be led astray. He's been everywhere. He's eating stuff in all the rooms that are emptied of their furniture. He even swallowed one of my mousies! Ha ha ha on Vacuum, though, because mousie got stuck in his throat (or his hose, as he calls it) and choked him. Unfortunately, it didn't kill him and one of those stupid hoomans came to his rescue. The only good thing about that is that mousie was rescued, too.
One of the rooms is put back together, but they did it all wrong. All the furniture is in a different place than it was before they took it out. Don't they even remember where their own stuff goes? I'll bet they can't put the other room back together correctly either.
Oh, and they took the desk that I like to sit on to look out the window out of its room and put it in my playroom. From what I can tell they intend to LEAVE IT THERE! It's not even near a window! What good is it to me now? I plan to throw everything off of it. They will not be able to keep a thing on that desk. Everytime they put something back, I'll throw it off again. That will show them what I think of their idea to mess up my playroom.
What is wrong with hoomans? Does a lack of fur equal a lack of intelligence? Don't they know cats do not like to have things changed? I already knew where everything was in my palace. Things were just as I liked them. Now it's all changing. I have to get used to all new furniture arrangments. They just better hurry up and get it all out of my playroom. Oh, my cat! I just thought of something. What if they plan on rearraning my playroom?! Noooooo! I can't even think about it. *runs off in a hysterical fit to hide in a corner*
