Meow, yesterday I discovered that I really like pastrami. I found this out when dad gave me a little from his sandwich after he noticed me sitting and sniffing in his direction while he was eating it. I don't usually like human food, but the pastrami was great! I want some more today. Felix said I would be able to get plenty if I made sure to use the "starving kitty" routine, but I don't think that will work--if you look at my primary photo you'll see why. *giggles* Perhaps if I just hang around the refrigerator while they're in the kitchen. . . .

One of my most important jobs in managing the household is to go into the linen closet and check things out. The humans usually leave the door slightly open so I can get in and out, and I jump up to the first shelf to inspect the beach towels that are stored there. Well, yesterday I was feeling particularly active, and I jumped up really high--to the second shelf! That was great. There were some nice soft flannel sheets for me to investigate, and I decided to have a nap. That was fine, but when I woke up I was hungry and wanted to go and have a snack. But when I looked down, I started to get anxious--it seemed like such a long way! I was afraid I might hurt my paws jumping down that far, and on to a wood floor rather than carpet, too. So I started meowing loudly. Finally a human came to investigate (they certainly are slow!) and lifted me down.

That's the way to do things--climb or jump up high, and then take the elevator the other way!

Today was the first day of the new year! My humans stayed home with me and we watched movies together. Whenever a cat appeared on the screen I jumped up to investigate--but, you know, movie cats never smell right!

Not much sun today. Cloudy, gray weather makes me feel even more sleepy than usual. . . . Mom says it affects her the same way. We had a nice afternoon nap together on the sofa. Other than that, not much has been going on.

What a nice day I had today, with mom and dad home! Neither one stepped outside the home territory even for an instant, except to pick up a newspaper from the driveway outside. That's the way I like it! You might wonder why it's so important to me to keep my humans inside all the time, considering that I nap half the day anyway. I can't really explain. I only know that I feel so happy when we're all here together. . . .

So many kitties sent me rosettes on my birthday! It was kind of them to remember me. I love all my Catster friends!

*lies on back and rolls from side to side, purring loudly*

My birthday celebration is over now but I'm sure I'll remember it all year!

It's snowing at my house. Dad is coming home early--yay! I don't like looking out at the snow. It's dad's job to clear it away for me so I don't have to look at it!

Mom was out all day yesterday and that was extremely annoying. I like to have at least one of my attendants home all the time! If neither one is home, there is no one to watch me eat (I love an audience) or to interrupt my naps with some nice neck scratching. I certainly hope she stays in today! On the bright side, a big snowstorm is expected tomorrow. That means that both mom and dad will have to stay in--that will be great!

I used not to be very interested in watching TV. But recently I've enjoyed watching football with dad. He likes this team called the "Redkits" or something like that (strange! They don't look like kitties at all!) and they don't play very well. I try to help by jumping up to the screen and trying to catch the ball. If only they would throw it to me, I'm sure I could help!

Today is my birthday! At my house we don't celebrate birthdays for only one day. Instead, we celebrate for a whole week. Mom, dad, and I all have December birthdays, so this is a fun, busy time for us. Dad had his birthday week two weeks ago, and mom had hers last week. This week is mine, and I expect lots of toys, treats, and attention!

*giggles*

I've already got my card--we do that on the lucky creature's birthday eve. For the rest of the week, I expect it will be something like this, the way it was last year:

*sings*

The first day of my birthday my humans gave to me
My own little leather handbag to sniff so I don't have to play with mom's all the time!

The second day of my birthday my humans gave to me
Two new pink collars
And my own little leather handbag to sniff so I don't have to play with mom's all the time!

The third day of my birthday my humans gave to me
Three extra brunch treats
Two new pink collars
And my own little leather handbag to sniff so I don't have to play with mom's all the time!

The fourth day of my birthday my humans gave to me
Four catnip mousies (like I don't have enough already? *giggles*)
Three extra brunch treats
Two new pink collars
And my own little leather handbag to sniff so I don't have to play with mom's all the time!

The fifth day of my birthday my humans gave to me
Five jingle balls!
Four catnip mousies (like I don't have enough already? *giggles*)
Three extra brunch treats
Two new pink collars
And my own little leather handbag to sniff so I don't have to play with mom's all the time!

The sixth day of my birthday my humans gave to me
Six new pink nail caps
Five jingle balls!
Four catnip mousies (like I don't have enough already? *giggles*)
Three extra brunch treats
Two new pink collars
And my own little leather handbag to sniff so I don't have to play with mom's all the time!

The seventh day of my birthday my humans gave to me
Seven soft new blankies
Six new pink nail caps
Five jingle balls!
Four catnip mousies (like I don't have enough already? *giggles*)
Three extra brunch treats
Two new pink collars
And my own little leather handbag to sniff so I don't have to play with mom's all the time!
