Throwing Up

Early this morning I was snoozing on daddy’s pillow, above his head, when I suddenly awakened and decided it might be nice to throw up. No big deal—I’m just into recreational vomiting. I knew daddy wouldn’t mind, so I threw up right there on the pillow. And he didn’t mind. He just opened his eyes immediately and got out of bed to remove the old pillowcase and put on a new one, and otherwise clean things (that’s my dad—he always “mans up” to take care of his little princess). He didn’t disturb mom, so I went to sit next to her head until he was finished. Then we all went back to sleep.

A New Nap Spot

I found a new place to nap today!

Usually, when mom practices playing her violin, I help out by rubbing her legs to give her encouragement. After all, she doesn’t play very well, and she needs all the encouragement she can get. But today she seemed to be doing okay by herself, and I was feeling a bit sleepy, so I looked around and found a perfect nap spot—inside her violin case! It was just the right size for me to curl up in, and besides, it has a soft furry lining that was very nice and warm. I don’t see why I shouldn’t make use of it, if the violin is busy being played by mom. I can even decorate it with some of my fur; after all, it’s shedding season!

Spring Tag

Tiger tagged me to play the Spring Tag game, so here it is:

Five things I like about Spring are:

1. The sun is bright and warm--good fur my daytime napping.
2. More birdies are flying around and even coming near our window, where I can watch them.
3. Sometimes lady bugs get into the house, and I like to watch them, too!
4. The windows are open more so I can enjoy the spring scents.
5. My humans are obviously much happier--they were so tired of winter!

Now, I'm supposed to tag five furriends, in case they might want to play.

A Silly Dream

Mom told me she had a dream about me last night!

She says that in the dream, she and I were on a special mission to catch an evil alien who was trying to destroy the earth with some kind of scary witchcraft. She says I was very brave—I chased the alien right along with her and at one point even ran up a long, steep staircase and jumped up and gave the alien a good swipe! *giggles*

In real life, of course, I make it my business to run away from evil aliens, not towards them. I think it is much smarter to hide under the bed. And you know what? If I were under the bed hiding from an evil alien, I bet mom would be right there with me! MOL! She’s not so brave either!

I think it’s time fur mom to stop watching science fiction shows like “Dr. Who” on TV. Obviously, they’re having a bad effect on her.

My birthday

I had a nice quiet birthday at home yesterday, with presents fur me from my humans (catnip mousies and "big mama" scratchy mats) and from a lot of my furriends on Catster. Thanks and appreciation to you all! You will each be hearing from me individually.

I also had mom and dad bring a case of food to the town animal shelter, where I lived between the time I was on the street and the time I adopted my humans and came to live here at the Cat Mahal. I think, on our birthdays, we should make a special effort to remember the less fortunate. There are a lot of kitties out there who need help!

A Good Idea

At least ten times a day I run to mom and shove my head into her hand, and she gives me some nice head, chin, and neck scratches. I think this is an excellent arrangement. Or, when dad is around, I jump up to one of my petting stations and immediately get attention. That is, of course, as it should be.

The problem I have is at night, when they are sleeping. Last night, for example, I jumped up on the bed and shoved my head into mom’s hand, which was lying on her pillow, repeatedly, and nothing happened. So annoying! Who said the humans could go off duty to sleep?! If they absolutely have to sleep sometimes, I think they should set their hands to be activated by my head and then run automatically. Isn’t that a great idea? I’ll see if I can train them. *lies on back and rolls happily from side to side*

Downsizing!

Yesterday mom and dad took me to the vet for a rabies shot. What a horrible experience! It's not that I am afrain of the vet, or care about being handled or stuck with a needle. But I hate, hate, HATE to leave my palace! For any reason! I gave the humans a big lecture on the subject while we were in the car, but they didn't seem to be paying attention.

Meow--and then to get insulted, too! The vet put me on the scale, and found that my magnificent presence had increased nearly a pound since last year. He said I need to downsize--how disagreeable! I hope dad, who is in charge of refilling my food dish, is not getting any bright ideas about making me wait longer when it is empty. I simply won't stand for it! *flips tail angrily*

Damp weather

The weather at my palace has been really damp, gray, nasty, and chilly for several days. It’s hardly worth the effort to get up from bed, except to eat—so that’s what I’ve been doing, mostly—just staying in bed. I wish the humans would stay with me, but you know how humans are—they’re diurnal, and they just don’t spend enough time sleeping anyway, in my opinion. So I just wrap myself up completely in a pretty throw mom puts over the bedspread and spend nearly the whole day there. Meow, I do wish the sun would come out!

I had fun

I had a really fun time as Cat of the Week. It was so exciting to see my picture up there on the community home page! I received lots of messages and gifts from more than fifty kitties and family groups--I felt really loved. But really, what I enjoyed most was the opportunity to reconnect with old furriends and even make some new ones. It was so wonderful! Thanks again to all.
