When will the clouds go away???

It seems a dark cloud has fallen upon Caster/Dogster, and there is so much sadness and disappointment regarding all the changes going on. Change is so hard, especially given the changes which are taking place. I really admire each of you for staying true to your heart and yourselves and standing up for what you believe in…..together, I believe we can make a difference. I want to thank you for speaking out….for speaking up….for coming together for change. In this case, “the sum is greater than its parts.”

I hope Catster/Dogster is filled with smiles and happiness again one day very soon…for this is our happy place…..I want you to know I am watching over you and never far from your heart. You all are so important to me. You are my family….and I will continue to send sunshine to you all.

“Keep your face always toward the sunshine - and shadows will fall behind you.”

Power of the paw for grandma...

Dearest Friends,

Thank you so much for all the love and support for my grandma. She is stable and coming home.

Mommy asked me to give you an update on everything. For those of you who are not aware of the recent and sudden change in grandma’s health, here is a little recap: Grandma has been feeling so well since getting steroid injections a month ago for her pain, she really did not notice the change in herself until a little over a week ago. She was "not feeling right." but was not able to come up with anything....so life went on as usual.

For the past week, grandma noticed some shortness of breath on minimal exertion....and feeling tired and somewhat dizzy. She told mommy about it, but did not feel it was bad and was resolving. Mommy and daddy were keeping a close eye on her. Mommy daddy and Grandma and Papa were involved in an injured mommy and baby duck rescue Sunday afternoon. Wow, that was a lot of physical exertion for all of them. After the duck rescue (they are all safe now), my grandma realized she could not catch her breath. After resting she was okay.

Monday she was okay, as she was not doing much. Tuesday, she was getting concerned and described her symptoms to mommy. Mommy immediately called the doctor and made an appt. They went to her doctor and she was sent to the ER. Grandma is a strong lady and really did not want to stay at the ER and tried to tell mommy she was okay and they could go home!!! She felt it was not that serious. Well for those of you who know mommy, she was not taking Grandma home until she was checked out…so they stayed and she was evaluated....to their surprise, she was found to have severe, multiple and large blood clots in both lungs. As they put it "too many to count." She should not be with us now, but thankfully, she is. She had this similar type of episode in 2002 and the exact cause was never found so it was thought to be a result of a medicine she was taking for osteoporosis....well, guess that was not right!

Mommy has been staying at the hospital with her and they have yet to find where these clots are coming from. They have started a whole battery of tests and the results will be in within a week to 10 days. They are checking for genetic blood disorders and much more. If all these tests are negative, they will begin their search for the cause in other places.

As most of you know, pulmonary embolisms are usually fatal. Grandma has now survived them twice. We don't want a third time. Her lungs are still full of clots, but they are slowly being dissolved with medication.

She has been released on different blood thinners and is resting at home. Her kitties were so happy to see her. Sissy was also so upset and she didn’t know where her grandma was. Mommy and her parents live 6 blocks apart and Sissy stays with them when mommy and daddy work. CK was very confused with mommy being gone overnight, etc. We have a long road ahead of us...and will have to really make sure she remains stable as these clots continue to dissolve. The injection therapy at home is not going well and mommy and daddy are going over to assist this AM.

This has been a scary fast paced journey the past few days...and it is not over. Mommy tried to let a few of you know as you wouldn’t see me as often and she didn’t want you to worry. Also, we need all your support and power of the paw. Grandma and mommy are so close…closer than most know. They are best friends. My Grandma is strong, feeling well, and in good spirits. She is so strong....this episode only reaffirms for mommy again, where she finds her strength and tenacity....what a remarkable woman Grandma is…our rock....our inspiration.

Thanks for all the love and support. We will keep you updated with any news or changes.

Also, Daddy’s colonoscopy went well. He has gotten another clean bill of health. No cancer anywhere!! We are feeling so grateful. Please remember to take time to enjoy life and to tell those you love.....that you do love them...we never know what each day will bring.

Mommy will be going back to work, taking care of Grandma, etc….and you know her health is not the best so it will be hectic for a while.

Please know if we are not here as often, we are here in our hearts. We love and appreciation you all.

Sunshine hugs, Jazzi Sunshine Angel, CK and Sissy

Happy Easter precious friends!

My family and I wish you all the happiness, peace, joy and love this Easter Day….and always. Today is a special day for so many reasons. Not only is it Easter, it is the day I get to wear my new angel wings. Many of you have often wondered and asked….why I don’t have wings….as I have told you all….my wings and spirit come from the sun…..as I find peace, warmth and the joy of giving from the sun….I am the sunshine angel.
Mommy and I didn’t think regular angel wings depicted my spirit…..and it has taken a while for my special wings to find their way to me….last night, my precious Auntie Janeen, had them arrive at the Bridge via special delivery to me….mommy and I were speechless….as they took our breath away.

I am so honored and proud to receive the gift of my sunshine wings….although they don’t change who I am….they add to the beauty of who I am….they are incredibly beautiful and my sunshine wings were well worth the wait. Thank you Auntie Janeen….

I hope they touch all of your hearts as they have touched ours…..

As Thomas Burke said: "True friendship brings sunshine to the shade, and shade to the sunshine."

Wishing you the warmth of the sun, the peace of the spirit, and the love of the heart…

Sunshine hugs of appreciation,

Way to go sweet Sis! You deserve it. I am sending you angel hugs of sunshine and love. I am posting her diary engtry below....thought you might like to read it. It's sweet:

"When I woke up this morning, mommy told me I was the Dogster Dog of the Day!!!! What???? Me???? I had to rub my paw over my eyes and make sure I was awake and not dreaming….did I hear correctly…..dog of the day???? “Yes, pretty girl,” she repeated!!!! Wow!!!!! I have been on Dogster many years now and have had the great honor of being a Diary Pick of the Day, the Dog of the Month in the groups, Canadian Golden Retrievers Who Want To Be Friends With Other Goldens and Hanging With The Big Dogs….but Dogster Dog of the Day is the icing on the cake!

Thank you for this wonderful honor….sure did make me smile. I know mommy is smiling too, as she says it means so much given my age, but more importantly because of the incredibly special heart I have and share with others….Gosh, I feel like the lucky one….as Dogster/Catster has become part of my family…I have made such incredible and loyal friends and could ask for nothing more….my life has been made complete with being rescued, loved and surrounded by pawsome friends. My heart overflows with happiness and sunshine each moment of every day. I even have a wonderful boyfriend to share my heart with….wow, love you Boss!

Thank you again….for picking me….as Dog of the Day!!! To be honest, I feel like the special dog of the day every day because my life is so full of happiness and love.
We really appreciate the rosies, stars and gifts already coming in!!! Please know mommy may not be able to type a personal thank you to each of you, as she is still on limited pc use due to her flare of medical issues.

Put your paw over your heart…I am there and remember what I always say, OUR HEARTS ARE CONNECTED BY PAWS!!

Dear friends,

It is beautiful here at the Bridge...full of sunshine, flowers, gentle rain, peace without end....

I wanted to send you a special wish for St. Patricks Day. It is an old Irish/Celtic Blessing. Mommy has a tad bit of Irish in her....I am not sure about my fur-siblings or me....proably so, as I think we all have a bit of everything within in!!!

"An Old Celtic Blessing

May the blessing of light be on you—
light without and light within.
May the blessed sunlight shine on you
and warm your heart
till it glows like a great peat fire. "

Wishing you a great St. Patricks Day/Week.....one full of sunshine and love!!

Hello special friends,

Thank you for understanding that my mommy has not been able to type for a while due to her recent accident and subsequent health issues. Knowing each of you care and are continually sending the healing power of the paw for us all......means more than words can say. We are grateful for each of you.

The rosies, gifts, encouraging caring pmails, cards, emails, phone calls....the beautiful healing green scarf from Hazel Lucy....wow, we feel honored and loved.

Thank you doesn't seem to be enough, but it comes from our hearts.

To update you a little on my earth family...Sissy is on another round of antibiotics for that nasty cough.....phew!!! It seems this will be a regular thing for her now....her tumor is still growing slowly back....but she is doing great. Happy, smiling and loving life.

My fur kitty brother, CK, has had a rough month or so....his IBD has really been stirred up. I guess as you age, it gets harder to control....you know, he is 20 plus....so....it takes more for him to bounce back. He feels the love and healing wishes and absorbs them into his heart.....he is doing better now and has more good days than bad and that is all that matters.

He had one of his fear based episodes and bite the heck out of mommy's hand....mommy was talking to Hazel's Lucy's mommy on the phone today when it happened.....he doesn't mean too....he just does. Hazel Lucy and her mommy were so supportive.

Well, better go...............remember to put your paw over your heart....we are there.

“Whatever we are waiting for – peace of mind, contentment, grace, the inner awareness of simple abundance – it will surely come to us, but only when we are ready to receive it with an open and grateful heart.”

– Sarah Ban Breathnach (Author of Simple Abundance)'

To all those who face obstacles, challenges and difficult times, we are sending the power of the paw and wishing you the strength to endure the challenges you face.

To all those we have departed to the Bridge, we honor you....for your love and sparkling spirits light our skies with glowing sunshine and love.

Our hearts are connected by paws....always and forever.

Good Morning Friends,

I never seemed to be amazed at all the support, love and sense of community found on Caster/Dogster. No matter what life throws our way....I can always find strength and support with all of you. I find comfort in the knowing awareness, we are never alone. Just wanted to say thank you for being part of our lives and leaving paw prints forever in our hearts.
