We are bankrupt!

Mommy says we are bankrupt. No, the cat doctor has not bankrupted us, although he is still working on it.

It's our Catster bank account that is bankrupt. We have been all out of rosettes and zealies for DAYS now! I found out that my buddy Alex is COTD, and I can't even run over and smother him with love! I have a whole yard full of acorns, but no way to share them! I can't believe our bankruptcy coincided with new rosettes!

Mommy did pay for a whole bunch of new zealies (days ago), but they have yet to appear on our account. Mommy sent a message to HQ, and they are supposed to be there tomorrow. Then we can make up for lost time!

Anymeow, I am sitting here on Mommy's lap while she types for me. It's hard to type with such big furry hands like mine. I am purring very loudly for all my sick friends on Catster.

I was just telling my new friend, Spunky, about my favorite show, Meerkat Manor. It's on every Friday on Animal Planet.

Well, Mommy and I just watched it, and something very bad and sad happened on tonight's episode. I won't spoil it, in case anycat has not seen it yet.

But I had to step outside to get some air, and Mommy has yet to stop crying since we finished watching it. :-(

Bloodwork is back!

Well, I guess all that effort at the v-e-t on Tuesday was worth it!

The v-e-t office (otherwise known as the place that takes all our money) called today. The doctor said my thyroid level is finally purrfect! All my numbers were good!

I have to have my urine retested after four weeks on my new food. If my specific gravity comes out normal then (it's abnormal now) then I am off to get Radiocat! Then no more pills, and my thyroid will be cured furever!

I am kind of feeling under the weather today. Mommy actually let me skip my thyroid pills last night because I threw up and lost my appetite for most of the day. I seem slightly better today, but Mommy is still very worried. Daddy says that is just because Mommy worries way too much. I hope he is right!

OH. MY. GAWD.

Oh goodness me! I should have known there was trouble when Mommy left me on the porch last night all by myself with my water and some special cat litter that enables her to collect a sample of my pee.

Sure enough, she woke me up from my nap today and shoved me into the carrier! Thank goodness the ride to the vet is only 10 minutes, because Mommy is sure she could not stand much more of my crying!

This is what happened when I got there:

-I peed all over my carrier. They just wrapped up all my wet stuff and handed it back to Mommy in a plastic bag, then relined my carrier with dry stuff.

-I peed all over the examining table.

-I peed all over the hand of one of the vet techs who was holding me down for my needle.

-When I was getting my needle, I screamed bloody murder so loudly, that the doctor wondered aloud what the folks in the nail salon next door must think he is doing!

-I scratched the doctor.

-It took two techs and a bath towel to hold me down so the doctor could draw my blood.

Mommy likes that this doctor does all the "bad stuff" like needles right in the room, but she also says it's very tough to watch. The doctor and his techs kept on asking Mommy if SHE was alright!!! Hey, I am the one getting poked like a pincushion!

Anyhow, my urinary crystals are gone! I gained back the weight I lost when I got sick with hyperthyroidism. The doctor says I feel strong and muscle-y to him. My urine is a little too diluted, but the doctor said this might be from my prescription food, so he prescribed yet another kind of food! My heart murmur is gone, and my ears are just a little waxy.

Now we just have to wait for my blood results to come back to see if my thyroid is any better and how my kidneys and other organs are functioning. It might be almost time for Radiocat this time!

Oh, and he said my sneezing and coughing is nothing to worry about. My lungs are clear, and I probably just have a touch of the allergies.

Mommy was mortified at how badly I behaved, but the doctors and staff just smiled and said it's ok! That is partly why we love them! Still, I am sure they were not sorry to see me go.

I was glad to get home, and glad to get the Trout Feast that Mommy promised I would get for being a good boy. Even though I was NOT good, she still loves me so and wanted to make me feel better. All is forgiven now!

Oh...yummy yummy Trout Feast! Is there any problem you can't solve?

Oh no! Not the V-E-T again!!!

Mommy must really love giving all our money to the v-e-t, because I have an appointment next Tuesday to go there...AGAIN. Mommy said at first no more vet visits unless there is an emergency until she finds a new job.

Well, there is no emergency, but she thought that since I am overdue to have my thyroid rechecked, she would take me in while she has the time. The vet is not open on Saturday, so once she goes back to work, then maybe I can get some relief from these constant trips!

In addition to checking my thyroid, they will check my blood, and Mommy will collect a urine sample to make sure my kidneys are still ok and that my crystals are gone.

I also have developed a barking cough that Mommy is worried about. I am not coughing a lot, but enough for Mommy to want the vet to check me. Gosh, a guy can't even clear his throat around here!

Even though Catsy gets all the attention around here, I am Mommy's most special kitty. Kiki is Daddy's special kitty, and Catsy is just extra special!

Cat Smell in Your Home?

Every time I see that banner on Catster that says "Cat Smell in Your Home?" I think of Mommy. No, she does not smell like a cat, but she always worries our house does. Every time a trusted visitor comes over, she says, "Hey, does my house smell like cats?" So far, everyone has said no, but she sure does hope they are not fibbing. She keeps on top of the litterboxes really well, but I occasionally fail to use them! (On such occasions, the Simple Solution advertised does a great job.) I have been MUCH better though. Still, she is always fretting about cat smells. I don't know what the big deal is. I purrsonally think cats smell nice!

Man of the House!

Well, in addition to Lord of the Manor, I am now going to be Man of the House! Daddy is leaving tomorrow to go to Vermont for the weekend with his "guy friends" and is leaving Mommy home all alone with us cats. At first I begged Daddy to take me too. After all, I am one of the guys! But Daddy said that I need to stay home and take care of Mommy, Kiki and Catsy, who are all just girls.

I guess someone has to be the Man of the House, so I will do it! Besides, once I found out there was a car ride involved, I thought maybe staying home did not sound so bad!

Love Muffin Wanted

My Mommy says she misses us! Kiki and I LIVE on the screen porch and don't even sleep with her anymore. That is partly because Catsy is in the bedroom and Mommy is protecting her from us! But Mommy remembers when I used to play with her and sit on her lap and watch teevee. Now I come in to eat and then sit at the door to go back out! Mommy even sat with us on the porch today and said she is learning how to be a cat! That can't be good.

Catsy doesn't give Mommy any love either! Mommy thinks she needs another kitty that will just be cute all day and want to do fun stuff like go strolling or play mousies. She said she wants a cat that really makes her feel kneaded!

I think she is just bored and lonely because she has no job right now and is home all day, but I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know Daddy would never say that! Anyhow, Daddy said "NO MORE CATS!" so that is that. But Mommy is secretly searching Petfinder for something she calls a Love Muffin. She knows she is not getting one though!

Grandkids vs. Grandcats

I heard Mommy and Daddy getting an earful from Grandma Mimi when she was here about how she wishes she had some Grandkids in addition to her Grandcats! What in the world she could be talking about? I told Kiki that Grandma Mimi was hoping that Mommy and Daddy would have some baby goats, and she laughed and rolled her eyes and said Grandma Mimi wants HUMAN grandkids! Oh no! I would rather have goats! Kiki said that I should not get too worried, because she has heard Mommy say that cats are better than kids because we don't poop our pants and she does not have to to send us to college either. Hey, that is true! I don't even have pants!

I love Grandma Mimi!

I love my Grandma Mimi so much! Kiki is afraid of her and Mommy is afraid to let Catsy near her, so I am her only cat friend! I love to rub my head on her legs. Her wheelchair does not scare me. I like when she sits on the couch and I can sit with my head and arms on her lap. She likes it too! She pets me and tells me I am a good boy.

I have been SO good while the company is here that Mommy has been letting me eat Fancy Feast canned food every day! I think I will try being good more often!
