I can't believe that it's almost March. I'm so excited that Catster isn't shutting down! What a pawsome relief that is for all of us!

We've been busy around here and the weather has been a roller coaster ride. We've had deep snow which has melted because of the heat wave we had this weekend. It got up to 63 degrees both days. Unfortunately, a cold front is heading this way tonight and we'll drop to 43 degrees during the daytime tomorrow. More snow is expected on Wednesday. I hope not! We've had too much snow already. Believe me, I'm ready for springtime!

Anyway, I got to run. It's time for my beauty sleep.

Just think that two years ago tomorrow, the vet's office accidently gave Mommy a bag of dry dog food instead of dry cat food. At first, I thought she was bringing home a dog. Horrors! It was just a mistake and Mommy was able to return it. Thank goodness she didn't open the bag accidently!

It's hard to believe that happened two years ago! It seems just like yesterday!

From then on, Mommy always double checks the bag of Royal Canin SO to make sure it's not the dog kind again.

Anyway, this is my sad entry. I, too will miss Catster. I love Catster! I grew up on Catster! Purrlease, someone save our beloved site!! PURRLEASE!!!

Also, a lot of our friends are on FB so we'll keep in touch. Some aren't on FB and it'll be goodbye. Sad, very sad!

Anyway, I'll try to blog as much as possible until that sad day of March 3rd.

Mommy is currently having computer issues and a new DSL modem will be arriving here some time (hopefully) by the end of this week. Anything we do is on her IPad or iPhone now and photo reordering can't be done on those. That's why we still have our Catmas pages up on my birthday. Maybe she can fix my page during her lunch hour at work. We'll see.

Anyway, everything else is going great! In fact, Mommy just got in touch with an old childhood friend the other day through a group on FB! They both are so excited about how you can hook up with people you haven't seen in a long time via computers. She found another old friend from the 1970's last year and she doesn't live far away. Her new found childhood friend lives is sunny Florida!

Well, that's about it for now. It's almost breakfast time.

Purrs and Breeps,

P.S. Mommy took a pic of me singing Happy Birthday to meeee! It's now on FB and will be put as #1 on my page during her lunch hour. It's now the last pic on my page (IPad doesn't work on reordering pics)

My 8th birthday will be on January 14th! It'll be great to be 8! I'm the third oldest cat in the house and the biggest!

Aside from that not much going on except Joss still keeps trying to rub against me and always hangs around me in the dining room when Mommy eats her dinner. The other cats are usually upstairs in her bedroom.

Lastly, Mommy was having troubles with her Ipod as Itunes wouldn't recognize her nor sync her music. She went to the control panel and checked "repair" for the Itunes program and everything is fine now. She got over 600 songs synced to her Ipod. There must have been a glitch in the program.

She's glad of that as her Ipod was showing "0" songs before she did the repair. That's a big relief as she thought she would have to unintall the program and put it back in which would be a big hassle.

Lastly, I'm glad Bail's ear's healing nicely. He got less of a piercing than I did by Landy almost the same time of year.

Got to go now.

It's Christmas already! I can't believe it! It's been one busy week around here for Mommy racing around shopping, visiting and cleaning. She's done with all that and has found some time to help us send some Christmas trees to our friends. On behalf of myself and my sibs, I thank all our friends who have sent us trees. We went through out corral and also friends' lists and sent trees to those whom we have heard from throughout the years since we've been on Caster.

I wish everycat a safe and very Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Again, another year has gone by and it's Mommy's birthday on December 18th. I'm putting the story up early as she'll be coming home late on Monday and Tuesday evenings and not in the mood to turn on the big computer. So, keeping in tradition, here's a story I wrote for her when I was a young boycat:

A CATMAS PAWTY by Merlin, the Panther Boy

On Catmas eve, I went to bed early. Later that night, I woke up at the stroke of midnight from a deep sleep by the sounds of loud piano music, drums, and a trumpet. Catmas carols were being sung in our native tongue: meows, howls, breeps and chirps.

I got up from Mommy's bed where I always sleep every night. I walked slowly down the hall toward the computer room. The door was open slightly. I found this to be very odd as Mommy always had this door closed to keep my brothers and I out. I peeked through the crack of the door and saw, to my amazement, all of Mommy's cat figurines had come to life, jumped out of the glass display cabinet and were pawtying! Portia-Lynne was playing the piano while her husband Sir Ramic blew on the horn! Their three little ones, China, Cyrstal and Blenko sat atop the piano and sang in their beautiful high-pitched breeps. Some of the kitty figurines of unknown names were dancing as Portia-Lynne and her husband played Jingle Bell Rock. Others stood and talked while they drank varying Catnip type drinks: Catip Sunrises, Catnip Ladies, Catnip Cape Codders (Catnip with cranberry juice).

A Catmas tree, stood tall behind the piano and perched in the top of the tree was the Cheshire Cat grinning and swishing his large plumed tail!

I wanted to pawty with them and the thought of meeting a girl went through my head. I decided it would not be a good idea to enter the room as there was magical spell in here on this Catmas Eve. All the kitties were not real and if I joined in, I would become like them after the party ended and would have to spend the whole year on the shelf with them as a figurine.

I value my life too much. I love my Mommy and brothers and sister and I'd miss them and they'd miss me. Because of this, I decided to watch the pawtiers from a distance. They were all too drunk on catnip drinks and they never noticed me watching them.

Eventually, I returned to my bed and didn't wake up until the Catmas morning sunlight poked through the bedroom window blinds.

The dream was still very alive in my head and out of curiosity, I went into the computer room to find the following: The glass door to the display case was slightly ajar and one of the windows was open a crack, and on the floor was the figurine of Portia-Lynne wearing our Santa hat. But the strangest thing of all was the look on her face. She was smiling up at me . . . . .

The End

So, there you go. I was young and little almost eight years ago when I wrote this story. Every year, I'm bigger than the year before. I'm the biggest cat in the furmily. I was 17.7 on my last vet check when Landy pierced my left ear. My ear is fine a year later and fur has grown back on it. As to my weight, Mommy thinks I'm at 18 lbs. It hurts her back to pick me up and she doesn't do it often because of that. Also,Sampy's had a bunch of health issues and a bad tooth. Also, our sassy sis, Joss, is growing up to be a big girl. She's almost 12 lbs!

In March of 2006, (when I joined Catster) I was a little guy of 2 1/2 months old. Happy Birthday Mommy. This is my present to you!

I know, I know. I'm shy and afraid of anyone who visits Mommy. Because of my shyness, I missed out on some treats; likewise for Joss. Mommy put said treats on a plate and slid them under the big red couch for me and Joss. Unfortunately, Landy went under there and ate them before we could.

Oh well, Mommy gave me some chicken the next morning when she was fixing her lunch to take to work. Muwahhhhhh!!!

Lastly, I concat Ms. Pawpular in our household. I can't believe that she's getting so many Diary Picks. If Catster still had that "Pawpular" column like they did in 2006 when we first joined, she'd be up there for sure. I used to be #5 on that column's top 5 listing.

Anyway, enjoy my our Catmas pages.

Yesterday Bail and I were in the diary spotlight. Talk about excitement! The Diary Gal likes us for sure. Thanks so much for honoring my bro and me!

I also extend my belated thanks for concats & gifts:

1. ANGEL BUDDIE & Family - pawsome pawmail;
2. SMILEY CASANOVA - pawsome pawmail & cool comment;
3. ELSA - yummy (drool) drumstick.

Also, another weekend is upon us. Two more weeks of Farmer's Market are left. Tomorrow and next Sunday. After that, we have to wait until April. That doesn't mean no more salmon; Mommy cooks it pretty good in her convection oven. In fact, I like Mommy's recipe better.

Lastly, Joss is getting bigger everyday. Pretty soon, she'll weigh as much as me. She's not fat though. She's got those Maine Coon bones and big feet.

We'll that's about it. I'm running out of things to write about.

I wish everycat a safe and happy Halloween. As you can see, I'm dressed up as Merlin again this Halloween. That's who I'm named after so it's appropriate I dress like him.

Also, Sampy is doing much better this whole week on his reduced thyroid and heart meds. The larger doses made him too sleepy and he was also neglecting his grooming. Mommy had to help him by using kitty wipes and frequent combings. Now, he's able to do it himself and his floofy coat is looking much better.

Other than that I extend belated concats to Joss for her back-to-back diary picks. Woo-Hoo, girl.

Lastly, she's been hanging around with me a lot and chasing me too. I guess she's getting tired of picking on Landy all the time.

Wowza! This is the first diary pick that I had in some time! Thanks, Diary Gal for honoring me today! I think Bail got Diary Pick last weekend.

I also thank my pawsome friends for their concats as follows:

1. BUDDIE & Family - pawsome pawmail;
2. GLEEK - cool comment;
3. SMILEY CASANOVA - pawsome pawmail & cool comment;
4. IVY & Family - purrty blue rosette;
5. SEVERIAN - cool comment;
6. NAPOLEON - cool comment.

Also, today is Farmer's Market day and that means a salmon pawty if the salmon man is there. I hope he is 'cause he makes he most pawsome salmon. Of course, Mommy does too, but she has to find some good looking pieces of salmon that's not too expensive. Lately, she been too busy to go looking for it.

Anyway, fall is surely here! A lot of leaves are falling, even those from the redbud tree. Those leaves are heart shaped and turning gold and brown. Next Saturday, Mommy has an art class at the old Parrish house which is walking distance from our house. She will be taught how to make an autumn leaf mosaic that will enclose the leaves between glass and wood. She plans on using redbud and oak tree leaves for this project. She's really excited!! Pics will be posted next Saturday evening on FB and my page.

Well, that's it for now. Have a pawsome weekend my friends!
