This is wonderful! This 10-year-old boy was able to log in to do a quick diary.

It's been a year ago on my last birthday that I wrote anything and I turned 9 years old then. Wow! Bail will be 11years old on April 2nd which is this coming Saturday. My how time flies!

Since Sampy is gone, Bail and I've had a few altercations. I suppose since we're close in age and Bail was here before me, it's a hierarchy thing. We both want to be King! Most of the time, we tolerate each other, sniff each other and walk away. We never cuddle like we used to when I was a kitten and he a year old. Bail cuddles with Landy and only Landy when it's cold weather. Joss is a lone sleeper. She does love to give me a lot of head bonks though.

Anyway, since the log in issue is up and running, we'll write more often. Hopefully, other stuff works such as photos, etc.

Got to go now, my friends.

I am 9 years old today! I'm really getting up in years. Still I have a lot of energy and can leap up to the cabinets over top of the 'fridge.

I received some gifts today and would like to thank my following friends:

1. INKY & Family - yummy cupcake;
2. ANGEL REBBY & Family - cool snowman;
3. MILO BLUE EYES & Family - cool football.

Of course, I thank HQ for the birthday wishes.

Mommy gave us kitties a bunch of gifts on Saturday which consisted of a soft cat bed (me and Landy take turns sleeping in it). Also, she got us some catnip toys (4 of them) which came in the shape of bottles of wine such as: "Cat-Bernay" and Merl-Cat" (hey, that's me!)"

Lastly, Joss was cuddling with me last night. I suppose that was her present to me for my birthday.

Anyway, I hope Catster gets totally fixed soon.

Happy Belated Birthday and an early Catmas too, Mommy! In keeping up with tradition, I again post "A Catmas Pawty" that I wrote when I was a young dude. Here goes:

A CATMAS PAWTY by Merlin, the Panther Boy

On Catmas eve, I went to bed early. Later that night, I woke up at the stroke of midnight from a deep sleep by the sounds of loud piano music, drums, and a trumpet. Catmas carols were being sung in our native tongue: meows, howls, breeps and chirps.

I got up from Mommy's bed where I always sleep every night. I walked slowly down the hall toward the computer room. The door was open slightly. I found this to be very odd as Mommy always had this door closed to keep my brothers and I out. I peeked through the crack of the door and saw, to my amazement, all of Mommy's cat figurines had come to life, jumped out of the glass display cabinet and were pawtying! Portia-Lynne was playing the piano while her husband Sir Ramic blew on the horn! Their three little ones, China, Cyrstal and Blenko sat atop the piano and sang in their beautiful high-pitched breeps. Some of the kitty figurines of unknown names were dancing as Portia-Lynne and her husband played Jingle Bell Rock. Others stood and talked while they drank varying Catnip type drinks: Catip Sunrises, Catnip Ladies, Catnip Cape Codders (Catnip with cranberry juice).

A Catmas tree, stood tall behind the piano and perched in the top of the tree was the Cheshire Cat grinning and swishing his large plumed tail!

I wanted to pawty with them and the thought of meeting a girl went through my head. I decided it would not be a good idea to enter the room as there was magical spell in here on this Catmas Eve. All the kitties were not real and if I joined in, I would become like them after the party ended and would have to spend the whole year on the shelf with them as a figurine.

I value my life too much. I love my Mommy and brothers and sister and I'd miss them and they'd miss me. Because of this, I decided to watch the pawtiers from a distance. They were all too drunk on catnip drinks and they never noticed me watching them.

Eventually, I returned to my bed and didn't wake up until the Catmas morning sunlight poked through the bedroom window blinds.

The dream was still very alive in my head and out of curiosity, I went into the computer room to find the following: The glass door to the display case was slightly ajar and one of the windows was open a crack, and on the floor was the figurine of Portia-Lynne wearing our Santa hat. But the strangest thing of all was the look on her face. She was smiling up at me . . . . .

The End
So, there you go. I was young and little almost five years ago when I wrote this story. Every year, I'm bigger than the year before. I'm the biggest cat in the furmily (now 17.1 lbs and the vet thinks I'm 2 lbs overweight. I don't think so and neither does Mommy as my weight isn't blubber, it's all muscle and bone). It's hard to believe that I've gotten that big. In March of 2006, (when I joined Catster) I was a little guy of 2 1/2 months old.

Happy Belated Birthday Mommy and an early Catmas. This is my present to you!

Purrrrrrrrrrs & Breeeeeeeeeeeeeeeps,

P.S. I look forward to Catster being totally back on track in 2015. We haven't been on much because of errors and other types of fleas.
Also, Joss is stuck like glue on me. She even has taken to licking me on the top of my head. Can a guy like me stand all this affection from my sis???

Yesterday was my first diary entry since Fcb. 23rd and the Diary Gal liked it! That's so cool! Thank you so much for the honor!

I also noticed I got a couple of gifts from my friends. Thank you so much:

1. MAC & IVY - lovely heart;
2. GINGER - cool balloons;
3. SMILEY & LUIGI - pawsome pawmail.

Also, today was a strange day. We had a nasty T-storm that did some damage in our town and the next one to it. A tree fell across Greenbelt Road and part of the roof fell off the Enclave Student Apartments in College Park. Mommy had to be detoured on her way home because of this fallen roof and also when she had to bring Sampy to the vet for his fluids, the detour was longer and more complicated. Luckily, she knows a lot of back roads to the vet.

Anyway,now she and Sampy are safely home and so far, there are no storms. Tomorrow, the temps will be much cooler than those 90 + temps we had all week.

Well, that's about all i can think of right now except I'm glad Catster is working today. Hopefully, there will come a time when we can find it safe to change our backgrounds. Christmas in July is getting old!

I can't believe that I haven't written anyting since February! My goodness, time does fly by quickly!

Here's a little update on me: I went to the vet's for a checkup and everything was fine except the vet thinks I'm 2 lbs overweight. Can you believe that? I don't think I need to lose that weight as I'm the same size as I was last time and I'm good at maintaining my 17.1 lbs. The vet thinks 15 lbs is a good weight for me. Whatever! If there was a way I could donate those 2 lbs to Sampy, I would do so as he's all skin and bones now. Poor guy!!

Yes, our dear Sampy has a lot of issues and his tremendous weight loss is one of them. He eats like a bird. Mommy thinks the painkillers and his tooth problems are the culprits. He's also on sub q fluids once a day to see if his kidney values get better.

Sampy does need a lot of purrs. They would be appreciated.

Lastly, I wish everycat a safe and Happy 4th of July!

I can't believe that it's almost March. I'm so excited that Catster isn't shutting down! What a pawsome relief that is for all of us!

We've been busy around here and the weather has been a roller coaster ride. We've had deep snow which has melted because of the heat wave we had this weekend. It got up to 63 degrees both days. Unfortunately, a cold front is heading this way tonight and we'll drop to 43 degrees during the daytime tomorrow. More snow is expected on Wednesday. I hope not! We've had too much snow already. Believe me, I'm ready for springtime!

Anyway, I got to run. It's time for my beauty sleep.

Just think that two years ago tomorrow, the vet's office accidently gave Mommy a bag of dry dog food instead of dry cat food. At first, I thought she was bringing home a dog. Horrors! It was just a mistake and Mommy was able to return it. Thank goodness she didn't open the bag accidently!

It's hard to believe that happened two years ago! It seems just like yesterday!

From then on, Mommy always double checks the bag of Royal Canin SO to make sure it's not the dog kind again.

Anyway, this is my sad entry. I, too will miss Catster. I love Catster! I grew up on Catster! Purrlease, someone save our beloved site!! PURRLEASE!!!

Also, a lot of our friends are on FB so we'll keep in touch. Some aren't on FB and it'll be goodbye. Sad, very sad!

Anyway, I'll try to blog as much as possible until that sad day of March 3rd.

Mommy is currently having computer issues and a new DSL modem will be arriving here some time (hopefully) by the end of this week. Anything we do is on her IPad or iPhone now and photo reordering can't be done on those. That's why we still have our Catmas pages up on my birthday. Maybe she can fix my page during her lunch hour at work. We'll see.

Anyway, everything else is going great! In fact, Mommy just got in touch with an old childhood friend the other day through a group on FB! They both are so excited about how you can hook up with people you haven't seen in a long time via computers. She found another old friend from the 1970's last year and she doesn't live far away. Her new found childhood friend lives is sunny Florida!

Well, that's about it for now. It's almost breakfast time.

Purrs and Breeps,

P.S. Mommy took a pic of me singing Happy Birthday to meeee! It's now on FB and will be put as #1 on my page during her lunch hour. It's now the last pic on my page (IPad doesn't work on reordering pics)

My 8th birthday will be on January 14th! It'll be great to be 8! I'm the third oldest cat in the house and the biggest!

Aside from that not much going on except Joss still keeps trying to rub against me and always hangs around me in the dining room when Mommy eats her dinner. The other cats are usually upstairs in her bedroom.

Lastly, Mommy was having troubles with her Ipod as Itunes wouldn't recognize her nor sync her music. She went to the control panel and checked "repair" for the Itunes program and everything is fine now. She got over 600 songs synced to her Ipod. There must have been a glitch in the program.

She's glad of that as her Ipod was showing "0" songs before she did the repair. That's a big relief as she thought she would have to unintall the program and put it back in which would be a big hassle.

Lastly, I'm glad Bail's ear's healing nicely. He got less of a piercing than I did by Landy almost the same time of year.

Got to go now.

It's Christmas already! I can't believe it! It's been one busy week around here for Mommy racing around shopping, visiting and cleaning. She's done with all that and has found some time to help us send some Christmas trees to our friends. On behalf of myself and my sibs, I thank all our friends who have sent us trees. We went through out corral and also friends' lists and sent trees to those whom we have heard from throughout the years since we've been on Caster.

I wish everycat a safe and very Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year.
