Well, you might just be looking at a Calvin! Meet the newest Calvin on the block!

He is only two months old, but I can tell already that he is going to be a real looker, and the girls are gonna go Ga-Ga after him, and I'm not talking Lady GaGa!

Mawmee's Day Secrets!

It's my first Mawmee's Day at the bridge, and I wasn't sure how we celebrate it. Last night when all us Catster pals were chillaxin at The Catster Club, Catsy went up to the microphone and told us the agenda for today. She is the chaircat of the Mom's Day Committee.

We had a big breakfast this morning, and cats took turns talking about what made their Mom special. You had to sign up ahead of time to speak, and I decided since it was my first year up here, I would wait until next year to sign up to talk.

Cole, Buddie, and Simba were a few of the cats that gushed about what a great Mom they had. I had to laugh when Buddie was talking about his Mom and when she first got him on Catster. He is a real comedian!

Then we all piled into the craft room, and we had to make cards for our Moms. My pal, Dude K., always sits with me in the craft room cause we like throwing beads and glitter at the girls! There is a ginormous bulletin board, and we all tacked our cards to it when we were done.

The Mother's Day Cloud Train leaves the station at 2:00 this afternoon. It's a little different than the Rainbow Ride we took on St. Patrick's Day. I think I heard Maggie Moo say she was going to ride up front with the conductor. Man, I want that job next year!

The Cloud Train takes us all across the country. Everycat has a window seat and there is a big box that sits next to us full of angel dust. Whenever you want, you can take a paw full and sprinkle it down to earth!

I can't wait to go . . . . . . . it's going to be so much fun. I heard they even serve treats on board!

Happy Mawmee's Day to all the Catster Moms!

An Orange Kind of Week at the Bridge!

I've been carrying around my Welcome sign non-stop this week! It seems like everycat coming through the gate is orange!

For those of you who might have missed some of the orangness that journeyed, I'd like to remind you.

Ginnger made his journey today.

Marvin came through the gates yesterday.

Tommy came skipping in on Tuesday, the 4th.

A couple of non-orangies also journeyed this week.

Sneakers got here on Monday.

I was almost late welcoming Maxwell last Saturday cause I was watching the Kentucky Derby.

Whew, I'm pooped! I'm hoping it is a quiet weekend so I can get caught up on my catnaps!

Wowza, that jockey Calvin Borel won his third Kentucky Derby today on a horse named Super Saver. Of course, he was my pick, and I won the pool up here at the bridge!

Remember in 2009 when I wrote this diary entry about Calvin Borel? He won on Mine That Bird last year!

And remember in 2007 when I wrote this diary entry about Calvin Borel? He won on Street Sense in 2007!

Congratulations to that famous Calvin - I'm happy to have his name too!

No, I'm not talking about the magic numbers in that show Lost! These numbers are special to me today.

It has been six months since I made my journey to the bridge. In many ways it feels like I've been here a long time with all the orientation, and parties, and my welcome committee job! I'm still finding out secrets about this place, and don't worry - I'll be the first to let you know!

Now, on to 100! Yep, we reached the magic 100 Calvin Collars yesterday! Thanks to Sandy's Mom for purchasing that special numbered collar! And keep it quiet cause Sandy is getting it for her birthday!

Because the 100th Calvin Collar was sold, we were able to sponsor our 4th kitty at Best Friends Animal Society! His name is Sunny, and you can see his picture and read about him at The Cat in the Clover blog. There are a couple of things that make Sunny special. He is an orangie, and when I was living with my former Mommy, I had a brother named Sunny!

Yesterday, our Auntie Eva made her journey to heaven. The Top Cat up here said I could go to the Reunion Gate with her doggie, Taffy. It was so pawsome to see Taffy get all wiggly and happy when she saw her Mommy again!

Well, I gotta go - there is a Cinco de Mayo planning meeting today, and I'm on the food committee!

99 collars around a cat's neck
99 Calvin Collars
Take one down, pass it around
99 collars around a cat's neck . . . . . .

Oh my cats - 99 Calvin Collars have been sold as of today! And that means we're very close to sponsoring a fourth kitty at Best Friends Animal Society!

There is a funny story about Calvin Collar #99. This story is about my lookalike pal, Taz, who is currently drowning his sorrows in cat ale because his Daddy is out of town. His WS (wicked Stepmom) purchased two Calvin Collars. Mawmee got them out of their storage location and moved them to the table in the cat room where she gets stuff ready to be shipped.

Then she went back in the computer room to print out the packaging slip. When she got back to the cat room, Calvin Collar #99 was missing! She looked on the floor . . . . . no collar. She went back in the storage container . . . . no collar.

Where, oh where could Calvin Collar #99 be?

Well, of course, it is in the master bedroom next to Newman's S shaped bed! So, Taz, when you get the Calvin Collar, if it smells like Newman, you'll know why!

Rainbow Bridge Day!

My pal, Rebby was talking to me a couple of weeks ago, and he mentioned Rainbow Bridge Day. I asked him about it because I didn't know anything about Rainbow Bridge Day although I did see it on the big, master calendar.

He told me I could read more about it at this forum thread.

Rainbow Bridge Day was started over 20 years ago as a way to remember all of the pets who have crossed the bridge. It is held on April 1st, and your parents are supposed to think of you that day and write you a special note. The note goes in a balloon, and after they finish crying, they let the balloon go.

The balloon ends up here at the bridge, and tonight, we will all sit around and read our notes from our families. If for some reason, a balloon pops before it reaches the bridge, then I think we get extra internet time so we can read the same message that our parents write in our Catster diaries.

So, for all your parents who can't get to a balloon store, you better write something in your angels' diaries so that they can go to the Internet Cafe tonight to read it!

And, I'm not fooling about this - even though it is April Fool's Day, this Rainbow Bridge Day is the real deal!

Dear Calvin:

I'm sorry we don't have a helium tank at the house, and you know how I feel about letting balloons go and animals possibly choking on the pieces, so I'm hoping you get extra internet time tonight to read this note!

I can't help but think of you every single day as I sit at the computer. Your sweet picture is on the wall in a frame with a piece of your hair. Your button is pinned to the quilt hanging on the rack in front of me right next to the towel that Sky's Mom made with your name on it.

I can't go to your Catster page without shedding a few tears. There will never be another cat like you! I only wish I had known you and owned you since you were a kitty. I look at pictures of your namesake, and imagine that you were just as cute. Thank you for giving so much to this family. We will always love you and remember you with smiles on our faces and a soft spot in our hearts.

Mawmee and Daddy

P.S. Newman kisses Violet or Vivien every night as they wait to get fed. I know he misses kissing you!

Hey, Catsters - did you know there is an Easter egg hunt going on? Well, you better get your glasses on and start looking because that Catster bunny has been hiding 20 eggs all over the place (pet pages, forum posts, blog posts, and Cats 101 articles).

Of course, all us angels already know where all 20 are hidden, and we're not giving out secrets, so you're on your own! However, if you check the forum every day, there will be some hints. And when you find all 20, you have to email a list of all the links to the Catster head bunny at:

Go here to find out about the contest!

And here are the two forums where you can find clues each day:

What I Love About Catster Forum

Plus Fun Forum

You better hurry cause the deadline is Sunday, April 4th, before midnight Catster time.

Okay, I'll give you a clue. I didn't see any eggs on my page, but you might want to check it out yourself! Have fun!

I forgot to tell you about the cool prizes:

The first Catster to find all 20 eggs and get their entry submitted will win 20 Zealies and a $25 gift card from PetSmart! And any Catster who finds all 20 eggs and submits their entry before the deadline will get 20 Zealies.

Pee Ess - the ones I've seen on Catster pages have been on their backgrounds. Now, I'm not allowed to tell you any more secrets or the head bunny up here will put me on basket stuffing duty!

Busy Day at the Bridge!

Happy St. Patrick's Day from the land of the rainbows! If you read Samoa's diary, you'll know that today is our 4th Catster anniversary - well, 4th for Autumn, Samoa, Violet, and me! Wowza, so much has happened in those four years, and I have some lifelong pals.

Rocky Ann is throwing a big party in our honor today. After the party, comes the big pot 'o gold distribution. Ooops, I think I just let a secret slip! Oh well, you'll find out when you get here, so I'll just go ahead and tell you.

On St. Patrick's Day, it is a tradition up here that we take pots of gold and put them at the ends of the rainbows for some lucky cat to find. You see, up here at the bridge, we have the arch part of the rainbow. The ends of the rainbow are down on earth.

Once a year, we go to the pot 'o gold room, and each take a pot. Then comes the fun part. We to to the Rainbow Station - it's kind of like a ride at Disney World. We get into a black bucket that looks like a big pot. We hold on to our pot of gold, and we slide all the way down the rainbow until we get to the end. Then we drop off our pot 'o gold, and get back in the black bucket. We go back up the slide, and we're back to the Rainbow Bridge.

Everybody's Rainbow Ride takes them down a different rainbow, so you never know where you're going to end up. Autumn told me last year she was in Texas for her Rainbow Ride! I can't wait to see where I'll end up!

Gotta go - Rocky Ann is motioning me to get my tail over to the St. Patrick's Day party! Don't forget to wear your green or you could get pinched. You should see all the girls trying to pinch me *rolls eyes*!

I stopped by the Internet Cafe this morning and saw that I was a diary pick again! I think that Diary Gal has a crush on me. Thanks to all my pals who left me rosettes for both my diary honors this week!

The other day Mawmee was looking for something and she came across a little pill bottle that had Calvin written on it in black marker. Guess what was inside? Nope, it wasn't my ashes, it was my big giant tooth! She had forgotten all about it. She found a tiny yellow organza bag, and put the tooth inside. Then she put the organza bag inside my memory box that sits on the fireplace mantle.

My ashes are in a container inside the memory box. Lots of other cool stuff is in there too - my collar with my tags, a dried yellow rose, and a dried red rose that friends sent my family after I made my journey, a rainbow bridge poem on pretty vellum paper that my vet sent, a sweet bookmark, and a very special piece from Arnold P.'s Mom. She sent something from her Christmas village because it reminded her of me. It is a little girl playing with an orange cat. During the holidays Mawmee had it sitting on top of the box, but now it's inside the box.

And of course, my pictures are everywhere in the house, so no one is going to forget me anytime soon!

I was sitting next to Rocky Ann at the Internet Cafe today, and she was bragging about little Zack's first diary pick today. She is so proud of Zack and Zoey, and of course, she is so excited that they are in love with Hello Kitty too! Dang, those two are getting more beds and ginormous cat gyms to play on - what pawsome fun they are having in their new home!

Thanks to everyone who said they are going to purr for Queen Tallulah. She had a pretty rough day when she got her CT scan, but she is home resting now.

I gotta go - Flinders is celebrating her birthday today, and I'm in charge of decorating the Catster Club for her big party tonight! Scooter and Lola said they would help me!

Have a pawsome day . . . . . . . .
