You all know about that skinny little black cat that we have been feeding on the front porch, right? We think it is a girl because Mawmee can't see grapes or a fruit cup. She is going to call one of the neighbors today to see if the cat lives over in the next court.
Then there is the white and tan cat that sometimes hangs out in the backyard and woods. He looks like Victor Gibbs, and we're not sure if he is a stray or not.
Well, this morning Mawmee looked out the back window and saw something white up against the fence. She hadn't seen the kitty in awhile, and after seeing his tail flick, she realized what it was.
When she went down to feed Sugar, she decided to make sure the kitty wasn't hurt because it seemed weird the way he was laying against the fence. And, yeah, she conveniently took a bowl of dry food with her.
The kitty started to run away, but stopped over near the hotel on the woodpile. He came over and Mawmee petted him, and she set the bowl down. He wasn't interested in the food, and walked away.
Mawmee was hoping Daddy didn't see her take the food outside. She realized he was in the bathroom getting ready for work, and he probably didn't see her. She came upstairs to take a shower so she could get Sugar to the vet, and when she got to the bathroom, Daddy said to her:
There was an old woman who lived in a shoe,
She had so many cats, she didn't know what to do!
She started laughing, and he said he saw her give that kitty some food! BUSTED!

I'm starting back my Pal of the Week, and this week my pal is my local dude pal, Jack! Jack was a kitten on the streets when he found his forever home with his Mommy.
Jack is famous because he recently won a photo contest at one of our local radio stations. We voted on-line for him. I can't wait to hear about all the cool stuff he won. He has also been on the website Stuffonmycat, and won the Decades Contest they had, so maybe you've seen his pictures there too!
Recently Jack thought he had a cancerous tumor in his belly. His weight dropped from 22 lbs. down to 9 lbs. - wowza, that is some weight loss! The poor dude has been through a lot of poking and proding and stuff stuck where it shouldn't be stuck!
Well, it turned out the belly problem was a bleeding ulcer and he also has IBD. He is taking yucky medicine for the ulcer, and he also has to eat special food for his IBD problem. If any of you Olde Furts with IBD have food suggestions, Jack would love to hear about it. He isn't too crazy about the food his Mom has been giving him, and he can't afford to lose any more weight!
Jack is one cool cat, so if you're not friends, be sure to stop by and send him a purr and a friend invite! I know he would love to hear from you.
Thanks for being my Pal of the Week, Jack! I hope you get completely better real soon . . . . . . . . .

I see Catster got smart, and now when you leave a comment on a diary entry, it says in red letters:
Your Comment Has Been Posted!
I don't think it said that before, and you know us cats, if you don't tell us, we'll hit that send button again, and then, dang, you've left your comment twice, and you look like a dweeb!
Sometimes if our typist clicks wrong, it will look like she left the comment, and then she feels like a dweeb!
No more dweebness now . . . . . . . . .

I am so sad to hear that my pal, Tyler made his journey to the bridge.
I stayed up late tonight, and got the pmail that Hazel Lucy sent out to the OF group:
He collapsed at home and was rushed to the ER where he went into heart failure and was gently led to the angels.
I am crying for his Mommy and Daddy - they loved Tyler so much, and did everything to help him. I'm thankful he had some special moments with his family before he made his journey.
Many friends were there to greet you, Tyler. I know Spunky will show you around the bridge. Rest in peace, my pal . . . . . . .

Wowza, I've noticed that I haven't had to get my picture taken in any special hats or outfits lately.
I'm having a holidrawl! Are you having one too?
A holidrawl is depression caused by a lack of a holiday for at least a one-month period.
The biggest Catster holidrawl is from 4th of July until Labor Day! Then, the big holiday picture taking starts - Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas!
I say holidrawls should be celebrated! Why should we be depressed about not having to wear silly hats and costumes? Embrace the holidrawls! We need more holidrawls! My life was all about holidrawls until I became a Catster! MOL!

I'm glad to see our trophy is back in the shop - and it is better than ever! Thanks, HQ, for listening to us!
Purrs to Boots' family. He journeyed to the Rainbow Bridge today where he will be a beautiful angel with his sisters, Susie and Flinders.
Rest in peace, Boots . . . . . . . . .

My vet lady called today like she said she would. My thyroid is perfect!
Mawmee asked her about whether I should get rechecked in a few months on my pancreas. She said the one enzyme was elevated so little, and the others were normal, so she isn't too concerned about any problems. She said at my next normal visit, they will check it again.
Thanks to all of you for your purrs. I sure didn't mean to scare anybody by flojectiling blood! I went downstairs this morning to drink out of Sugar's big water bowl. I'm fascinated by it for some reason.
Have a pawsome weekend . . . . . . . .

I've got a new abbreviation for you today, and I'll tell you all about it with this story of my vet visit.
Daddy drove, and I was in my carrier on Mawmee's lap. She opened the top so I could look out, and she could pet me to keep me calm. I didn't cry as much so maybe that Comfort Zone wipe she used in my carrier helped.
When I walked in the vet's office, they all yell Calvin, sort of like they did Norm in that television show. I'm a big celebrity there. I got taken back to my exam room where I got out of the carrier and waited for the vet tech.
I heard fighting in the hallway, and then Rita came in the room. She said she and Sarah had a fistfight over who was going to be my vet tech today. Sarah must not have had breakfast because she lost the fight.
I got weighed first - 9.06 pounds - the same weight from March. I think I need to up my wet food feedings a day to every hour so that I can gain some weight - MOL!
Rita got really rude and did the you-know-what-in-the-you-know-where. It was normal. And so was my pulse.
Then my regular vet lady who has seen me a lot and loves me came in to check me over. She said my heart sounded strong, and she felt around my belly, and other than some gurgling, everything felt okay.
Phoebe - she also said I am not gay. They can tell that when they examine you!
We asked her about throwing up bright red blood. She said that it usually doesn't concern her too much if the blood is bright red because that means it probably came from a broken capillary in the esophagus. She said if you throw up something dark and it looks like coffee grinds, then you got problems. She said it takes a lot out of an Olde Furt when you throw up, and sometimes stuff like this happens.
Then I got taken in the back where the vampire lives. They took blood out of my neck, and I got to wait with Mawmee and Daddy while they checked my blood.
They sent some of my blood out to have my thyroid checked. The vet lady said my BUN was a little elevated. I told her I could stick it up higher in the air if she wanted me too. She rolled her eyes. My creatinine was perfectly normal - woo hoo! One of the pancreas enzymes was a little elevated, so we'll keep an eye on that and hope it isn't anything serious.
I got two shots - one antibiotic, and a shot to help me not throw up anymore. Then she said they were going to take me in the back and give me some fluids because I was a little dehydrated. $270 later, and I'm back in the car in my carrier on Mawmee's lap!
Okay, now here is your Word Up - IP!
Here is how it all went down. We're in the car, and Mawmee is telling me what a good boy I was at the vet's office. All of a sudden, she feels something on her leg. She looks over the carrier on her lap, and there it is . . . . . . . . IP:
I'm laying on my side and squirting pee all over the glove compartment. She is laughing hysterically, and saying,
Oh no, pee all over my car!
And then they all start laughing because they realize we're in Daddy's car! Then Daddy says,
Oh no, pee all over my car!
Dang, did they expect me to pee on the towel in the carrier? I don't want to lay in that pee! What do they expect to happen? They pump me full of fluids, and then expect me to hold it all the way home?
The good news: I don't have to go back to the vet on Monday! I should hear something about my thyroid tomorrow.
Thanks for your purrs . . . . . . . . .

I was supposed to go to the vet on Monday for my yearly visit. But, this morning, I decided to throw up some blood. It wasn't much, but it was bright red. I ate my breakfast, and I'm acting okay.
Mawmee freaked out and decided to take me to the vet this morning. Daddy was going to work from home, so he is going too.
The vet lady I was going to see on Monday isn't in today, and the other vet lady I've seen is full of appointments, so I'm seeing some dude vet - he owns the place, so he'd better be good to me!
I'll let you know what happens when I get back. Mawmee rubbed one of those Feliway comfort zone wipes in the carrier to keep me calm because I hate riding in the car. She had the carrier on the counter, and Newman jumped in it and acted like he wanted to go!
Talk to you soon!

Wowza, I sure got a lot of comments on my diary yesterday.
Here is another good initial word for you . . . . . .TMI - it means Too Much Information, and that is what I thought to myself when I read:
Did you know there are some Catster Moms who wear these? It is a picture I'm trying real hard to get out of my head!
I think I liked Hazel Lucy's definition better - Got Pajamas?
And I found out Ivan isn't a water licking cat after all - he is just the world's laziest cat! MOL!
And about Oliver's comment:
Awl we kin add ta deez commentz beez YOPLRND!!
I've signed up for the Oliver and Dewey Language Class this fall, so hopefully after a few lessons, I can interpret this for you!
I'm also very disturbed to read what Edgar put:
Granny panties rule!
And Jaffa lives in a world where I never want to go - MOL. He said his Mommy wears what she calls Sturdy Kickers, and he gets real embarrassed on wash day. I hear ya, Jaffa! I guess Sturdy Kickers can double as hot water bottle covers, radiator hammocks, emergency camping equpiment, and shark traps! His Mommy gets her money's worth when she buys her granny panties!
Signing off ~
