BUMMER!!!

September 12th 2011 9:27 am

We've got two feline friend requests and Catster fleas won't allow us to accept these friendships! This is unacceptable!! We always say "yes" to new friends and can't do it because these fleas keep coming up with the message, "friend request messed up, try again". Well, we tried again and again and again, to no avail!!

Anycat else having this problem?? First it was photo fleas, then video fleas, and diary fleas. What next?

Aside from that big time bummer, something good happened. Sampy is one of the Diary Picks for today! Woo-hoo! Can we have another chicken pawty, Mommy?

Also, Mommy had a good time at the Takoma Park Folk Festival yesterday. The place "rocked"!

Well, that's about it. Mommy has to send an email to HQ about getting rid of these friend request fleas.

NASTY WEATHER ALL WEEK LONG .

First of all, it's been raining off and on all week! Mostly on! I've never seen so many t-storms and rain in one week. Last night we had a t-storm that lasted from 9:30 p.m. to almost 2:00 a.m. During each day and in the evening we've been getting these t-storms since Saturday of the Memorial weekend. On Memorial Day, it was worse and has been that way all week.

Today, Mommy told us kitties when she got home from the store, she got caught in a t-storm while in her car and was afraid to get out until it was mostly over. Also, while she was in her car, she saw some nut jog up the bike path and back down during this nasty storm.

She told me, "now who's the nut? She who's afraid to go outside in a t-storm or someone who jogs in one." It's from one extreme to the other.

I don't like t-storms either as Mommy always shuts the windows when they come along. I don't mind the lightning. As to the thunder, I think it's scary when it gets really loud like fireworks.

Anyway, here's a change of subject: Mommy saw that Ben & Jerry's has a new ice cream out called "Cluster Fluff". I almost laughed when she told me this and asked her if it was filled with cat hairballs. She said, "no it was peanut butter ice cream with marshmallows and nuts!" YUCKY both of us say to that one! She didn't buy that as she doesn't like peanut butter ice cream. Now peanut butter cookies are a different story.

Well, I must go now It's way past our bed time.

CHICKEN PAWTY ETC.!!

September 2nd 2011 7:27 pm
[ Leave A Comment | 2 people already have ]

Happy Friday, and to celebrate it, we had a chicken pawty!! The chicken was extra yummy today! I couldn't get enought of the stuff!!

Also,it's already September and this is a long weekend for Mommy. She's glad of that she needs a rest after the busy week at work.

Also, there's a festival in Greenbelt starting today through Monday. Mommy will go there tomorrow. Last year they had an oldies rock and roll group there called "The Fabulous Hubcaps". She's not sure if they'll be back this year and hopes they are as they rocked the place! Also, they'll have food, yard sale items (mostly books and movies), and games and rides for the kids.

As to the rest of the weekend, I have a feeling she'll be running that vacuum cleaner as she didn't do that last week because of the hurricane, etc.

Anyway, I'm tired and so's Mommy. Have a nice night, everycat!

WE MADE IT THROUGH DISASTER WEEK

August 29th 2011 4:55 am

This past week has been a rough one for all on the east coast with an earthquake on Tuesday, Aug. 23rd and hurricane "Irene" on Saturday/Sunday Aug. 27th-28th. We made it through these disasters and some weren't as lucky and blessed as we were. We're sending all our purrs and prayers to those who had it far much worse than we did.

Because of all the loud noisy winds howling and the "giant" shaking the earth, Mommy decided not to use the vacuum cleaner once during this whole week. She figured anymore loud scary noises would stress us out too much. Now, that's a good Mommy!!

Anyway, we've been having the calm after the storm since early yesterday afternoon; beautiful blue skies, low humidity, and pleasant breezes blowing about. The windows were opened for all of us to enjoy.

WE'RE GOING TO RIDE OUT THE STORM

August 27th 2011 11:15 am
[ Leave A Comment | 2 people already have ]

First of all, as of this moment it is raining lightly with no wind. There's a cardinal sitting in the redbud tree chirping away. I think he likes the rain.

Irene is supposed to hit us around 6:00 p.m. It's expected to be a tropical storm with winds 20-40 mph and gusts up to 50 mph. The weatherguy said a tropical storm is 73 mph and less. A hurricane is 75+. Ocean City, which is 150 miles from us, is expected to get hurricane force winds at 100 mph later on today. Right now, Nags Head, NC is getting it pretty bad, and it's heading toward Virginia Beach.

We are purring and praying for everyone and everycat in the path of this nasty sotrm. We're purring and praying for ourselves too. Hopefully, no trees fall down around here. Of course, power loss is expected. So far, we're good.

Also, before the rain came, Mommy made a couple stops to the vet and Petsmart. She told me the sky looked just like the pile of floof she combed out of me last week; lots of gray clouds clustered close together. These clouds were low-lying moving rather fast.

Of course, she's home now and we're all stocked with food, flashlights, cooler, litter, etc. We're going to ride out the storm. Mommy has done this before with her Mom, Sampy, Cammie and our angels Bentley and Jasmine Bibette during hurricane Isobel in 2003 (of course I wasn't born then). They dealt with no power for five days. Of course, they were able to cook on stove top. Mommy can with this new stove but she's afraid to light a match to the burners. She's got canned tuna and lots of fruit cups and granola bars. She's got cold cuts which she'll be put in the cooler if the power goes out.

Meanwhile, we're safe and sound right now. All stores in our area are having business as usual. I think a lot of them will close at 5:00 p.m. though.

Purrs & Breeps to all. Stay safe if you're dealing with Irene!

EARTHQUAKE

August 23rd 2011 6:24 pm
[ Leave A Comment | 1 person already has ]

As many may know, the east coast shook today. It was centered in Mineral, VA (I never heard of it, but Mommy heard it's somewhere near Richmond, VA). We were at home when this happened and we're not talking about it much. All I know is, that it was scary and it felt like a giant was hovering above our house and shaking it with all his might. Under the bed, under the bed alerts were called amongst us. And, and, and our Mommy was at work . . .

Note From Mommy:

I was sitting at my desk at work when the earthquake took place. All of a sudden, the ceiling above my desk was shaking. At first, I thought the people who worked upstairs were moving furniture around and they dropped something. Then I thought the object, whatever it was, was going to drop through the ceiling and land on top of me. I screamed and put my hand over my head and ran out of my office. The noise in the ceiling (rattling and shaking) followed me (so it seemed) and I got more scared and didn't know where to go. One of the attorneys knew what to do and told me to get out of the building and he also did so. All my co-workers and other people were outside. The word "earthquake" was uttered by many. I looked up at the roof of the office building expecting to see a big hole in it because it felt like the roof was shaking and coming down when I was inside. The building was fine. One of the attorneys at work said, "look at the shadow of my car . . . it's still shaking". But when I looked, it was still.

All in all, I'm safe, everyone's safe, my cats and home are safe, my brother and his wife are safe. A lot of my FB/Catster friends and cats are safe. I feel blessed that this earthquake wasn't worse and everyone/everycat is safe!

This quake was a 5.8. I'm not sure if it was that strong in my area. One thing for sure, it was very scary. This is the second earthquake I've been in. The other one was in Massachusetts in the 1980's wherein the house I lived in shook a little.

Back to Bail:

Anyway, an "earthquake" is what Mommy called that "giant" who shook the house. Our area is on a fault line but not that St. Andreas fault like in CA. *If this quake was a 6.0 it would have been twice as strong as the 5.8 that happened today. (*Mommy says she heard this on the news)

Anyway, everycat and everyone we're glad you're all safe!!! We don't want any aftershocks either.

Purrs & Breeps,

Bail

P.S. News post: They just said there were three aftershocks around this area and one was a 4.2 in the DC area. Of course, we felt nothing yet and hope and pray that it doesn't happen.

WOO-HOO, THE TEST WORKED & CONCATS TO LANDY

It worked!! Hurray!!! Now I get to post my concats to Landy! Way to go bro!!

Here we go again on my post that wouldn't save: Also, I had fun time in the bathtub this morning. I jumped in and spun around and around in there chasing my tail! I hadn't felt like doing this in a long time. This cooler weather makes me feel like a kitten again! Also, the bathtub felt nice and cool on my footsies!!

Well, I'm going to cut this short. Have a pawsome day, everycat!

Again, the diary fleas are back and they're on my diary page today. I had luck saving mine Saturday, and Sampy, Merl and Cam had luck yesterday. Today Sampy and Landy had luck. I was the unfortunate one this time.

This test is going through FireFox as it wouldn't work through IE. Let's see if it works!

Keep your paws crossed!

MOMMY NEEDS HER HEAD EXAMINED!!!

August 20th 2011 9:13 am
[ Leave A Comment | 2 people already have ]

I'll tell you my Catster friends, Mommy needs her head examined! First of all, she combed me for a long time (it seemed like forever). During that time, she got rid of some nasty mats under my arms and a whole bunch of loose floof all over my body. She also gave me the dreaded nail trim.

I made sure I growled and bunnykicked her too. Of course, I never bit or scratched her. I had the opportunity to chomp down on her hands and arms and never did.

Also, to add insult to injury, she took all that loose floof, laid it on a towel, took a video of it, and loaded it onto FB. She really needs her head examined!!!

Of course, I'm thankful that this grooming session is over with, and I must admit I do feel cooler all over. I just hope she stays away from me with that comb for a long, long time to come!

Lastly, it looks like today's going to be a nice day weatherwise. It's sunny and not as hot or humid (so far). The windows are open for all to enjoy the fresh air.

Have a pawsome weekend, my Catster friends!

Purrs & Breeps,

HEY, IT'S THE BAIL!

This is just a short note to let everycat know I'm doing great! I give Mommy early morning greetings with wet nose rubs! Also, I ate a little bit of my moist food last night.

Also, I picked on Cam last night by swinging at her! She didn't like it at all and screeched and swung back at me. Mommy knew I swung at her too as there was a lot of loose fur hanging from her tortie coat.

Lastly, today's supposed to be low humidity in the upper 80's. That'll be most welcome after several days of heat and humidity.

Well, that's it. Hopefully, I have luck with saving my diary like my bros did yesterday.

Bail
