THE RULES
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write about themselves (the seven random facts) as well as the rules in their diary. You need to select seven cats to tag and list their names. Don't forget to leave them a comment (via p-mail) telling them that they've been tagged and that they need to read your diary for more information.

MY SEVEN FACTS
1. I'm basically a very quiet kitty.
2. Pippin has me cowed.
3. Food is the number one thing in my life.
4. My dad is my favorite person.
5. Mom has to trim my bum hair--being a Manx, it's a necessity.
6. Buddy was my best friend; we used to do everything together.
7. Sometimes I allow Pippin to sleep next to me, as much as I don't like her.

Kitties to Tag
1. Abigail
2. Rocky Ann
3. Henry
4. Milton
5. Monroe
6. Mercy
7. Rascal

Mom was looking at me funny last week, like she was sizing me up. Then I found myself hefted onto Dad's shoulders while he got on some contraption. Turns out I weigh 20 lbs! I couldn't even feel the weight coming on; it snuck up on me. I admit to eating my lion's share of the food... *grin's sheepishly* But 20 lb?! She also weighed Tigger and Taylor and Taylor weighed 12 lb and Tigger under 10 lb. So, when I go in for my yearly Mom is going to ask the doctor how to put me on a diet *gasp!* I'm not happy about this!

What to get the cat who has everything? Toby my friend, you are at the Bridge and all is provided for you that you will ever need. And as such, it wasn't easy to pick a gift. I have chosen a selection of cat poetry/prose for you. Merry Christmas!

Much kitty love,
Bob

The Cat and the Moon

The cat went here and there
and the moon spun round like a top,
and the nearest kin of the moon,
the creeping cat, looked up.
Black Minnaloushe stared at the moon,
for, wander and wail as he would,
the pure cold light in the sky
troubled his animal blood.

Minnaloushe runs in the grass
lifting his delicate feet.
Do you dance, Minnaloushe, do you dance?
When two close kindred meet,
what better than call a dance?
Maybe the moon may learn,
tired of that courtly fashion,
a new dance turn.

Minnaloushe creeps through the grass
from moonlit place to place,
the sacred moon overhead
has taken a new phase.
Does Minnaloushe know that his pupils
will pass from change to change,
and that from round to crescent,
from crescent to round they range?

Minnaloushe creeps through the grass
alone, important and wise,
and lifts to the changing moon
his changing eyes.

William Butler Yeats

A Kitten

He's nothing much but fur
And two round eyes of blue,
He has a giant purr
And a midget mew.

He darts and pats the air,
He starts and cocks his ear,
When there is nothing there
For him to see and hear.

He runs around in rings,
But why we cannot tell;
With sideways leaps he springs
At things invisible -

Then half-way through a leap
His startled eyeballs close,
And he drops off to sleep With one paw on his nose.

Eleanor Farjeon

The Cat That Walked by Himself

"He will kill mice, and he will be kind to babies when he is in the house, just as long as they do not pull his tail too hard. But when he has done that, and between times, and when the moon gets up and night comes, he is the Cat that walks by himself, and all places are alike to him. Then he goes out to the Wet Wild Woods or up the Wet Wild Trees or on the Wet Wild Roofs, waving his wild tail and walking by his wild lone."

Rudyard Kipling
