Hi Friends,
My mom is making me tell you what I did this morning. I christened my grandma's suitcase! Mom has no idea what has gotten into me. I've never done anything like that before. All I can say is that she has two cats and I probably didn't like their smell and wanted to assert my dominance. After all, I am 18 years old! MOL

Hi Friends,
I had my checkup today. My heart murmur has lessened and I had some more fluids. The vet wants to see me on Wednesday for a recheck. I'll also be going in twice a week for fluids. My appetite is good and I seem to be feeling better. I'll let you know what the vet says on Wednesday.
Love and purrs,
Tigger

Dear Friends,
I had a little setback on Wednesday night, but I'm doing better now. My mom took me into the vet yesterday and it seems I needed some fluids to help me feel better. There is good news and bad news. The good news is, my weight is up. I gained some ounces since my checkup last month. :) The bad news is that the vet heard a heart murmur. This is something new, but she thinks/hopes it is due to my being somewhat dehydrated yesterday. I go back to see her on Saturday for a follow-up.
The other good news is that my blood pressure is normal. The change in the amount of medication has helped. It was slightly elevated last month, so the vet upped my Amlodipine.
Mom and Dad are going to start taking me into the vet to get fluids administered, since I won't allow them to do it themselves at home. The vet said that they won't charge for the administering of the fluids, just for supplies, so that helps out financially. :)
Purrs that the heart murmur is temporary would be most welcome.
Love,
Tigger

Hello Friends,
My mom keeps in email contact with Genny and Elise's mom. She said to let you know that Genny and Elise are doing well and their mommy sends her love to all her Catster friends. Right now she cannot visit Catster because of health issues, but her thoughts are with us.
Much love,
Tigger

Dear Friends,
I am back on my food today, no nausea and no vomiting. :) I also saw the vet. Mom and she had a long conversation about my prognosis. The plan is to see how the Pepcid works and then to start fluids twice a week. Since I am unwilling to let my mom and dad administer them, they are going to take me to one of the vet techs at my vet's office to have it done.
Thank you for the purrs, gifties for my page and p-mails. Thank you Boxie Brown for posting my request for purrs on the purr thread.
Love,
Tigger

I heard this song on my friend Pixie's page tonight. It has been such a long time since I heard it. It's so meaningful to me that I had to share the lyrics with you.
Colors of the Wind
You think you own whatever land you land on
Earth is just a dead thing you can claim
But I know every rock and tree and creature
Has a life, has a spirit, has a name
You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You learn things you never knew
You never knew
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon?
Or ask the grinning bobcat why he grinned
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest
Come taste the sun-sweet berries of the earth
Come roll in all the riches all around you
And for once never wonder what they're worth
The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
And the heron and the otter are my friends
And we are all connected to each other
In a circle in a hoop that never ends
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon?
or let the eagle tell you where hes been
can you sing with all the voices of the mountain
can you paint with all the colors of the wind
can you paint with all the colors of the wind
How high does the sycamore grow
If you cut it down, then you'll never know
And you'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
For whether we are white or copper - skinned
We just sing with all the voices of the mountain
Need to paint with all the colors of the wind
You can own the earth and still
All you'll own is earth until
You can paint with all colors of the wind.
Love,
Tigger

Hi Friends,
My vet was able to take my blood pressure today. Yea! Mom asked whether she had ever tried to take it on my tail (like several Catsters recommended) and she said yes, but that I didn't like it. So, she's sticking to my paw. :) She had me sit on my mom's lap and Mom petted me while she took the readings in the exam room (instead of taking me in the back room by myself where I tend to get stressed.) My blood pressure is a bit higher than normal, so the vet advised my mom to adjust my medicine up a little. Otherwise, I'm doing fine!
Bob had his Kitty Weight Watchers weigh-in today. He has lost 1 pound in three months. The vet said he is doing well, that the weight loss is nice and slow, but that mom can reduce his intake a little more. Poor Bob, he doesn't know it yet!
Love you all,
Tigger =^..^=

Mom let me try pink (strawberry) angel food cake tonight...just a tiny bite. I ate the first bite and then she offered me a second small piece. I spit out the second piece, so Mom didn't offer me any more. Then I lunged for the piece of cake in mom's hand, took another bite and promptly spit it out! Mom was LOL I seemed to enjoy this game and would have continued had Mom not taken the cake away and eaten the rest of the it. :)
Do any of you have interesting human foods you like to eat?
Love,
Your junk food junkie Tigger

Dear Friends,
Many of you are aware that Shelly Sue and her mom need our prayers, purrs and help. For those of you who do not know, Shelly Sue was diagnosed with asthma and she needs extensive and on-going vet treatment, treatment that her mom and dad simply cannot afford. They are making sure that Shelly Sue gets to the vet this Friday with great personal sacrifice.
There is a group on Facebook for Shelly Sue, which is helping to raise funds for her vet bill. If your mom or dad would like to join, please p-mail me with your parent's facebook name and my mom will invite them to the Facebook group. Please help Shelly Sue!
Love and purrs,
Tigger

Dear Friends,
I wanted to let you know how I am doing. I've had no vomiting or nausea for the past six days. Yea! :) I had my check up on this past Wedneday, and the vet did a complete blood panel, a physical exam, as well as "attempted" to take my blood pressure. The vet techs were unable to get good blood pressure readings, as I was not cooperative. I've still got catitude! MOL
The vet was happy to report that I have gained back the weight I lost this past year! I am an ounce shy of 8 pounds. That is pawsome news as it is so hard for CRF kitties to maintain their weight.
We got my blood panel results back from the vet on Thursday. The vet left a message with Dad saying that the results were "good". Mom and Dad were elated! Mom will get a copy of the lab report at my next appointment which is this coming Saturday the 2nd (for a re-blood pressure check) as she wants to see the numbers for her own reference.
My vet prescribed Pepcid for my nausea, and Mom had it compounded into a chicken-flavored liquid. I won't let her pill me, so thank goodness there is a liquid alternative. Mom has not used it yet, as I am not having nausea right now. But, it's good to know it's there just in case.
Overall, I am doing well with the CRF. My appetite is good and my weight is stable, and my numbers are good. We couldn't ask for more! :)
Sending love and purrs to my friends and thank yous for the p-mails, diary comments and presents!
Always,
Tigger
