OMC! When my mom got home from work today there were two packages on the front stoop. I was very excited to see what was in them. In one package was the sweetest St. Paddy's day Boutique Mouse and in the other a colorful patterned catnip bed! Thank you to my guardian angel Alfie for the precious mousie! And thank you to my nephew and niece, Zack and Zoey, for the cool catnip bed!
Mom loves the Erin the Irish Catnip Boutique Mouse so much she asked for permission from the nice purrson who made it to post a picture on my Catster page. Also, there is a video of me on my awesome new bed, on my Catster page.

My blood test results are in and I have good news! My Creatinine is the same as it was back in October and my BUN is just a tad higher than it was. My vet isn't too worried about the BUN as it can fluctuate a bit with diet, etc. She says I appear stable for now. As I mentioned before, we will try the fluids three times a week unless I need them more often. My next regular checkup will be in April. :)

I had a check up on Saturday, and the vet tech drew some blood. My vet is going to call with the results and I will let you know what they are. One thing that isn't so good is that I have to have fluids more often now...three times a week instead of twice a week.
I was somewhat dehydrated on Saturday, my last fluid session having been the Wednesday before. My vet thinks three days a week will be sufficient. Mom is going to take me back in for a re-check in two weeks to see if my new fluid schedule is working.
On a more positive note, my weight is pretty stable and my appetite is good. I haven't had any major vomiting from the CRF. Also, I seem happy and I am my affectionate self. :)

I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Thank you for remembering us with rosies and special gifts on our pages. It means so much to be here this Christmas. We are still taking it one day at a time with my CRF. I'm doing pretty well, still enjoying my food and lovies and looking forward to some turkey today! :)
May your holidays be filled with joy and happiness!

Fall has finally arrived! Yea! The temperature has dropped and it's time for cuddling together in front of the gas stove. Before we know it, Santa Paws will be on his way! I can't wait!
I wanted to send a thank you out to Samoa's Mom for making me a special order at Cat in the Clover. She created a lovely pet heating pad cover per my mom's request. You can see a picture of it on my page (third photo down). My mom bought me a pet heating pad which, unlike human heating pads, does not get too hot to the touch and is safe for furry felines like me. :)

Two more days until we get an infusion of Zealies. Two more days! We keep wanting to give gifties to our friends to celebrate important occasions like birthdays, etc. but we can't. We are having Zealie Withdrawls! MOL
On a more pawsitive note, I had a great checkup on Saturday! My Creatinine is down from 3.2 to 2.8 and my BUN is down from 57 to 49. My BUN is lower than it has ever been since I was diagnosed with CRF in February of 2010. So, we are all celebrating! :D My vet also changed the frequency of my Famotidine to twice a day and my Cerenia to every two days, to help with my acid stomach and nausea (which cause vomiting.) So far so good, the meds are working!

Mama gave us some catnip today and I wanted it all to myself! Pippin tried to come near it and I gave her the smacky paw. I've still got the spunk! MOL

Today is our six year anniversary on Catster! I have so many special friends to remember and to thank. I do want to mention a few of the long-time friends we still have, angels and earth kitties, and some new friends too.
Angels Rocky Ann, Louis LeBeau, Mercy, Hazel Lucy, Buddie, Calvin-Knead On, Balty, and Muffin, I sure do miss you all. You are forever in my heart. We are still friends with some of the very first kitties to extend their paw in friendship to us: Gimli, Muffy, Sally - Sweet Angel, Flinders, Bruce the Boss, Autumn (in my heart 4ever), Gato, Chiefy, Kassie of the Rainbow Bridge, Snipper, Mitzi Treasure Bird, Karma Kitty, Lisa, Marina and more... We've also made special new friends: Samoa, Finney, Simone, Alfie - The Lovebug Angel, Norman, tux (the doggie), WeBeesSiamese, Queen Talullah...I could go on, but I guess I'll stop with those names or this diary entry will be really really long. MOL :)
Finally, how can I adequately thank all those who supported my Mom during Taylor's illness and subsequent journey to the Bridge in 2010. It was such a sad time, but the pain was eased because of your friendship. Now, I face my own illness, and again, you are there for my mom. Thank you.
My 19th birthday is coming up on October 1st. My one wish is that some of my old friends would return to Catster this holiday season. I wish very much to see them again.
