Mommy's baaaaaaaack!

Mommy left us for a few days last week. She always says she'll always come back for me when she goes away like that, but I still hate to see the black suitcase.
Anyway, this time she had some new people come take care of us. A guy and then a mommy/daddy pair who stayed in the apartment for a few days. They were kind of crazy. I smelled their pillows, and they did NOT smell like any humans I ever knew!
I was glad to have Hermes and Vesta to keep me company this time around, but I still really hate it when mom's not here to keep the peace. And it's been hot!!! Maybe that's why she went away...
Well, that's about as exciting as things have gotten. Oh, and we got some new toys that bounce and have feathers and all sorts of fancy things to them. I'm still not sure what to make of them, but mommy threw them out for us to play with when she got home, so maybe I should give them a try.
Now we just need daddy to come home!!!!

Kitty's got some new siblings...

It's been a couple months since mom and dad decided we should all live together. I liked having them both around where we used to live, and I like having a bigger space, but I'm not always too keen on the new brother and sister that came along with all that. Hermes is funny, and oh so handsome, but Vesta still takes swipes at me and is not very nice. This is annoying, so some days I just pick a spot and don't let them near me! Muahahaha...
One of the other weird things is that I don't get to sleep with mom too much anymore. She said something about developing allergies now that the other kitties are here. Just another reason not to like them, I guess. Oh well. I got a new climbing tree, just like they had at PAWS, out of the deal, so I claim top bunk on that when I'm not in mom's room. Not too bad, but not the same.
Anyway, I was just realizing today that mom hadn't updated this stuff in a while, so I thought I should let you all know I'm doing fine, and that getting a new sibling or two does not have to be a deal-breaker. :o)
Let's just hope it doesn't get too hot here this summer!

Diary of the Day!!! Whoopee!!!

Mom says my diary got picked for one of the diaries of the day! Woohoo!!! I guess someone out there actually listens... which, actually, is more than I can say for mom some days. Like right now, she's working on packing up things into that funny black box with wheels. It's a great throne for a princess like me, but mom insists I not scratch on it, which is soooo disappointing because it feels sooooo good. Anyway, once she puts all her stuff in it, eventually she and the box disappear for DAYS on end and I get stuck with the neighbor or, worse, just daddy! Needless to say, I'm not exactly thrilled to see it out again (except as a new lounging option!). But, mom promises me every time that she'll always come back for me, and I guess she's been right so far, so hopefully I won't have to miss her too long this time.
Anyway, I'm so flattered to be one of the diaries highlighted today, and hope you'll all leave me some treats!!! Mmm... like the fresh dried catnip mom brought home last night... gotta get me some more of that. prrrrrrrr

Edamame? Who da mommy?

So, today I was sitting with mom as she was eating lunch. She doesn't normally like me to sit on the table when she eats, but I was more insistent this time... and who can resist a persistent princess? Plus, she was distracted by her magazine. But, more excitingly, she had the most delicious salty treat for me. I liked to pull out these little green things she kept squeezing and chewing and then leaving on her plate. She thought I was weird, something about soy and salt, but whatever. Then she gave me one of the little green blobs that came from inside the thing she was leaving behind. I thought it was fun to lick, because it was sooooo smooooooth, and then it was shiny. But mom kept insisting I try it again and again and before you know it, I ate the whole thing! I don't normally like her food (not enough fish and no meat!!!!), but now I'm hoping she makes edamame again soon, so I can join her... We'll be such "ladies who lunch," don't you think? It's totally hot.

Oh frabjuous joy!

Mom brought home the best thing ever-- a new scratching thing! This one stands up and I can reach super high up on it, unlike the lame-o ones she's gotten me in the past that just sit in my chair. Bah. This one is FANTASTIC! I scratched at it for like 10 minutes when it came, did a little dance around it, hugged it, sniffed it, sneezed on it (who else has been sniffing this thing? I don't care!), and generally loved it. It makes me purr... Now I can scratch all day, and mom doesn't get mad because it's not a place where she can put clothes or sit-- whoopee!
Alas, now I am pooped. Time to go back to nappi... zzzz....

Seasons come and seasons go, but...

...one thing I will always hate is STATIC! And it's far too early for it to be starting up again. Won't be long and I'll have to cringe every time mom goes to pet me... again. I love Chicago, but sometimes I wonder if a nice bird sanctuary in Florida wouldn't be a welcome change of pace. ::sigh::
Off to hide in my kitty carrier for the night-- lately it's been my favorite place: so snug and warm, and it takes mom forever to figure out where I'm hiding! mewahahaha

Busy day

This morning started off all wrong. It was raining around 4:30 this morning! I couldn't believe it! I had to fly off mom's head and jump under the bed first thing, and I didn't even get to sleep in with her like we normally do.
Then, mom didn't sing in the shower nearly as much as I like her to. I like to sing along, and she didn't give me a chance this morning, so I let her know I was NOT happy by staring at the trash can when she came out instead of asking to be petted. I think she got the message: this is garbage! Sing! Pet me!
After all that, I finally got my wet food breakfast, though it was too cold to really get into it. I don't like it as much once it's been refrigerated. Bleh!
As if all that weren't enough, then mom left me again for a few HOURS while it continued to look like rain all morning, so I gave up and took a nap. I was not in the mood to deal with this weather. Ick!
At lunch, she was back and we got some good snuggle time in on the couch. I don't know why she's so hung up on not sharing her juice and food with me, but she insisted I sit with her instead, so I humored her. I'll admit I enjoyed the attention, and falling asleep next to her is better than alone, any day! But then she left again! Ack!
Finally, 3 hours later, she came home after a day full of running errands and ignoring me. She fell asleep reading a magazine, and only woke up when the phone was ringing. So then I could go snuggle with her in the bed. At least I finally got her trapped, right where I wanted her! While she was making dinner, we played with my laser toy again, but I sort of lost interest in it. I hope she wasn't annoyed, but really, that thing just creeps me out. It can get on me and I don't feel it, and when I clobber it, it still gets away every time. I think I'll stick to bugs and my mice.
Anyway, I hope mom's more inclined to let me sleep on her head tonight, and that it doesn't rain so I can stay there all night. Her pillow is far far better than any other in the house, and nothin' says lovin' like waking her up by petting her face. awwwww

Hello, Catster! I'm ready for my close-up!

Mom's friend sent us an email about catster a long time ago. I've been tired of mom sitting on the computer all day doing "work" all the time and ignoring me-- so it's nice that now at least I know she's up to something about me!
I'm so flattered that instantly I had friends visiting my website and giving me treats. Mom's pretty skimpy on the treats, so at least I can get some on here.
Right now, I'm napping. It's been a busy morning of waking mom up, snuggling on her tummy, and patiently waiting for my post-shower adoration session.
