Tuesday is Spay Day USA

I know that for the most part I am preaching to the choir about spaying and neutering but you never know who is reading my diary. Please go to The Cat’s Meow Blog and read the fantastic post about Spay Day USA. Thank you Skeezix and FL for another great, informational post.

In other news, I got shut in the closet the other day. It wasn't quite as traumatic as my little pal Newman’s scary stay in his closet, it was still pretty bad. The vacuum monster is in there!!! Yikes. Mom was looking for something on the shelves and I just sneaked in. After about 2 minutes she heard me scratching on the carpet and pawing on the door. She couldn't figure out what it was or where it was coming from. She thought maybe LuLu puked again and I was trying to cover it with the carpet or whatever is close by. She went downstairs to the bedroom, no Diego. I probably had to stay in there a whole extra minute before she figured it out. Duh!

Mom is a bit worried about me. She doesn't think it is anything to worry about but I am being a little weird. I don't want to hang with mom upstairs on the couch, I would rather sleep on my bed on mom's bed. In the mornings when mom is getting dressed I am being extra extra needy. Probably nothing but my kitty mood changes but she is going to keep a good eye on me.

Socks the cat passed away today at the age of 19. Socks was a great role model for presidential pets and well loved by many.

LuLu's new collar

Did you see the beautiful new collar Gleek sent my sister LuLu? She is too shy to model but so I jumped in to help.

Mom makes these pretty flowers called Kanzashi. She hasn't been able to come up with a really good idea for what to do with them when they are made. She sent a couple to Gleek's mom. Well, they sent back one on a gorgeous red and white collar. Mom's flower looks beautiful. We are so impressed with Gleek's mom's talent.

Sending Purrrrs

We are so sad to read and see on the news all about the fires in Australia. Me and LuLu & mom are all sending our best to our Catster friends there as well as all the citizens who are displaced and have lost family members. We are purrrrrrrrrrrrring hard for you all and that they can get the fires under control soon. Let's also hope they catch whoever started the fires. How awful can some people be.

Again?? Really??

Why do they all have to come to MY house? We have another wandering no collar kitty around. Mom has only seen him a couple of times. Guess what, he looks just like me but with a little less white on the chest. He doesn't come by that often and mom has never seen him eat the neighbors food like the other stays always have. He isn't skinny either. Mom also thinks it's strange that she has seen him during the day time. All the other have started as night time visitors. Mom is hoping that he is just a new family cat in the hood and is exploring his new territory.

Well, let me tell you what that scamp did today! Mom cracked the front door so I could hang out in the carport. She was on the couch in full view of the front door. She was busy on the computer and not paying that much attention until she heard LuLu hiss. She got up to yell at me to leave her alone except it wasn't me LuLu was hissing at. He came right in the front door in front of mom and all. He made his way to the kitchen and was sniffing our food before I came in and he ran back out. Mom put some food out for him just in case.

I will have to keep my eye on this dude.

Go Red!

Samoa’s Diary reminded us that today is the day we should all wear red to support the fight against heart disease in women.

Samoa started a stroll so us Catsters can show our support as well. Pick out a photo of you wearing red, on red, playing with red or anything having to do with red and tag it "go red". I decided to wear my red sombrero and LuLu is playing with her red heart.

Purrring for Scooter

Our dear friend Scooter and her family are in need of our purrs. Scooter is an amazing 20 years old. She has been having problems over the past couple of days. She is now home from the hospital resting with her mom and dad. Scootie's mom wrote in her diary that plans have been made to help her to the bridge in the next couple of days. We are so sad to read this.

Scooter was one of our very first friends here on Catster. She showed us the ropes and got my sister LuLu all set up in the Old Furts group. She has been such a good friend to us and all of her friends.

Mom's eyes are leaking and I need to get back to purrring so I better go. Please keep Scooter in your thoughts and purrs.

Kitten party right now!

A few days ago Skeezix posted a kitten cam in his blog. Mom and I have been watching non-stop. They are just too cute.

Right now (Wednesday 2:45), they have added sound and the kittens are having a going away party since they will be up for adoption this weekend. They are out of the pen and running around like crazy.
