Thanks to all our friends that sent us gifts for our Gotcha Day. We didn't get notifications and didn't realize how many we had. Thank you all for continuing to think of us.
Hard to believe 17 years ago that mom and dad, after working with our local rescue, came and picked us up. They handed mom Patches first and said here is a little Calico that doesn't purr much. Patches stayed that way until the end of her life. You had to work hard to earn her purr. Then they came out with a little gray ball of fur that was purring. ME! I've always been an easy going guy who does purr alot. I have a great forever home and I'm lucky to now have Spice with me and all my friends.
Thank you all again,
With much love,

So many of us know and love Smiley Cassanova. He's been there through good and bad for us and helped so much. Smiley is very ill and needs all the purrs, prayers, thoughts and power of the paw we can give.
Here is his page
Please stop by and offer the kind of support to him and his mom that he has given to all of us.
*wipes tears away and purrs hard for his good buddy*

Mom wanted to wait to write this entry until she knew things were going to be OK. Two weeks ago mom took me to the vet because I had turned down my treats the night before and I NEVER turn down treats. And I wasn't acting like I felt good.
Later that day the vet called and told mom that I had kidney disease. Mom was shocked. See, we lost Patches to kideny disease just two years ago. The vet wanted to keep me at the hospital over the weekend and give me IV fluids. She wanted to treat this aggressively as she felt it was very early kidney disease and a lot could be done to stablize me.
I came home on Monday, 2/24 to Spice hissing at me. I slept a lot for a few days. They said I was comfortable and resting well, but who ever rests well at the vet?
So I was eating only a little bit at a time so I was getting fed about 6 times a day. Mom was gettig up a couple of times in the middle of the night to make sure I ate.
I went back this past Monday for a follow up. The vet says I'm stable and to continue on with the meds and the kidney diet and she will see me in 30 days. Mom hopes the meds will help get my numbers down too.
I am playing like I was before, running with Spice, playing with toys, sleeping with mom and acting "normal" for me, so mom feels good we are on the right path. She would still like me to gain more weight but as long as I'm not losing, she figures that is still a good sign too.
Thanks to all my friends for the PoP and purrs and prayers. Both mom and I appreciate our friends here and that is just another reason why we love Catster so much.......such support!
Hugs and purrs

I want to thank all my friends for all the Gotcha Day Wishes yesterday and all the gifts and rosies. I really appreciate all my friends sharing what is a very special day to me. Fifteen years ago, at the meager age of 5 weeks old, I came to my forever home. Mom had been trying to get us for a few days and our foster mom kept "forgetting" to bring us to work so mom could pick us up (she worked at a vet) and finally, on New Year's Eve, she brought us in and out came a fidgety calico kitten (Patches) and a little gray ball of fur (me). We finished the year with a new mom and dad and the next day....New Year's Day, our first full day in our new home, a new year, a whole new start and it has been totally PAWSOME. Mom and dad love us and spoil us rotten. They took care of Patches when she was sick and after we lost her, brought Spice in because they knew I liked companionship.
Of all the days to celebrate, the gotcha days are the best because that is the day we chose, and our parents chose, to start a new life together! So THANK YOU to all my friends for sharing in that joy.
Happy New Year and I hope that 2014 is good to all of us.

I turn 15 today and it has started out pretty darn good. At 5am I was walking through the house yelling (mom thinks I was singing to myself) then went up to make sure mom was awake to sing me Happy Birthday.
Normally we don't get canned food on Friday but since it's my birthday, we did. Of course Spice gets to share in that treat but it's OK because all in all, she is a pretty good little sisfur.
Then after breakfast, I got a case of the zoomies and took off through the house with Spice chasing. We had fun running and mom loves to see me like that too.
We have said thank you to all our friends so far who have left gifts. Since mom is on vacation next week, I don't know how much she'll be able to go back to my page to check, so if you leave us a gift, I thank you VERY much for thinking of me and helping me to celebrate a special birthday and for being my friend.
Hugs from the birthday boy,

Just an update for all my friends with where dadcat is after his stroke on 8/17.
He is doing well, went to Physical Therapy once, and they released him. So physically he is doing well (of course...Spice and I are working hard at taking care of him!)
He will take speech therapy for a long time, but we do expect him to get back to talking like a normal human again at some point.
Thanks to all for the purrs and thoughts...we appreciate that. We love our dadcat so much and so glad he is still here with us and recovering well.

Well, I've told you all about Lillian and how crazy I am about her. I had a ring for a while and couldn't find the right time to propose. We went on a spa trip to Mexico and it just seemed right so I proposed and she said yes! Neither of us wanted to wait so I found the wedding coordinator and we got married right there...On June 18th, 2013, I married the love of my life! We are having a party in C&D this Sunday 6/30 to celebrate. Hope you can all join us!
Phantom...the happily married guy!

We had rain that started Saturday night and went through Monday. Lots and lots of flooding in our area. We are safe but there has been a lot of damage. Monday the sun came out and this morning it was out but by lunch it was raining again, HARD and we don't need that. It is possible it is going to continue until Saturday. We need lots of days of dryness to get back to normal. We want to get on the porch and watch springtime but when it's this wet, we can't even go on the porch.
GO AWAY RAIN!

I was tagged by my beautiful girl Lillian's handsome brother Dashiell to play this game.
1. Describe one thing your pet pawrent does that you think is REALLY CUTE.
How mom picks me up and carries me around talks to me. Some days, it's really cute because it does get up above the counter levels and I can see if there is anything I need to get up there and get. MOL!
2. Describe one thing your pet pawrent does that you think is REALLY LAME.
Mom thinks she is being slick by dumping the dry food left in our bowls and mixing it in and pouring it back in to the bowls like it is new food. She knows I love it when a new bag of food is open and she thinks this is tricky, but I know what she is doing and it is kind of lame!
I will send pmails to my friends I'm tagging and if anyfur reads this and wants to play along too, feel free to copy my diary and play with us!
