A Wild Week

Last week sure was wild around here. I bet you are wondering what I did. MOL! But it was not wild because of me. Well for the most part anyway. It was wild due to Mother Nature. Last Monday (March 12) we had an earthquake. Just a 3.2 and very small by standards in other areas but and earthquake all the same. Since we don't get many here by the Great Lakes, it was something to be noticed. Then the weather finally warmed up to a summer-like day. That brought storms and a tornado to the area. It was not far from us but not real close either. That all led to an ice storm and more snow. I wasn't sure what would be coming next. I hope that this week will be a bit more calm. Although if Mother Nature is anything like me, then calmness won't be happening any time soon. ;)

Snow Be Gone

It has finally warmed up some and the big snow we got late last week is melting. It is still about a foot deep on our deck but it is starting to go away. We have huge icicles on our sunroom because we heat it but being all glass, the heat escapes and somehow or other, we get the icicles. One of them is almost all the way to the ground today and dripping like crazy. My dad said he will bring us in some later so Louis and I can lick them. We love that. It's like a melting popsicle but tastes like outside. MOL! Anyway I do like my snowbugs when they fall gently from the sky but having a mass attack of them so they lay 20" deep on my yard is not good. Then they just form a cold blob of white. So today they are sinking into the ground as I watch. Just another good thing to celebrate today. By the way, Happy Mardi Gras to all our friends!

My Fifth Birthday

Sunday, January 28th will mark 5 years since I sprang into this world. And I am still springing. MOL! OK I will admit to having slowed down just a bit this past year. I take a longer nap in the afternoon and things like that. When I am awake though, I still run and climb and so all the stuff I have always liked to do. I did some checking for interesting facts for January 28th. I really didn't find much. :-/ I was surprised to see so many bad things happen on that day though! A couple of big plane crashes a few years back and of course the ill-fated flight of the Challenger space shuttle back in 1986. I only saw one famous person that I recognized to share my birthday and that was Alan Alda. He is going to be an ancient 71 or so years old. Yikes! So that's about all I have to say about my birthday. Oh and I sure hope that Louis lets me take a nap on his special dining room chair that day. Hehehe.

In honor of the Thanksgiving holiday in a couple of days, I thought I would list some of what I am thankful for this year(in no particular order):

I am a lucky cat! Happy Thanksgiving!

Just Ducky

I had an alarming photo of a couple of ducks on my page previously. They were, after all, missing their heads. My mom says they were perfectly fine and just going under the water to look for food. These ducks are not in our pond. Ducks can be kind of hard on a pond due to all the "waste" they have. Our filtration system could not handle it so no ducks allowed on our pond. This pond is nearby though so I thought I would mention the funny looking photo. I think I would like to meet these ducks. Now I'm not one to lose my head over anything but I bet they are a lot of fun anyway. MOL! (Sorry if you read this sometime after the photo is taken down too.)

Grumpy Frog

Louis is lucky because he is brave enough to go outside on leash walks. I am a scaredy cat so I stay inside. I don't have all those fun things that happen on walks to share with you. But I do have the pond. It is located right below our sunroom windows. I have my cat tree by those windows and overlooking the pond. I sit there quite awhile each day and watch all the critters that either live in or around our pond. I would like to share some of them with you from time to time. I will start with the noisiest inhabitant of our pond- Grumpy Frog. This big bullfrog chatters at us anytime we make a little noise. My mom puts dishes away in the kitchen and he grump grump grumps. You can imagine that in frog sounds. MOL! We close a door and grump grump grump. He's really silly and sure doesn't like noise. He sits on the rocks in between the pools of our waterfalls. Frog legs, any cat?

Cat Attraction

Sometimes I have been known to like unusual things. I don't think they are unusual but some of the rest of the world does. Did I ever mention how much I like to lick photographs? My mom has to hide them from me. And the ones she prints out are almost more than I can bear not to lick all the picture right off of them. Odd as that all may be, that is not my new love. Now I am going crazy over Off, the bug repellent! My mom puts that on and I can't stop trying to lick her skin. Actually she won't let me lick the stuff at all but I keep trying and trying. If it were up to me they would sell Off not as bug repellent but as cat attraction. MOL!

That Darn Video

Well I thought it was about time for an update to my diary. And some comments on my video. Nobody is more surprised than me to see myself being caught in the act so many times. I rue the day the digital camera was invented! Of course I don't actually remember all those incidents being captured on a camera. Maybe I was too engrossed in what I was doing that I didn't notice the camera. Or maybe the photos were all made up in a graphics program to make me look bad. Yeah- that's IT! I mean why in the world would I stand in the middle of a plant for instance? How strange is that? Mol! (It really was fun to do.) I guess the one good thing is apparently some of you can't see the videos for various reasons. If ya can't see it then you'll never know what all I have done so far in my life. Phew! What a relief that is. Over and out.......

To Catch a Thief

I've never denied being a thief. I've written in my diary before about stealing bread for instance. So it should come as no surprise that I have been busy taking a few more things that I am not supposed to have. My main sought after item of late is any of the small bags of cat treats that sit up on the counter. I am actually allowed to have the contents of those bags, just not when I might happen to want some. So I am left with no choice but to steal them. I generally do this in the morning while my mom is checking her email and just busy on her computer. I do have a conscious though and usually carry the bags right to her. That's also part of the cute factor that keeps me out of trouble with most of my thefts. It also gets me a couple of the treats! Yes! Crime does pay. However this morning I found something new to steal that did get me in a bit more trouble. I wasn't sure what was in the bag I found neatly sitting on the coffee table but I figured it just had to be cat treats for me. So I picked the corner of the bag up to run with it and oh no! A whole bunch of jelly beans fell out of the hole my dad had put in the bag so he could steal some of those jelly beans. With all the racket the jelly beans made spilling onto the coffee table and the floor, I was caught in record time by my mom. So I guess the moral of my story is- If you want to be a good thief, don't spill the beans. Hehehe.

My Fourth Birthday

I have not put anything in my diary for awhile so I thought today was a good time to do so. Each year that I have a birthday I wonder if that is the year that I will quit being so mischievous and into things all the time. But each year I decide that no, that is not the year and maybe next year would be better. After all I do so enjoy my fun. Maybe my 4th birthday is the year to calm down though. I mean how many loaves of Italian bread and buns can I possibly steal in my time? How many plants can I uproot? How many miles can I run through the house back and forth? My impulse is to say that the answer to those questions is infinite. I suppose thinking like that might tend to get in the way of calming down though. Oh no, what do I see? A fresh new loaf of Italian bread sitting idly on the toaster oven. It looks like I am not going to behave myself today. I am going to grab that loaf of bread and run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) Happy Birthday to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....
