Proven Innocent

I almost forgot to tell you about the result of the card on top of the clock from my last diary entry. I am innocent!! The clock started to gain time and the card was never moved from the top of the buttons. I knew it wasn't me changing the time and I am sure that you knew it wasn't me too. And now my mom & dad know it wasn't me . Yay! (Time to get a new clock.) MOL!

I'm Innocent- I Think

We have a clock on our entertainment center. It's one of those with a radio and has red digital numbers for the time. It's been gaining time. I have a habit of jumping onto the top of the entertainment center. My mom really doesn't like me up there as I tend to jump up onto other more dangerous areas. But you know me- I go anyway. Well this clock has been gaining time as I said. My mom has had and does have a few of these around the house. Usually they either work or they don't. She says it is rare to see one gain time. So my dad said I must be standing on the button on top the clock( used to change to the time) to move the numbers forward. Last night my dad set the clock again and it kept purrfect time all the way until he went to bed. Sometime mid-morning today, he noticed the clock was fast again. I got the blame. I always get the blame around here for some mysterious reason. Hehehe. He said I must have stood on the buttons in the middle of the night and made the time go forward. If I did, I sure don't recall it. So they have set a trap. They stood a card up on the clock. So if it gains time without the card getting knocked off then they know it is the clock and not me. If the card falls then I get the blame. I swear I am innocent! But so far the clock has not gained any time since this was done. Stay tuned for the cliff-hanging conclusion........

Ethan the Innocent

Well you might have noticed that we changed the words after my name from "needs purrs" to "doing well now". So that sums it up quick. MOL! I do still have the tail problem and the heart murmur business to deal with but I am feeling good now. I am just a notch below my usual viper speed around the house. But that will be improving to full throttle too I bet. Thanks again for all the good care you gave me as I think that's what did the trick. I won't update unless there is news on anything else. Have a purrfect weekend!

Friday Update

It's been strange the last 18 hours or so. Last night I took a turn for the worse and got very sick again! I was back hiding in the closet, more bad diarrhea, not eating and very depressed. My mom thinks the shot wore off as the vet said 48 hours and the pain returned in my tail and that made the rest of me feel bad too. My mom put me in a spare bedroom for the night so I would stay calm and so she would know if I ate anything. She did not sleep well at all due to worrying. Then she got up this morning and opened my door and I leaped out. I ate very well overnight, had bright happy eyes and was on the move. :) She said it was like a miracle. She never expected to see me looking so good. I even tried to climb the bookcase and ran when I heard my mom coming to check out the noise I was making. So maybe this time I really am on the mend. I do still have a crook in my tail but otherwise feel pretty good. I do not have to go to the vet at this time as the less stress for me and Louis, the better right now. But I may have to go see about this tail before long. So please purr for me for today yet to be sure I stay fine through the night tonight. I really think that must be why I had such an improvement since last night- all the healing purrs you sent. You are all amazing. :) I can't thank you enough.

Ethan

Thursday Update

I think I'm doing OK. I'm just kinda being quiet and not at all like my normal self. Not all that active either. I am eating fine. We are not going to do any antibiotics for now and see how I do. The vet said we can always get back on some in a couple of days if my mom thinks I need them. I'm still the same with my tail. I lick it a lot like it is bothering me but when my mom runs her hand down it, I have no reaction. I hope it will be OK. My mom said she misses seeing me prance toward her with my ring-tail held high. I think she is gonna post a pic of me and how I am now holding it. Thanks friends for all the drinks you sent me! I am sure well-hydrated now and I really love the taste. :)

First of all I have to say how great all of you Catster friends have been to me for my illness. I will thank each of you when I feel a bit better but for now I am saying a general thank you for the purrs, purrayers, good thoughts, well wishes, rosettes and stars. All of you sure make not feeling well a little less awful. I was doing a bit better last night. I was even eating some. But today I am not eating and have severe diarrhea. (I know an icky topic!) from the antibiotics. So the vet said to stop them and tomorrow they will try another kind. I was a bit depressed earlier and no change with my tail. I can't seem to hold it up and it has a crook in it now. Maybe I merged with some of Scooter's Siamese traits?? But my crook is about 3" from the base of my tail. The last hour or so I am feeling much more like my happy self though. I even went after Louis and sent him into a fit of growls and hisses. He still hates me from having a vet smell. But I did enjoy that little attack on him. My fever seems to be gone. So I suppose today is good news and not so good news all mixed in there. I still have no idea what happened but it all may be lucky as it helped us find that heart murmur. We can deal with that next. Now if only I wanted to eat.

I am pretty sick today

I started to feel really ill yesterday. I did not eat and spent the day and night in the closet hiding. I kind of acted like I had pain in my abdomen. I am keeping my tail down and at an odd angle. I went to the vet this morning. The exam seemed pretty normal. But he did find a grade 3 heart murmur on me. I never heard about that before. But the current problem has me very lethargic and my endless energy has vanished. My mom did not sleep all night as she just kept checking on me and is very worried. I am now on antibiotics and got a shot for pain. I do have a fever too. The vet said if I am not better in 2 days that we will have to start bloodwork and maybe some other tests. So please keep me in your good thoughts and send me some healing purrs. My mom said I acted just like a little mouse at the vet. I never moved a muscle and was just so quiet.

Quiet purrs,
Ethan

The New Wrestling Mat

The other day Louis & I had an interesting and somewhat wild wrestling match. He was laying on the floor and I started to pester him. He got mad and decided to run from me. Silly boy to think he could outrun the speed of my long legs. MOL! As I went to pounce, he jumped onto the dining room chair and in the same effort, right onto the dining room table. I went right after him. We proceeded to roll and wrestle right on the table. My mom had been to the store for cat food that morning and 24 cans of the food were neatly stacked on the table about to be put away. Yep, those went flying everywhere as did some of my dad's papers and the silk flower arrangement as we bulled over it. My dad came in to break up the brawl and I took off for the sunroom. Louis just laid there on the table. He has nerve I'll give him credit for that. Dad asked him if he might move as we are not supposed to use the table for our wrestling mat. He didn't budge. So Dad picked him up and moved him to the floor. My mom just rolled her eyes at us. Yesssir, a job well done by Louis and me in once again amazing out parents. ;)

It seems that I have been tagged by Cole to participate in a meme.

The rules: Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own blog about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your blog.

!. I lick my parents' hands, arms and legs constantly.
2. Most of the time I lay on my back with my feet in the air to sleep.
3. I like to chase bubbles my mom makes for me from the dish soap bottle.
4. I like to sit in front of the computer monitor so my mom only sees me and not the screen.
5. I am known as "doorman" at my house as I run to see Mom & Dad off any time they leave.
6. I like to drink plant water when it runs out the bottom of the plant pot and into the saucers. Good stuff!
7. I like to stalk Louis and jump on his back to make him mad.

Now I tag these 7 cats:

1. Kayleigh
2. Charlie
3. Baby Girl
4. Sparky
5. Jules Vern
6. Ruby
7. Merlin

Summer was Nice

Yes our ONE day of Summer was really spectacular. It was last week and was 80 and sunny. A few days later we have about 6" of snow, about at the freezing mark for temperature and more snow coming down. All our pretty daffodils have kind of wilted away. We had them such a short time. On a much brighter note, I am still dancing around over winning the Catster Winter Carnival 2007 Photo Contest. My photo that won was of me doing some real fancy snowboarding. And I hope you got to see all the photos in the contest as they were so good and so much fun to look through. I will be modeling my prizes once I decide exactly what I want. Many thanks to Leo's mom for her great creations. And for giving them as the prize. I also want to thank the Catster Winter Carnival Group for holding the photo contest and for all who took the time to vote for the photos. I suppose a nap would be in order now after all that typing.

Ethan
