I am Not In A Good MoodJune 2nd 2009 11:44 am[ View A Comments ]
Today was the day I finally met Kirby nose to nose. I am not happy about this! I growled and hissed and growled some more. I just know that little sneak is trying to take over my empire here. I got new for him-- it is not going to happen. Now I am even growling at Ethan because I wanted to remind him of my position of alpha cat too. Kirby follows me too much and too closely and it gets to me after awhile. He does not do that to Ethan. That is part of why I think he wants to challenge me one day. My mom says she thinks we did pretty good and each day will get better between all of us. And all I have to say is HISSSSSSSSSSSS.
My Gotcha DayMay 10th 2009 6:51 am[ View A Comments ]
Today is May 10th, my Gotcha Day. It also happens to be Mother's Day so I think quite fitting at our house. I don't remember much about being got to tell you about. MOL! It was 9 years ago after all. I am sure it was the happiest day of my life as I have been happy ever since. My mom does take some looking after though. I sit close by her and watch her when she is sick. I worry so much. We have a very special bond between us. She's my buddy, my best friend and of course my mom. So we will celebrate at my house today. Both for my mom and for me. A twosome as always. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms on Catster. I hope your day is special too.
Getting Caught UpMay 7th 2009 8:50 am[ View A Comments (1) ] We had so much fun a couple of weekends ago at the Pen Paws Birthday Pawty. Ethan and I won some prizes and pics will be up shortly. I won a super soft and pretty collar made by Samoa's mom. Ethan won a soft scarf made by Hazel Lucy's mom. We also won some toys too. We went to the Kentucky Derby and were Grand Marshals of the Catster Blog's Easter Parade. So Ethan & I have been pretty busy. We've also been watching the pond because a big fat groundhog is coming over from our neighbor's yard and eating our Black-Eyed Susans. He sits and scarfs them down like they are his giant salad bowl! It is pretty amazing to watch. My mom's been pretty sick for a couple of weeks and we know we've gotten behind in some things but we hope to catch up real soon.
A Grand Birthday It WasMarch 20th 2009 8:36 am[ View A Comments ]
I think I have finally recovered enough to tell you how great my birthday was. By recovered I mean from celebrating. You know I did get some very good catnip after all. MOL! Thanks to all of you for helping me have a very memorable 9th birthday. Thanks to Skeezix for naming me as Grand Marshall of the St Patrick's Day Parade in the Cat's Meow. That was so much fun and a big honor for me. Thanks to every cat for the rosettes, special gifts, paw mail, email, cards and gifts! It was all so exciting! From my parents and Ethan I got a new bed. It's a replacement for an old bed we have in the sunroom. Not really my style but Ethan seems to like it. Methinks he probably picked it out. I got a new Drinkwell 360 fountain. It's pretty cool and comes with 5 tops so you can have one waterfall stream all the way up to 5! We have settled on four for now. :) We can drink on any side of it. I hope to get some pics up soon. I also got a talking treat ball that sounds just like my mom!?! Too funny! Then I got a small assortment of new catnip toys. All very good and the main reason why I was unable to post sooner. Hee!!! My dad also took me for a long walk on my birthday. I finally got to wear my new walking jacket. Umm, don't be too impressed by that as it is really just a very comfortable harness! Anyway I was a bit bugged about turning 9 years old but I am feeling much better about it now that it has come and gone. Well about time to go indulge in a bit more catnip. Thanks again as I don't know what I'd do without all my furriends!!

I Will Miss Our Big KoiFebruary 24th 2009 8:08 am[ View A Comments ]
Our pond was frozen for a long time over the past Winter. It thawed and then froze again. I was sad to see our biggest koi floating after the ice melted. He was a huge fish and about 24" and all white. He had been in our pond since he was just a little baby many years ago. My dad said there was no wounds on him or anything. We have no idea why he went to Rainbow Bridge but we all will sorely miss seeing him in the pond this coming Summer. Maybe the long hard Winter was just too much for him this year. We just have one koi left and the two of them were always together. He is probably very sad that his friend is gone too. My pawrents decided to not have koi in the pond anymore. We have a big problem with herons coming to eat the fish. My mom gets very attached to the koi as they each have their own personalities and all. So each time those big birds come here for lunch, it breaks my mom's heart. We do all we can to protect the fish but sooner or later the bird gets his way. From now on we will just have fantails, comets and shubunkins in the pond. They kind of look alike so it is much harder to tell one from another and get too attached to them. Anyway please keep my big fish in your purrs than he is safe and happy at Rainbow Bridge.
The Fishing PoleFebruary 17th 2009 10:45 am[ View A Comments ]
For Valentine's Day Ethan and I got a cat fishing pole. We don't actually do the fishing but our mom or dad does. It works just like a real one from what I have heard. My mom casts the line out. It has a mousie on the end of the line. Ethan chases it across the room. I prefer to lay and wait for the mouse to be reeled back in. As it goes by me I grab it and bite it a few times. MOL! I also like to bite the line but my mom reels it in fast when I do that before I can chew through the line. She's just no fun at all sometimes. That mousie sure is though.
Until We Meet Again ScooterFebruary 6th 2009 6:49 am[ View A Comments ]
Yesterday I lost a very wonderful and very special friend here on Catster. It's a little hard to know what I want to say in this tribute. So I will just start and see where my thoughts go. I remember the first time Scooter wrote me a pawmail. It was when we were both finalists in the first Catster photo contest. She wished me luck and I did the same in return. I thought that was pretty cool that she took the time to do that. We wrote more and she really seemed to enjoy Ethan's antics with the Jell-O eating and dragging a bag of buns around the house, etc. We made another wonderful friend through Scooter and that was her best friend, Kazumi Joy. They even shared a birthday. Scooter always seemed maybe a little amazed back then at how much we enjoyed her sense of humor. I think she felt not every cat understood it. MOL! I think most did though and appreciated it. We loved hearing about her evil twin who always managed to show up when she was at the vet. ;) She had so much class and many of us could learn a lesson from the way she treated others. Being a caring friend was what mattered. She was rewarded with many caring friends in return. Friends who will miss her and also love her forever. Thank you, Scooter, for being there and for making my Catster life a whole lot more fun. It has been a true honor knowing you.

I haven't posted my Christmas story of how the tabby "M" came to be in a couple of years. So for new furriends and old, enjoy!
