Boring Day

Today was a bad day here. We were supposed to have hurricane Irene today and it rained all day long. The problem was that all my dogs were stuck in the house with me. It was awful!!!
In an attempt to keep us entertained Mom took photos of us as we went along in our day to day activities. Of course, I am very active so I got lots of photos.
I will be so happy when tomorrow dawns sunny and bright and my life can return to normal, mol!!!

Thunderstorms????

Yesterday afternoon I was calmly sitting up on a big pile of dog crates out in my Summer kitchen. It was pretty nice out there and I was hoping a little mousie would pass by under me.
Suddenly, it started getting really dark and very, very quiet.
Thinking it must be much later than I realized, I started to climb down when there was a HUGE flash of blue light and immediately, the loudest BOOM I have EVER heard. Even the crates I was lying on shook!
Then, it sounded like the whole world was crashing down and leaves and water were blowing EVERYWHERE outside. Next, a HUGE branch fell off the tree and hit the side of the Summer kitchen.
Man, I didn't stick around out there!!!! Mom opened the door and I rushed right in. I was sooo scared I literally clung to her... when she was walking somewhere, I was glued to her feet.
I tried to hide in the bedroom but it was so loud in there that the windows were even shaking. And, those flashes of light were giving me a HUGE headache.
Mom went in to check on the dogs...they were all sleeping calmly, silly dogs. I followed her in there, still glued to her feet, and decided it was too scary in there, too!
Then, all the lights went out AND STAYED OUT for TWELVE hours!!! I was sooo scared I never left Mom ONCE, I even went into the bathroom with her, MOL!
Those silly dogs were acting like it was all a normal day. I wonder if they had any idea how close to death we all came????

Kennel again?????

This morning Mom was bustling around, getting lots of stuff together and then I saw it.... MY CAT CARRIER!!!! I tried to run and hide, but I was too slow and she grabbed me. After Susie teased me about it a bit, Mom took me over to the boarding kennel AGAIN!!!
This time it seems that she is having friends over and they are camping down in the lab pen. How does that involve me, you ask??
Well, apparently, Mom thinks I am too eager to escape outside and go camping down there with them. She says everytime she closes her eyes she has visions of me squashed in the road. So, for my own good (I LOVE that phrase!!!), she puts me in prison.
Oh well, this time I am out tomorrow!!!! Guess I will just have to make the best of it and try to convince Laurie that Mom didn't give me my breakfast, MOL!!!!

Ohhh, I am SICK!!!

When Mom came home from work I rushed right out into the Summer kitchen cuz I had been hearing a HUGE mousie out there. I went over to my secret hiding place and waited.
I waited and waited and waited and finally, the silly mousie showed his face and I CAUGHT HIM AND I ATE HIM!!!!
At first it was okay... I just had a full stomach and so I was resting a bit. But, suddenly, I was SICK!!! I kept puking and puking and puking.
Mom heard me out there so she let me in the house and cleaned up all the mess I left behind.
Now I am lying on the floor, feeling BAD!!! I was panting, but that is better now and Mom says I will live, no doubt!
Who knew that mousie was SOOO HUGE??????
I think next time I will just bring the whole thing into the house in one piece and show it to Mom that way. Might be healthier???

Pawrents, UGH!!!!

My Mom is VERY, VERY BAD!!!
Take today, for example. It seems I have been selected as a Diary pick of the day. Did MY Mom let me know this???? NOPE, she did NOT! Did she tell me I got well wishes and gifts from you guys???? NOPE, she did NOT!
It was a normal morning. I woke her up, she got up and fed me, then did the usual morning things and headed off to work. She DID NOT come home for lunch, in fact, she did not come home at all UNTIL about 3PM. I happen to know it's HER afternoon off, WHERE WAS SHE??????
Did she tell me I was a Diary Pick when she finally got home??? NO, she did NOT!!!! In fact, she changed her clothes and headed right back out the door and hopped in the car.
Man, was I planning REVENGE!!! I was gonna do all kinds of BAD things when she got home, that is for sure!!!
Finally, I spied her drive into the yard. I watched her come in, loaded down with bags. Hmmmmmm.... what is that I smell????
She got a big box out of one of the bags and put it on the table. It smelled soooo goood. She opened the box and out fell a small plastic bag with kitty dope in it. I grabbed the bag and ran.
She got the bag back, finished opening the box and sprinkled some of the kitty dope on the inside of the box. I followed her into MY room and she hung the box on the door knob.
I attacked it immediately!!!
What a nice Mom I have. She noticed my scratching post was all ripped and falling apart and she bought me a NEW ONE!!!!
Guess I better rethink the revenge!

OMC... the KENNEL?????

This morning seemed like any other. I got up, bugged Mom by weaving thru her legs until she finally fed me, then I moseyed out to the Summer kitchen to see what might have changed out there during the night.
Boring, so I came back inside to help Mom drink her morning coffee and bring the dogs back inside.
And, then it went terribly wrong!!!! Mom picked me up and STUFFED ME IN A CARRIER!!!! OH NO!!!! She sat in on a chair, then I started rocking it, so fortunately, she put it on the floor. I complained bitterly, but it did no good and pretty soon, off to work we went.
Once I got there she stuffed me in a cat cage! At least she gave me food and water, whew. I, however, do not like cats!!! I hissed and growled and snarled at all those other cats to let them know who was the boss in here!!!
I climbed up to the top shelf where I could look out the window and see who was coming and going. HEY, that's my Riley over there... MOMMY, can I play with Riley????? NO, why NOT!!!
Oh well, it's only for the weekend, she says and it will do me good, she says. Hrumph.

Me & my harness...

Well, Mom is deciding the harness isn't going to be such a great idea. Seems like now that I got the taste of the great outdoors again I can't seem to stop myself from sneaking out the door.
I did find an almost surefire way to do it!! I manage to get myself out in that Summer kitchen when either Mom or Susie leaves. I calmly hang out there, until my extraordinary hearing tells me someone is walking up to the house.
When I hear that, I sneak over in front of the door, way, way down low. Mom doesn't seem aware of it, but I have pulled the seal away from the bottom of the door so I can peek out and see where they are. As soon as I hear the porch gate squeak, I tense myself and get ready. Sure enough, next the door opens and I am outta there!!!
Mom is pretty good at sensing when I am there and she opens the door and immediately shuts it, after yelling at me to stay. Yeah, Mom, that may work for those obedient, foolish dogs, but I ARE A CAT!!!! If she is carrying something, I have some time to sneak out before the automatic door closer works, hehehe!
Susie is a cinch... she NEVER expects me to be lying in wait and just opens the door and waltzes in. I waltz out, MOL!!
Unfortunately, once I am out I am not able to enjoy my freedom. Take last night, for example. I snuck out when Susie came in. She went and got Mom, meanwhile I was headed down the front lawn. Mom came around and looked, so I got even closer to the road. Mom screamed, then she and Susie RAN after me and chased me way away from the road. Mom told Susie to keep me out of the road and wait, she had an idea.
Well, she comes back with MY Harvey. They didn't even look at me, she and Susie and MY Harvey walked over to the apple tree and Susie and Mom were just eating apples. I couldn't stand it, I HAD TO come see my Harvey so I came over and just as I was sniffing him, Mom grabbed me and tossed away her apple core. HRUMPH... I wasn't expecting THAT!!!
So, I tried it again this morning with Mom... unbeknownst to her, I had gone out to the Summer kitchen when Susie left for work this morning. When Mom came home from work she wasn't expecting me so she just opened the door and marched in as I marched out, hehehe!
Mom didn't even miss a step, she just went in and got MY Harvey. When they came back I was "hiding" under the lilac bushes. She walked MY Harvey right up to me, then turned and headed the other way, like the way down to the lab pen, of all things. Now, how was I supposed to know she was gonna grab me and was really faking it all about going down there????
Foiled again!!!

I am invited outdoors!!!

Today Mom came home from work early. The first thing she did was put Lola's harness right on ME! I did not like that one bit...I leaped, I jumped, I rolled, I even tried to bite it off.
Meanwhile, Momsie just sat there, watching me. Finally, I moseyed over to her and she asked me if I wanted to go down to the lab pen. HUH??? I must have misunderstood her, no doubt!!
But, sure enough, she snapped FOUR leashes to my harness to make it nice and long, picked me up, let out my K9 buddies and off we went.
When we got down there she plunked me on the ground and I took off. That did not go well at all...I just got to the bushes and suddenly, I couldn't move foreward at all, in fact, Mom was dragging me BACKWARDS!!! I tried that a few more times and it was obvious that wasn't gonna work.
Soo, I settled down with Harvey and messed around with him and my hole for a while. It was pretty hot down there and Mom finally decided I was warm enough so she picked me up and we headed home.
She put me down in the upper pen where I was able to explore a bit under all the tall weeds in there. No photos of me peeking out from under the weeds cuz Mom had the camera set wrong...silly Mom!!!
Anyway, after I rested up a bit on the rug out in the Summer kitchen, I decided that really wasn't too bad at all!! Mom said she would get a nice, light rope so I could go better without dragging those heavy leashes. I guess if I can't go out free that is better than nothing.
Did I mention...last night I snuck out right between Mom's legs. It was PURRING RAIN and thundering and lightening out there so I rushed right back up to the door and begged her to let me back in. Scary stuff!!!

New trick!!!

I have added a new trick to my repetore. Tonight when Mom got home from work she took off her shoes and socks cuz she was hot and tired. Because those helpful DOGS will chew up her socks if she leaves them out here she tossed them over the baby gate into the bedroom like she always does. Then, she went to feed the dogs.
When she got back in here one of her socks had magically reappeared and was sitting in her chair. Hmmmm. She guessed she probably didn't toss that one and dropped it, instead. Soo, she tossed it over the gate again.
Instantly, I hopped over the gate and picked up the sock and brought it back and laid it on her foot. I am soooo good!!!
Now Mom said she doesn't have to wonder why all those socks kept returning to the living room. She thought she might have been losing her mind, BOL!!!
I guess I shouldn't have given myself away and let her keep thinking her mind was gone, huh???? Maybe she would feed me four or five times a day cuz she forgot she already had. Oh well, too late now!

Uh oh, in trouble!

Last night I was in my favorite place in the Summer kitchen room. That room is exciting cuz there are mouse holes in the floor over in the corner AND there are lots of flies and moths to chase as well.
Anyway, Susie got home from work and when she opened the outside door I zoomed right out!!! She ran out to catch me, but I am black and it was black night out there. She thought she saw me run into the bushes???
Anyway, Mom came out to find me and she was following me but when she got close it turned out to be a STRANGE black cat, not me!!! It looked just like me but has short hair.
Mom got my food dish and put a can of food in it and put it on the porch. When she looked out the window that other cat was eating MY food and I was no where in sight.
Sooo, Mom put the food in the Summer kitchen and left the front door open hoping for me to come in.
She kept looking but I was having fun exploring out there. There are lots of moths and things out there at night, did you know that????
Finally, just as she was getting quite frantic and it was past bedtime, she opened the door to the Summer kitchen and I rushed right into the house, MOL!
Frankly, I was getting a bit nervous out there...ya know with that black and white kitty with the huge, fluffy tail and that big one with the mask on its face that come around and eat the wild cats food, I wasn't sure it was even too safe to be out there at night!!!! I decided it was best to come back inside and sleep on my own bed! Mom was pretty happy about that, MOL!
