Today I am dedicating my diary to MARGO R.K.N.
Hers my friend. Her Mommy is in Chemo Angels.
http://www.catster.com/cats/614924
See her site here. Her Mommy and her are so sweet!
We have lots of friends on chemo Angels who have
been so kind to my Mommie while she has been
undergoing such a terrible experience. She has
gotten so many cards from so many beautiful people,
from states all over!!! And little gifts and kindness galore!
Made my Mommie cry because they are all so nice!
My Ma's friend Merrilee, wrote to Ma six years ago when
she had breast cancer. And they have been friends every
since then. My Mommie just loves Angel Merrilee, and
she is just that...an angel.
If you look, you will see a click on spot for the CHEMO ANGELS.
If you know anyone who has cancer, please check out the
site. Spread the happiness and help someone you love.

UPDATE ON THE OLD GAL

Mommie told me I should let everyone know what is
going on with her cancer. She said that there are so many
peoples who have been praying for her and they deserve
to know. So, it is my duty to tell you. Mawsie thought she
should be the one to tell, 'cuz she's the oldest. That doesn't
mean she's the smartest....ha ha....so there, Mawsie.
Mommie finally got all the results yesterday. Now, some
might think this is bad news, but, Mommie is quite happy
with the results!
THE NODES WERE PERFECT!!!! YIPPEE, SKIPPEE!!!
But, yes, there is a bit more cancer and she will need another
surgery, but,she says that is okay. It was only on one side
and all the rest was fine.
She was so happy to hear that, so I was gonna have a party
and share my catnip. I figured a double shot of catnip was
purr-fect! But, ya know what?
She declined. (Yup...she's gettin' OLD.) There was a day
when having a shot or two of catnip sounded like a good idea.
So, what I did, was, have my own double shot and then, I had
hers, too. Yup, I did. I managed to hit about 90 going across
the carpet and then, ended up in a heap in the closet.
That was yesterday. Today, I am still parked in the closet
with the biggest cat hangover in the world. I hear Mawsie
wondering by once in awhile, snickering and laughing in that
nasty cat way she has. I hate that cat.
I hate catnip too!

MOMMIE WRITES

I am astounded at the kindness of people on Catster.
Having had my surgery on Monday, I am having the blues.
Feeling quite sorry for myself as I just found out yesterday
that the cancer was not all gone and so I will need more surgery
and who know what else? I still haven't gotten the news on
the nodes. At this point, I don't think I can handle any more
bad news.
But....my twin Little One and Baby G and their beautiful
Mommy, Donna, sent me a package today. How beautiful
is that? I am astounded at their kindness and their beauty.
I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart...it's there
under all those terrible scars.
I love you, my dear friends.
Mommie....Cherri

Mommie isn't doing much right now on Catster.
But, she wants me to tell LITTLE ONE AND KARMA KITTY'S
FAMILY ....THANK MEW!!!
Tomorrow, Mommie will have the cancer taken out.
I pray to KITTY HEAVEN that she will be okay. She is a
special Mommie. She saved me and Mawsie and gave us
a beautiful life. I know she loves us.
Mawsie is going to do her thing, just as she did before
when Mommie had breast cancer. Daddy will be her caretaker. Myself, I will just be funny and silly and try to make her laugh.
I do good with that. All I gotta do, is roll over on my tummy
and Mommie gets a big smile. Of course, she can't resist it and
has to touch.
And of course, I have to bite her. It's my tummy, after all!
We love our friends and thank them for all their prayers.
Love to you. Blessings to all the people who must go through
this fight. And BIG TIME purr-rayers for them too!

MOMMIE

Mommie is going through some tough times right now.
Some of you know about it, some don't.
We apologize for not doing all the fun questions and answers that
many of our beautiful friends have sent, but, Mommie has been
busy going to the doctor.
We want to share this info, because Mommie feels like if she
can help save some lives, then, at least she has done some
good.
Here is the letter she sent to her friends:

Well, once again through the miracles of cancer, I learned a new word. Sarcoma. Sarcoma is soft tissue cancer. I just found out I have it. I am mainly writing to let you all know of a sympton that many don't know about.
About six months ago, I found a bruise on my left breast...the same one I had BC on. I didn't do anything to damage it, and the bruise did not go away. I finally went to the doctor and they decided to take a pic and then I would go back in a month. In a month, it had begun to disappear. Then, it came back with a vengeance. So back to the doctor I went. He said, immediately, we need to do a biopsy. It hurt! His sweet nurse held my hand and I think I about broke it for her!! I apologized and she said that was what she was there for. How sweet.
Anyway, it came back after a second opinion to be sarcoma.
They did a CAT scan and our greatest blessing is that it has not spread.
But, now I am scheduled for a double mastectomy on June 30th.
I am scared witless. The cause of this cancer was from the radiation
given to me when I had breast cancer.
Please be aware that bruises can be a sign of cancer, too. If you have anything at all that you know is not right, GO TO THE DOCTOR.
Don't wait.
Please send this on to as many people as you can. Let's help save some lives.

TAPS

WE HAVE PUT THIS ON BEFORE, BUT, FOR THOSE WHO MISSED IT, HERE IT IS AGAIN:

TAPS

Have you ever been to a military funeral in which taps was played;
this brings out a new meaning of it.
Here is something Every American should know. Until I read this, I
didn't know, but I checked it out and it's true:
We in the United States have all heard the haunting song, "Taps". It's
the song that gives us that lump in our throats and usually tears in our
eyes.
But, do you know the story behind the song? If not, I think you will be
interested to find out about its humble beginnings.
Reportedly , it all began in 1862 during the Civil War, when Union Army
Captain Robert Ellicombe was with his men near Harrison's Landing in
Virginia . The Confederate Army was on the other side of the narrow
strip of land. During the night, Captain Ellicombe heard the moans of a
soldier who lay severely wounded on the field. Not knowing if it was a Union or
Confederate soldier, the Captain decided to risk his life and bring the
stricken man back for medical attention. Crawling on his stomach
through the gunfire, the Captain reached the stricken soldier and began pulling
him toward his encampment. When the Captain finally reached his own lines,
he discovered it was actually a Confederate soldier, but the soldier was
dead.
The Captain lit a lantern and suddenly caught his breath and went numb
with shock. In the dim light, he saw the face of the soldier. It was his
own son. The boy had been studying music in the South when the war broke
out. Without telling his father, the boy enlisted in the Confederate Army.
The following morning, heart-broken, the father asked permission of his
superiors to give his son a full military burial, despite his enemy
status. His request was only partially granted.
The Captain had asked if he could have a group of Army band members play
a funeral dirge for his son at the funeral. The request was turned down
since the soldier was a Confederate. But, out of respect for the father, they
did say they could give him only one musician. The Captain chose a bugler.
He asked the bugler to play a series of musical notes he had found on a
piece of paper in the pocket of the dead youth's uniform.
This wish was granted.
The haunting melody, we now know as "Taps". Used at military funerals was
born. The words are:
Day is done.
Gone the sun.
From the lakes
From the hills.
From the sky.
All is well.
Safely rest.
God is nigh.

Fading light.
Dims the sight.
And a star.
Gems the sky.
Gleaming bright.
From afar.
Drawing nigh.
Falls the night.

Thanks and praise.
For our days.
Neath the sun
Neath the stars.
Neath the sky.
As we go.
This we know.
God is nigh.

I too have felt the chills while listening to "Taps" but I have never
seen all the words to the song until now. I didn't even know there was more
than one verse. I also never knew the story behind the song and I
didn't know if you had either so I thought I'd pass it along.
I now have an even deeper respect for the song than I did before.
Remember Those Lost and Harmed While Serving Their Country.
Also Remember Those Who Have Served and Returned; and for those
presently serving in the Armed Forces.
Please send this on after a short prayer.
Make this a Prayer wheel for our soldiers...please don't break it.
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest
to God...

MOMENT OF SILENCE

This was in Dear Abby today and we wanted to share it.

MOMENT OF SILENCE HONORS THOSE WHO SACRIFICED FOR US

DEAR ABBY: Would you please invite all Americans to stand together, unified in spirit, for 60 seconds of respectful silence during the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m. local time this Memorial Day?
The purpose of this moment is a noble one, to honor America's fallen. The freedoms we take for granted each day are reminders of their ultimate sacrifice and our ongoing debt to them. We mourn our fallen and honor their courageous legacy and the future they bequeathed to us.

The agony of a fallen soldier's mother is as old as war. One such mother is Sallie Stubenhofer. Her son, Mark, was killed by a sniper in Iraq. He left three young children, including a daughter who was born four months after his return to active duty. Mark and his wife named their baby Hope, which signified what he wanted to offer his children and all children.

The Moment of Remembrance and our year-long, lifelong determination to "live honoring America's fallen" are in memory of Army Capt. Mark Stubenhofer and all those brave members of our military who have died in the service of our nation. We invite all Americans to pause in their Memorial Day activities at 3:00 local time to honor those who live in our history, reside in our hearts and rest forever in the arms of God.

My Mommie's uncle Charles Petty died in the Philippines during WWII. His Mother, Rose Petty, tried so very hard to get his body shipped home. They wouldn't send him home, so his body lies in a mass grave. It broke her heart that her youngest son was not buried near her. We honor him.
We honor and love all our sevice people. Each and every one is a hero.

MOTHER'S DAY

Since Ma & Pa were gone most of the weekend, we didn't
get to celebrate the holiday with our Mommie. That didn't make
Mawsie and I too happy. They had to go out of town and were
gone Friday till Sunday. They put Mawsie in the extra bedroom and
I got the rest of the house. The reason they do that is that Mawse
pretty much stays in one place like the slug she is and I like to walk
and walk and walk....I am busy, Mawse is lazy.
It just wasn't the kind of day I wanted for Mommie.
When they got home, they opened the door and let Mawse out of
the bedroom. She came running out, really fast!
Well, Ma found out why in one big hurry! Mawsie had left Mommie
tootsie rolls for Mother's Day! Mommie was NOT too happy about
that...not happy at all!
She is a nasty, mean cat. Mommie should find a new home for her.
Boy, would I like that...A LOT!
Okay, so I know that's not going to happen. But, I can dream, can't I?

GET READY TO LAUGH

Ma got this yesterday and thought that you might
need a good laugh. Mommie is still laughing!

IF THIS STORY DOESN'T MAKE YOU CRY FOR LAUGHING SO HARD, LET ME KNOW AND I'LL PRAY FOR YOU.
THIS IS A STORY ABOUT A COUPLE WHO HAD BEEN HAPPILY MARRIED FOR YEARS.

THE ONLY FRICTION IN THEIR MARRIAGE WAS THE HUSBAND'S HABIT OF F*RTING LOUDLY EVERY MORNING WHEN HE AWOKE. THE NOISE WOULD WAKE HIS WIFE AND

THE SMELL WOULD MAKE HER EYES WATER AND MAKE HER GASP FOR AIR.

EVERY MORNING SHE WOULD PLEAD WITH HIM TO STOP RIPPING THEM OFF BECAUSE IT WAS MAKING HER SICK. HE TOLD HER HE COULDN'T.STOP IT AND THAT IT WAS PERFECTLY NATURAL. SHE TOLD HIM TO SEE A DOCTOR, SHE WAS CONCERNED THAT ONE DAY HE WOULD BLOW HIS GUTS OUT.

THE YEARS WENT BY AND HE CONTINUED TO RIP THEM OUT. THEN ONE
THANKSGIVING MORNING AS SHE WAS PREPARING THE TURKEY FOR DINNER AND HE WAS UPSTAIRS SOUND ASLEEP, SHE LOOKED AT THE INNARDS AND NECK, GIZZARD, LIVER AND ALL THE SPARE PAR TS AND A MALICIOUS THOUGHT CAME TO HER.

SHE TOOK THE BOWL AND WENT UPSTAIRS WHERE HER HUSBAND WAS SOUND ASLEEP AND, GENTLY PULLING THE BED COVERS BACK, SHE PULLED BACK THE ELASTIC WAISTBAND OF HIS UNDERPANTS AND EMPTIED THE BOWL OF TURKEY GUTS INTO HIS SHORTS

SOME TIME LATER SHE HEARD HER HUSBAND WAKE WITH HIS USUAL TRUMPETING WHICH WAS FOLLOWED BY A BLOOD CURDLING SCREAM AND THE SOUND OF FRANTIC FOOT STEPS AS HE RAN INTO THE BATH ROOM. THE WIFE COULD HARDLY CONTROL HERSELF AS SHE ROLLED ON THE FLOOR LAUGHING, TEARS IN HER EYES! AFTER YEARS OF TORTURE SHE RECKONED SHE HAD GOT HIM BACK PRETTY GOOD..

ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES LATER, HER HUSBAND CAME DOWNSTAIRS IN HIS BLOODSTAINED UNDERPANTS WITH A LOOK OF HORROR ON HIS FACE. SHE BIT HER LIP AS SHE ASKED HIM WHAT WAS THE MATTER.

HE SAID, "HONEY YOU WERE RIGHT. ALL THESE YEARS YOU HAVE WARNED ME AND I DIDN'T LISTEN TO YOU".

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?" ASKED HIS WIFE.

"WELL, YOU ALWAYS TOLD ME THAT ONE DAY I WOULD END UP F*RTING MY GUTS OUT, AND TODAY IT FINALLY HAPPENED."

"BUT BY THE GRACE OF GOD, SOME VASELINE AND TWO FINGERS, I THINK I GOT MOST OF THEM BACK IN!"

HELPFUL CAT

I am such a good girl. I am trying to take good care of
my Mommie while she's not feeling too good. So, promptly,
at 5:30 AM I forced myself to crawl across the bed, stomp
across the blankets, and climb up on top of her ribs, with my
dainty 10 pound body, to give her a nice massage....rub-a-dub-dub.
I wonder why she threw me off the bed?
