Today Girl Human took Sweeny outside to see the snow. That is his first snow that he ever touched and smelled. Girl Human held him and let him put his front feet in the cold soft stuff. He smelled it but it had no smell at all. Sweeny looked at Girl Human and wondered why Humans get so excited about it.
Today Scarlet has seen the Vet and it to return Christmas Eve morning. When he called this morning Scarlet was chipper and walking around, purring and hungry. What a difference from last night. The antibiotics must be helping her a lot. Her Vet said he would drive out and drop off medicine any time Girl Human may need it. All those nice kitties and Human who have prayed for her, seem to have helped. Thank You once again. All we can do is take one day at a time. Today was good and Girl Human was so much happier.
Girl Human let Scarlet sit with her while she wrapped Christmas gifts. Scar;et enjoyed it. She washed herself while she watched Annie eat a ribbon. Yes Annie gave it back to Male Human in about 3 places. She wrapped his gifts and he didn't like it. He threw them away. Annie was O.K. with it as she had lots more gifts to check out, under the tree. Tonight will be fun. The 4 a.m. crazies should be interesting. Hope the tree makes it until Christmas.
We are all tired here from shoveling snow. Girl Human saw her Guardian Angel today and told him she had told the story on Catster to all. She told him he was now known worldwide. He gave that wide smile and flung back his head and laughed so very hard. He said he had been busy helping people dig out. He spoke for a little bit about how some people are not as nice as others when it snows. He must know something we don't about these people. Maybe he is Santa Claws???? Or is he a real Angel????

We dug and dug today. We did get the truck moved and chains put on it. We are waiting for the Vet to call. Male Human and I will get her to the Vet early.
She has not eaten much today, we let her walk around a little and let her sit on the chair in the dinning room. She liked that.
We would like to thank everyone for all the support and kind notes and prayers. We will let you know what we find out tomorrow.

All we can see is White, White, White, we need sun glasses. 30" of snow is well over our heads. We can't even jump up on something high to look over the top of it. Everything is covered with this cold stuff. Male Human let all out who wanted to come out. All Sieben did was cry so he put him back in his house.
We were very lucky here. We did not get the wind they were saying we were going to have. So we did not loose our lights.

Yes winter is here. It's not even winter yet. A pot of Chili is cooking in the crock pot.
The snow has caused a major problem. It is 1:15 and Male Human is shoveling snow. He has broken way to the cats. We have two cats that would not go in. Bella and Lucy are out there some where. We saw them last night. We think they are under the Greenhouse. We saw foot prints going that way, last night.
The visitor, Jeb is here too. He is in one of the outside shelters that is heated. He can't get out. Male Human managed to get the front door open. He got to the snow blower and is making paths. He is digging out the shelter out now.
Girl Human got trapped is a real bad traffic jam last night. A 20 minute trip took 2 hours. The roads were so bad that 15 miles and hour was as fast as anyone could go.
Girl Human was very lucky and was behind the chemical truck for the first hour. Then he left and the last 8 miles was the worst. When she got to the hill a mile from home and that was as far as she could go. The car slide backwards down the hill and was sliding freely to a drop off. All she could do was let the car do as it wanted. A car behind her saw what was happening and backed up to give her lots of room.
An angel was there for her. He came walking up slowly to her car smiling. "Your car sure is cute, but it doesn't like this slippery road" he laughed. He guided her, while she back the car to a safe place to parked it. She loaded all she could into his car and she took a very big chance.
He drove her home. His name was Bob. She didn't know him personally. She had waved to him for several years, as she had passed his house on her way to work. He offered to bring his tractor up and plow the Junction's drive on Saturday, if she wanted. He had met Male Human at the store one day last summer. He had introduced himself,. With a quick decision, Girl Human felt she would be safe.
Male Human was very worried and so was Girl Human's mother. Girl Human had gone to her mother's to take her to the store for food. It was good she did as today there is not a road that is clear for miles. Even the interstates are empty. There are a few nuts out.
All the businesses are hurting, they have lost a big weekend. Our area depends on good roads. Most of the shoppers come from very long distances to shop. All the big box stores are closed, with no hope of opening Sunday.
We are going to have winds and drifting tonight. I don't think the Humans will be going to work Monday.
Scarlet is not doing well at all. When Girl Human got home, Scarlet had a very runny nose and some blood in her tears. Girl Human has been using everything she can to help her get through this. We can't get her to a Vet. There is no vets open. Both Girl Humans cars are out of service. The Junction's old snow car the Volvo is still broken down. It is going to cost $3500 to fix all that is wrong with it. Girl Human wanted that car yesterday, SO BAD.
Girl Human left a message on the Dr. machine to call when he gets to his office. She always seems to have a problem develop when the Dr. is not available. We feel Scarlet is not going to make it until Spring. She has to much going wrong. She is staying in the master bathroom with her teddy bear and a large heater. She let her self out once. Girl Human had to place something in front of the door. She knows how to open the door. She has done it before.
We are suppose to lose power tonight when the winds start. We have a generator, that keeps everyone warm as long as the gas last. We have 3 days worth of gas. No Global Warming Here.
So that is today's adventures at the Junction. We don't know if we will have a Christmas as they are calling for cold weather all week and more snow Christmas Eve. We are not use to this type of weather in our area.
Hope your Week before Christmas is a lot better then ours. One bright thing is that we have all our Christmas gifts and now we have a lot of time to wrap them.
Yes it is still snowing.

We have all been sitting in our warm houses the last week. We have had Fog, Ice, Sun, Cold, Very Cold and Snow. We have posted snow pictures on our pages to share with all our Catster Friends.
The Wollie Worm's coats colors indicated that we are going to have a bad beginning. The rest of our Winter it will be Smooth Sailing. Girl Human always believes the Worm. She said for years and years the Worm has always been right. She got Male Human to believe too. We at the Junction are all believing it also.
Scarlet is not gaining ground. She is more active, but getting thinner. Her test were not good, that was expected. The Dr. calls every morning to get a report. Between the Dr. and Girl Human they are coming up with new ideas. Getting the medicine to work better for her is the subject here every day. We just go day by day and keep our paws crossed. We have gotten past the 8 days without an upset stomach.
Her eye is still closed and she has started antibiotics for that. She needs her tape worm treatment but we are afraid to try that at this point.
She did get up on the bed at 7A.M. and ask for breakfast today. That is a great improvement. We have had some nice notes, gifts and kind words and we that everyone.
A special Thanks to our Friend Paine in Australia for the big beautiful Christmas Tree and also to Molly Dutchess Marie at Rainbow Bridge for the big Paws Up.
I hope all of you are being good for Santa Paws. Peaches chewed on the Christmas tree and Pooh knocked and ornament off the tree when he jumped over Peaches when jumping off the window sill. But we are all good.
We got a gift from Uncle Steve today. It is a big covered basket. We all have sniffed and sniffed and don't know what it is. It has a big pretty bow on it. The Big Brown UPS truck brought it while Girl Human was Christmas shopping. We will get a better look at it at 4 A.M.. This is the first gift under our tree. It's got to be food, Uncle Steve always gives fancy foods that we can't have much of.
Have you gotten anything under your tree yet????? Have you given Santa Paws your list? Have you been good? What do you want for Christmas?????

Girl Human came home from work the night before last and went into the FORBIDDEN ROOM. While she place a lamp on the floor, I decided to see if I could be of any help. Bang went the door and it was all dark, I was alone. Being the fun cat I am, I decided to explore the forbidden room and see what I have been missing.
I first noticed that it was not as warm as the rest of the house, but now was the time to see what the closed door was all about. There were all kinds of things, some were very shiny and prett. Even in the dark they looked good. I was very careful not to touch anything, just looking.
I could hear Girl Human and she was fussing over that Scarlet. She had been to the Hospital and Girl Human was so busy with her comfort that she didn't miss me.
I decided to try the nice couch and see if I could warm myself under the cover. It was nice and I soon fell asleep. Much later I woke up hungry, it was all quite and I did not hear the Humans. I fell back asleep and knew Girl Human would come and let me out soon.
Girl Human's voice woke me and I waited, but then it was quite. I heard her in the bathroom, so I called out, she didn't hear me, I called again. I heard her close by and she seemed to be in a rush. She was busy talking to that Scarlet and not even missing me.
Then it was all quite and the Car started up, and Girl Human and Scarlet were gone. I tried to look out the window but the heavy wooden blind would not move. I was trapped and upset. She left me cold and alone. I snuggled up on the couch and waited for Girl Human to return.
I heard the front door opened, I heard heavy foot steps, its Male Human. He will hear me, I cried again and he was gone. I heard the TV and he was talking to the other kitties. When is he going to let me out? I have been here for 10 hours>>>> Help. I have never been alone before, not this long, LET ME OUT, I yelled, LET ME OUT.
Girl Human returned and I could here her talking to Male Human and she still had not noticed I was lost. SCARLET< SCARLET>SCARLET, is all I could hear. What about POOR LITTLE ME??????
Male Human went into the room beside the forbidden room. I heard the front door again and Girl Human's car was leaving again. All I could do was cry and cry.
Sophia started to yell, real loud. Sweeny was sniffing at the door, Male Human is close. I yelled again and the door opened and I was free. Food, Water, Potty. What first???? Why was I forgotten? Why did Girl Human not miss me? I'm hurt.
Male Human called Girl Human. He told her she had locked me in the forbidden room. She told him I had been there all night. Yes all night. Male Human hung up the phone grabbed me and hugged me and told me that Girl Human did not mean to lock me in the room. Yes sure, why didn't she miss me? Why was Scarlet so important? I know she loves me, but she left me all alone all night.
Male Human explained that Girl Human was so worried about Scarlet. Scarlet went to the vet the day before and Male Human brought her home that night. The next morning Scarlet had to be rushed back to the vet to have her eye taken care of as it was bleeding.
Poor Scarlet she was acting odd on Tuesday and her blind eye was tearing. She took her to the Vet and he injected antibiotic into her eye. Male Human picked her up from the vet on his way home from work and he got a medicine to put in her eye. Girl Human put it in her eye when she got home at 1 A.M.. Then she checked to make sure there was nothing at Scarlet's eye level, that she may run into. She decided to place the candle lamp in the forbidden room. The rest is History.
Yes Scarlet had to return to vet and have her eye stitched shut. She had a broken blood vessel and blood in her tears. She had scratched it. Poor Scarlet. She feels better now she slept in her brass bed last night and seemed much happier now.
Me I slept under the covers next to Girl Human all night. Girl Human Hugged and kissed me, it was soooo nice. I hope that will never happen again. Now I know why it is the FORBIDDEN ROOM.

Well here it is, that day when all our Humans get up before we get a chance to have the 4 a.m. crazies, What is with that?
Peaches said, that is when they go to meet Santaclaws and get those wonderful Kitty gifts. Well I sure hope Petsmart was the first stop. We already have a big TV, now we need some new perches to sit on so we can all watch Animal Planet up close. We want good seats to watch Sunrise Earth too. We love the birdies. The sound will be super then. The bird will be right in our rec room. I can almost feel the breeze from their wings brushing by me. Come on Santaclaws, How about a SoundBar too.
Amber was the ottoman hog yesterday. I thought, I would get a turn. No, that Sweeny took over, laying there all evening, looking at the fireplace. What a bummer.
Sophia spent her day playing musical Beds. The humans lite the fireplace and put three big kitty beds in front of it. Sophia was the only one who slept in them. All of them. Every hour she was in a different one. All day long. What a crazy sisfurrr.
Male human sat in Peaches rocking chair and watched some guy called James Bond, all day. Girl human sat and watched also. She only went on Catster for a little bit, this Bond person must be important. Then they watched a Movie called Swordfish, I watched and never did see any fish.
I don't know why they watched this Bond guy, he didn't even have a Cat.
All he did was make very loud noises and was always running away from some other Human. Then he would have a cat fight and run some more.
Where was Animal Planet? I heard, most of the day was dog stuff, and a dog show. What about us. We have Thanksgiving too, where's the CATS and the BIRDIES?
Well we did get to eat well. We had a nice can of Turkey and a taste of the Humans Shrimp and Fish feast. They didn't have anyone over so they had a nice fish dinner.
Poor Scarlet had a bad morning and we thought she may not be able to have a taste of Mahi Mahi, Sole or Shrimp. She did get a very tiny taste of each. She was very happy and sat with Girl Human the rest of the night.
The guys outside got to enjoy a nice day, we only got a small shower about 5:30 and most of them had gone into their houses by then to get their Turkey Dinner. Morgan, our snow bunny, and Bella(Portabella) were the only two who refused to have Thanksgiving dinner with the rest of the family.
The Humans are leaving us Sunday. They are going to Daughter Humans house, for dinner. They said they will bring us our Turkey then. We all will have our Real Thanksgiving Sunday.
Right now we are having wind. There is funny white stuff falling out of the sky , called Snow. It is not turning the ground white, which the Humans are happy about.
Well looks like today may be another fire in the fireplace day. Wow this is so great, Humans are home. Girl Human has her briefcase out. Peaches decided to make a bed out of it. Guess Girl Human will have another day off, no work today, thanks to Peaches.
Hope all our Catster Friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving and get to spend lots of time this weekend with their Furkids. Have a good one.

Girl Human misses Suzie Q (1019413) so very much on this day. Three years has gone and it only seems like yesterday since I held her that one last time. We know she has lots of Catster friends on the other side of Rainbow Bridge. She loves to play with the butterflys and toy mice. These were a few of her favorite things that she loved so much..
Thank you one and all for trying to help us find Boots. We did learn that back in July Boots said that a chronic resp. condition was causing problems. I only hope that was not the reason for leaving Catster. I feel that kitties need friends no matter where they are. Their Humans need them too. We are all so happy to have our friends here at Catster. I guess you could say that is our Thanksgiving Thanks.
Scarlet seems to be doing well with the Medication. We ask that everyone will cross our paws and hope that she does better this time.
We wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving. May all you kitties get lots of whip cream on your Pumpkin Pie.
Scarlet can't wait she is already begging. She is sitting on the counter helping Male Human roll out the dough, as Girl Human types this message to all of you.
YUMMMMY this is one of our most favorite time of year. Humans home for the Holidays. FOOOOOOD YUMMMMMY FOOOOOD.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE.

Remember when I was in a panic because I lost contact with Catster and they told me they were going to cut off contact with us at Calico Junction? Well it was some computer glitch and changing my e-mail address to them fixed the problem.
While I was out of contact I lost a very good friend and I need your help to find out what happened to Boots 1009387 from Guttenberg/Millville IA. If this cute tuxedo kitten with blue eyed had left me a message during that time in mid Oct. it was lost. I sure hope that the cute kitten is OK. Does anyone Know? I have a picture on my Guest book on Sweenys page if you want to see those beautiful eyes that were still blue at 6 months of age.
The last thing I heard was on Oct. 11th, that Boots was playing in the fall leaf pile in his yard. I sure hope Boots is OK.
