Cat Cake Recipes: 5 Vet-Approved Homemade Treats

What’s more festive or celebratory than a decadent cake? We can’t imagine a birthday or holiday without one, and sharing these moments with our cats shouldn’t be an exception! For dedicated cat owners, we figured it was time to whip one of these irresistible cat desserts fitting for any feline. These may not be your average cakes, as our cats don’t appreciate sweets quite as much as we do, but rest assured, each of these will be a hit with your cat at every holiday or birthday!

While these cakes are delicious, they are only meant to be offered on special occasions. Some cats are sensitive to wheat, so we recommend substituting rice flour to avoid this problem and reduce the number of carbohydrates. You can add egg white to the recipe to help the cake bind together, which will add to the protein content of the cake, making it even more appealing to your little carnivore!

  1. Thanks so much for the information… Done with store bought cat food (not knocking cat food makers, but I think I need to know EXACTLY what is being put in my cat's dish). Going to the grocery store today to purchase fresh meats to fix. At least I will know exactly what my cat will be actually eating.

    1. Hi BjC, just please keep in mind these recipes are not intended for daily feeding as they are not a complete and balanced diet for a cat. The recipes are only Treats as the title says, they are meant to be given only for special occasions. Similar to how you cannot eat only cake 24/7.
