I don't think people would feed their cats the pit or the skin of an avocado especially if it contains something that is poisonous. But I don't think giving them a couple bites of the meat of the avocado is going to hurt them, as long as it's not a daily part of their diet. And as we've learned over the years that fat doesn't make us fat, it's carbs that make us fat. So I wouldn't think the fat in avocados would be hurtful to cats or humans. In fact they have a lot of beneficial properties that we need as humans. But thanks for letting people know it's just the seed/pit and the skin that is bad for our pets, cats or dogs. And not to give them too often or in large amounts.
