1. Persian

Persian cats are known for their calm and laid-back temperament. Owners may reflect these personality traits back onto their cats. They’re likely to opt to binge-watch a TV show on the couch or read a book by the fireplace than go out and party. Persian owners are okay with spending time alone, but they enjoy the company of others, too.

2. Siamese

Siamese cats are known for their poise and elegance. They’re fantastic communicators who make several vocalizations to talk to their owners. These intelligent cats make great companions but need a lot of affection. Siamese owners don’t care much about keeping peace and quiet in their homes. However, they love interacting with people, including their cats, and are often great communicators themselves.

3. Maine Coon

Maine Coons are larger-than-life cats known for their boldness and independent nature. However, they’re equally as devoted and gentle, forming strong bonds with their family members. Owners tend to be family-oriented folks who are loyal to the people they love. They’re likely always up for an adventure and are always searching for the next fun and interesting thing to do.

4. Abyssinian

Final Thoughts

Our cats are part of our family, so it only makes sense that we would instinctively be drawn to breeds that share our own personality traits. An introvert will get along swimmingly with the quiet and independent Russian Blue, while extroverts may lean towards a Sphynx. Of course, there are always outliers, and you may have adopted a lazy Japanese Bobtail or an energetic Persian. Regardless, there is a lot more harmony in homes where owners and cats share similar personality traits.
