Thankyou to my dear friends for their best wishes and concern after my eye operation and I'm so sorry it's taken so long to give you an update.
I had my stitches out just over a month ago - what a relief, I felt much more comfortable. My vet said mum had to continue with the eye drops twice a day for a month and then go back for a checkup. Mum took me yesterday and Terry, our lovely vet, was very pleased with my eye and said I didn't need the eye drops any more. He said I had a tiny bit of scar tissue in my eye but felt sure this would gradually disperse on its own and I wouldn't need another operation to remove the scar tissue, which he thought I probably would have done earlier.
He was so pleased how well the implant had taken and said he'd never removed a mass so large from a cat's eye before. I now have about 60% vision in one eye but the other eye is fine.
Terry said it was all thanks to my mum for being so observant and persevering with the eye drops for many months or I would definitely have lost my eye, but mum said it was really down to me for being so co-operative and such a good girl for letting her put the drops in. If it had been one of my ex-feral sisfurs she said she wouldn't have stood a chance putting eye drops in them.
Thankyou again to all my friends.
Happy purrs
Snowy

Terry, my vet, called mum last night with the results of my biopsy. It's Good News, I don't have cancer and will keep my eye. The biopsy showed a benign stromal tumour sequestration. (Mum's never heard of it before)!
Mum was 'over the moon' and gave me a big kiss and cuddle. I told her I'd rather have this damn collar off. I have to go into the hospital on Monday to have my stitches out but I'll still have to have my eye drops in for a while.
More Good News - my sisfur Blackie is no longer frightened of my collar and she's started cuddling with me again. I'm so pleased 'cos I was feeling so lonely on my own.
A big thankyou to my friends for all the good wishes and purrs. I know they helped me to feel better.
Love Snowy

Snowy went for her after-op check-up yesterday. Terry was quite pleased with her eye but changed her eye drops to help the healing. The biopsy results will be back on Friday - fingers and paws crossed!!
She has to go back on Monday to have the stitches out.
Blackie is still very wary of her collar - she has started sleeping near her but not cuddled up as usual. Rosie is very curious and constantly stares at her collar as if she's trying to sort out just what it is! MOL.
Thankyou to all our dear furriends for their purrs, lovely comments, pawmails and gifts, both before and after her operation.
Before her op:-
Gunnar T, Miss Muppet, Peekaboo & family for the paw charm.
Queen Tallulah, Zena, Mia, Milo & family for the paw charm.
Dusty Miller & family for the paw charm.
Humphrey, Roger and Greta for the tulips.
After her op:-
Lil' Muppet for the pink cupcake.
Orkney, Arrow, Tara, Zephyr and Bunty for the diamond.
Queen Tallulah, Zena, Mia, Milo & family for the paw charm.
Adam, Eve, Pudd,, Puff, Pumpkin & Little One for the hamburger.
Wanda, Norman & family for the paw charm.
Dusty Miller & family for the paw charm.
I sincerely apologise if I have missed anyone - I will have seen it in my e-mails but some of the gifts aren't showing up on the homepage and mum is finding is more difficult to keep up with them and our friends activities.
Love & grateful purrs from Snowy

Snowy has had runny eyes nearly all her life. Blackie (her litter sister) and her had very bad eye infections when they were kittens and ever since their eyes have never been right. Blackie's is not too bad but Snowy's infection was more severe.
About six weeks ago I noticed that one of Snowy's eyes looked sore and took her to see Terry, our vet. Snowy had a corneal ulcer and was prescribed eye drops. She's been back for weekly check ups since but each time her eye was only marginally better. At her last check-up on Tuesday her eye was slightly worse (despite me putting her drops in twice a day) and Terry decided that she needed an operation or was in danger of losing her eye.
The ulcer has been shaved off her eye and a black mass removed from her cornea. She's had a graft on her cornea to fill the hole and her third eyelid has been sewn over to help healing.
The mass is being sent for a biopsy but Terry is hopeful that it's not cancer and was pleased that the operation had gone well. She has a checkup on Monday and can have the stitches removed in a week.
Poor Snowy - she was very sleepy when she came home and walking backwards to try to get out of her Elizabethan collar and bumping into things. I let Blackie into the room to see her as she'd been looking for her sister all day - they're inseperable! When Blackie saw Snowy she hissed and growled at her and was terrified of her collar and the smell from the vets.
I hope they'll cuddle up tonight again.
I'm praying that it's not cancer and she's soon feeling better.

Just now all our diary entries seem to be about illnesses with my brofurs and sisfurs and Mum wishes she had some funny stories to tell all my furriends.
I didn't tell you about my eye problem, which started on 13th April 'cos I was hoping I'd be better long ago!
I have a very bad corneal ulcer and have been back to the vets every week for check-ups. I hate having eye drops in but mum has persisted and never missed putting my drops in twice a day. Yesterday I went for a check-up again and although the ulcer on my eye is shallower than it was, Terry our vet is concerned that it's taking so long for it to get better and mum has to persist for another week with my meds.
Please purr for me that it starts to get better or I'm afraid I could lose my eye.
Mum was surprised at how fast I can run! I don't even see the eye drops but sense what's coming and charge off at about 90 miles per hour! I might be 14 years old mum but I can run fast when I have to! I won't sit on mum's knee any more and view her as the arch enemy now and if she even walks past me I run away! The only way mum can get my drops in is to corner me, scruff me and kneel down and confine me between her legs and make sure the drops all go into my eye. I don't know how much longer I'm going to have to endure this!!
From Mum:
I feel awful having to do this to Snowy twice a day and only wish she knew that I love her and want her to get better. Snowy and her sisfur Blackie are just devoted to each other and now Blackie has started to avoid me as if she's saying "I don't like you either now and wish you would leave my sisfur alone!"
I never seem to be away from the vets just now - with Queenie, Jack, Lucy and Snowy and Terry even said that it might be a good idea if I moved into a caravan in his car park with all my cats!
This morning Alfie started sneezing (the same virus as Lucy and Jack) so off to the vets were going again!!
......and I thought cats reduced your blood pressure!!! Saying that, I wouldn't like to be without any of my furry children!!

I've been tagged by our good furriend, the handsome Ra, to play the ice-cream game!
I have to say what flavour of ice cream best suits my purrsonality!
Here I go:-
I think I am like a strawberry sundae ice-cream. I'm very sweet and good natured and get on well with all my sisfurs and brofurs, especially my litter mate sisfur Blackie, who I love dearly and we always wash each other and cuddle up together every night.
Im not going to tag anyone 'cos my family have played a few times and tagged some of our furriends, but I'd like to wish all my American furriends A Very Happy 4th July with lots of treats and hope the fireworks aren't too loud!!
