Out of the Closet!

Well, the next time Newman gets stuck in the hall closet, he won't have to worry about seeing dead cats! Tonight Mawmee bought a pretty box like the one she got for Calvin and Sugar.

My container of ashes is in the box, and so are my cat siblings from my former home - Amos and Goldie. My dog brother, Rocky, is also in the box, and so is Stanley's collar - he is my other dog brother. Stanley's container of ashes got buried with my former Mommy when she went to the bridge.

So, now I'm on the desk in the living room - it sure feels better than being in the closet!

Another Birthday at the Bridge

Wowza, I can't believe another year has gone by up here at the bridge. It has been fun having Calvin around this week. I couldn't wait until he saw the Alley Cat Bowling sign. I found out about the bowling alley last year on my birthday.

He kept asking me where I was going on Friday nights, but I couldn't tell him. Now we can be bowling buddies!

I sure miss my family, but they have lots of pictures of me around so that I'll never be forgotten. I'm also happy that when I watch over Sugar, I've noticed that she is getting a lot more lap time with Daddy since I left. I sort of hogged Daddy's lap, and now she does the same thing!

Thanks to my friends for remembering me on this special day. Please save your rosettes, and just leave me a comment on my diary - that would mean a lot to me!

I've gotta go - it's time for some angel dust sprinkling, and Gleek is getting my bucket of dust today!

Birthday at the Bridge

Today I'll be celebrating my first birthday since coming to the bridge. I was lucky to live until I was 13 - a teenager! So, today I will be 14, but at the bridge we don't get older!

I had asked my friends not to give me rosettes, but instead send one to a new kitty. My pals, Edgar and Emily Felicity gave out five rosettes to new kitties - how pawsome - thank you! They even sent me the links to those cats' pages, so I could ask them to be friends.

If you have time today, maybe you can welcome these kitties by asking them to be friends too!

Carabou - she sort of looks like me when I was a kitten!

Koyshi - a shy boy, but very handsome!

Charlie Girl - a boy with a girl's name, like Violet!

Bongo - wowza - he is 18, like Calvin!

Angel - one look at her and you'll know why she is called Angel!

Congratulations to Calvin on being a diary pick today. Being 18 is gonna work for him!

Angel of the Week!

Wowza, I'm so honored to be the Rainbow Bridge Angel Babies Angel of the Week!

I think I got my pretty new wings just in time! When you're Angel of the Week, they start a forum thread in the group, and other cats and dogs ask you questions to get to know you better. They've asked me everything from what kind of treats I liked, to why I walked bowlegged! I'm also the background picture on the group page - how pawsome!

Tomorrow I'll be celebrating my first birthday up here at the bridge. I would like to request that my friends save their rosettes. You all have been so generous in giving them to Sugar, Rocky, and Calvin last week.

If you were planning to give me one, how about giving one instead to a new cat joining Catster. That would make me feel really good, and you would be doing a good thing to say welcome to a new cat!

I'll have plenty of love surrounding me tomorrow on my birthday, and I know Mawmee and Daddy will be thinking about me too.

Wings to Fly!

A very special angel doggie named Daisy has been very kind to us this week.

She went to the wing closet and found beautiful animated wings for Autumn, Rocky, and me!

Of course, you can imagine the tears that Mawmee shed when she saw each pair of wings. They are all so pretty, and it makes her feel good inside even if she is crying!

I was sad to see Rocky at the bridge, but I'm glad he is here to keep me company.

Thank you, Daisy, for honoring us with our beautiful wings . . . . . . .

It's called the Rainbow Bridge Badge and you can include it on your page by going to My Account/Manage Badges.

Ode to Joy!

My pal, Tyler - Mr. Boombastic wrote a special holiday poem for the Olde Furts.

I didn't think he would mind if I re-printed the section of the poem that was about me!

All I want for Christmas is to see Spunkadelic,
As you know he recently became all angelic,
He’s another one-eyed wonder kinda like me,
And he lived his life with bravery for all to see.

Tyler and I made a complete pair of eyes - he is missing the eye I had, and I was missing the eye he has - that's a little one-eyed humor!

Thanks, Tyler, for including me in the holiday festivities! Merry Christmas from the bridge to all my friends . . . . . . . . .

Bridge Twin

Guess what, friends?

I have a Bridge Twin!

I sure had a lot of wonderful angel friends greet me at the bridge yesterday, but when I was checking out the rainbow, I found out that Buddie was celebrating his 1 year journey to the bridge. He told me we were Bridge Twins, and that made me feel better to have a special angel friend who shared the same day with me and my family.

Mawmee said she was doing pretty good yesterday until she got on the computer and read all the wonderful messages that my friends sent. Then she turned into a big puddle of tears.

I also saw that Sugar was able to get some lap time last night. I'm glad someone has taken my place in helping Mawmee heal by keeping her lap warm.

I won't be around much for awhile. I need to get used to being at the bridge, but I wanted to take a minute to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the outpouring of love.

I never knew I could have so many friends, and I'm glad that everything happened the way it did so that I could be a Catster cat, and now an angel with a Bridge Twin!

Like Wally said, I'm starting my 10th life, and I know it is going to be a great one . . . . . . . . .

An Angel - Loved Forever

Spunky made his journey to the bridge this morning. I spent the night with him laying by my side. His Daddy was with him when they helped him cross to the bridge.

He was such a brave boy through this cancer ordeal and did so well with the first round of chemo. I'm just sorry that we couldn't cure the cancer.

We were fortunate to have him for over a year. Losing him is like losing part of my parents all over again. I will miss his spunky spirit and him sitting on my lap. I know Sugar and Rocky will miss him too.

After he lost sight in his eye yesterday, he became disoriented which is understandable. I don't think he was in much pain from the tumor but probably discomfort from the pressure it was placing on his face.

We made the decision to send him to the bridge before he got worse. And it would have gotten much worse. I couldn't bear to see him go through seizures or have the tumor split open his face. I know he was ready because he was a talker, and he didn't talk at all since yesterday.

Thank you to the wonderful outpouring of love for Spunky from all his friends. The Catster community is so supportive, and it means a great deal to me.

Don't cry for Spunky today. He is no longer suffering with cancer, and he will be with the family that has already gone before him.

We love you, Spunkadunk, and we'll never forget you. Rest in peace, my sweet boy.
