Sparkman Gets White Tissue Paper To Hangout On!

I was kinda moping all morning. I didn't want to play fetch. I didn't want to follow Mom around and purr at her. I didn't want to play with my brothers... All I wanted to do was lounge on the kitchen radiator and pout. I perked up briefly for potatoes, so Mom knew I wasn't sick at least... But I was really feeling down.

Mom finally figured out why and fixed it, though! You see, I've been ignoring my waxed paper lately in favor of a piece of blue tissue paper in the sun room! It's warm, crinkly, and mine! But last night someone barfed near it and Captain Morgan dragged it over the barf to hide it. That means when Mom cleaned it up, she made the whole area smell like cleaning spray and ripped off part of my blue paper. So it smelled funny and was smaller. Not cool, Mom.

So she made up for it this morning! She found me two new pieces of white tissue paper and covered them with catnip! Wowsies! I'm rolling and purring and all ready for fetch time now, Mom! Yayyy! WHITE tissue paper time! This is awesome!

Sparkman Likes Having Visitors...

I have more humans at my house to worship and adore me! They came from all over Wisconsin, just to see beautiful tiny me... There's my Auntie and my Grandhumanmom! Grandhumanmom talks to me on the phone usually, so when I hear her talking, I run over to the phone to listen. But she's here now, so that gets confusing and sometimes I get a little scared of the phone voice coming out of a human, but she's a good human. She gives me lots of ear pets and talks about how amazingly wonderful I am. Clearly, that's the whole reason these human have come to visit. So I'm laying on the heated sunroom floor, right in the middle of them and posing in my cutest sleepy time poses just for their enjoyment. And every now and then I grump at them to look over and watch me. It's great having more humans around! I clearly don't get enough attention with just Mom and Dad around. More pets! More hugs! More kisses! More potatoes, pleaseeeee!

PurrC is Rampaging!

Wow PurrC is crazy today! Mom said he was attacking her ankles while she was vacuuming. And he chased me around after he found me sitting on my favorite waxed paper from Hawaii... Then he sat behind Mom on the computer chair, nipping at her sweater and belt loops. Eventually she gave him the chair, figuring she must not have known that was PurrC's chair. Now he's rampaging the first floor, being a carpet troll, and attack licking everybody that comes by. So far Moose has gotten the worst of it. Moose was so hyped up, he ran over to Mom and when she reached to pet his head in greeting, he bit her fingers and purred!... Watch out everykitty! My fuzzy brother has gone INSANE! And I think it's contagious!

I'll be hiding in the library till he gets all this craziness out of his system. Captain Morgan's on the cat walk, where fluffy-butt-dude can't hop. Moose is still running in circles (possibly after his own tail at this point)... And PurrC is still lurking about! Watch out for your ankles, Mom! Ohhhh, too late!

New Litterbox!

New litterbox! New litterbox! I'm on high alert monitoring the developing situation here at my house. It seems the humans want to clean another litterbox! They've added a non-clumping, uncovered, blue box in the corner of the sun room. Strangely it's right where PurrC likes to be naughty and poo outside the box... Where's he going to go now?!

You will all be pleased to know I was the first to use it. Then I went over to the other one in the room and used it too. Captain waited till I was out of the box and tackled me... What?! It's my job to be first in those things!

New litterbox! Oh boy oh boy!!!

Sparkman Still Loves His Paper.

In case anyone (Mom) is still keeping track; I am still spending a big portion of the day sitting on my waxed paper scrap from Hawaii. Someone else (I suspect the PurrC!) ripped a small hole in it. But otherwise, it's doing pretty good.

Mom tried to give me a padded mailing envelope to see if I'd prefer that to sit on, but I just gave her a lofty "Are you kidding?!" look and tucked my loaf of bread paws in more... Now however, I'm using it as a pillow while I nap on my paper.

It's a good thing I'm so tiny, or I'd never fit on this 8 by 10 inch piece of paper!

Sparkman's Very Full Day!

WHOA! I'm a Daily DIary Pic again! Yayyy! Mom says I can have more potato treats tomorrow, that I've reached my limit for the day... I have a limit?! Oh, I guess so. It's called barfy time when I eat too much.

I've had a full day today. To start with, I actually played fetch with Mom. She says it's been months since I actually played fetch and didn't just run around after her throwing and retrieving my fetch mouse toy... There Mom goes, telling LIES! I'm a great fetch player! Clearly I play for hours every day. How else would I maintain this unique physique?!

Then I went outside (at Captain Morgan's request). And let me tell you all, that white stuff is still snow. It's still cold and wet on my paws. And I still think I don't like it much. And I told Mom so. I stood on the back step next to a bank of snow deeper than I am tall and talked and talked and talked and talked at her. Eventually she stopped giggling and carried me back to the house to warm my feet up... Jeesh! Captain stayed out a half hour. He's one crazy pirate dude.

Then I helped Mom unpack a box from Hawaii and she gave me a piece of waxed paper from a cup! I immediately started sitting on it and defending it from Moose the paper shredder and PurrC the paper licker. They're not getting my prize piece of paper! It's MINE! It smells like salty sand. Purrrrrr!

Then Mom made dinner and I heard the carrot peeler going. And in case you haven't heard, I'm a vegetable addict. I LOVE potatoes and broccoli and green beans and spinach and zucchini... And this time of year I beg for any veggie being served up. But raw, I really only want them raw... So carrot peeler is like a Sparkman Dinner Bell. I ran in there and Mom had something that looked like a potato, but longer and skinnier. She reached down and offered me a piece of skin. YUM! Then she was grating it like it was cheese. I was all about that! Hopping around below her and yelling for more, more, MORE! PurrC came over to see what the excitement was about. He tried some too and purred about it. It's called sweet potato. And it's the new yummiest thing!

Sparkman Smells Like a Coconut!

I had a diary pic!!! Thank you friends for letting me know! Mom was out of town and missed it. But she says I get even MORE potato treats when that happens, cause she feels guilty... She should! I mean, I'm the center of all attention! How dare she forget!?!

Mom was gone just long enough for us to get a good thick layer of cat fur on every surface of the house. And we were really feeling proud of the cat bachelor pad oder we were all acquiring. (We had an awesome pet sitter, in case she's reading this. It's not her fault we're little boy cats! I mean, I blame PurrC for the worst smells. That dude stinks!)... Then the first thing Mom did today was clean the whole house & wipe us down with a dryer sheet (to get us less static-y). And threatened to dump PurrC in a tub, but he got away... And now I smell like coconut hand lotion. I think Mom petted me too soon after putting that stuff on herself.

I'd complain more, but the truth is that I'm just thrilled to have Mom back, even if I smell like a coconut! I woke her up twice last night, just loudly purring to have her back on her half of our pillow... Missed you, Mom! Never ever go on a vacation away again, please.

Sparkman Complains About Being a Hand Warmer...

I love it when Mom wakes me up for snuggles, I really do. But now that's it's cold outside, she has this annoying habit of waking me up and rubbing her cold nose and icy fingers all over my warm, sleepy fur. I always wake up with an "Awww, Mom!" and then progress to a "Whimper! Maaaaawwwwww!" And if she persists in using me as a warmer, "Groan! MAWWWW!" By then she usually gives up and goes to bugging any of my brothers. Moose runs away, Purrseus bites her (on the face even!), but Captain Morgan just snuggles tighter into a ball and ignores her. Maybe I should try that one... But when she's not a human icicle, it's sure awesome having Mom around to wake me up for ear kisses and neck scratches! Purrrrrrs...

Green Bow Tie & a DDP!

Whoa! I somehow missed being a Daily Diary Pic! But as I always tell Mom, my angel pal Buddie and his family always help me celebrate with a happy, cheering, loving poetry message that makes me feel like it's my special day whenever I read it! He tells me to put my paws in the air and do a happy dance! So that's what I 'm doing! Purrs & joy, everykitty!

I've been helping Mom sew a green dress. Whenever she's cutting out fabric, I like sitting right there to purr/cheer her on. And in return, she decorates me. If there are any long ribbon like pieces, she wraps them around my neck in a bow... So I have a green bow tie! And when she took it off me for the night, I whimpered. She said she was sorry, but that I can't be trusted with it overnight. She put it in her bathrobe pocket, and we went to bed.

The next morning, she found me on the radiator mesa and gave me a wonderful present; my green bow tie! I woke up to her kissing my forehead and slipping my bow tie back on! I was so happy I immediately started purring and sniffing it and posing with my handsome bow tie. I wore it around all day, much to the envy of my brothers. PurrC tried to wrestle it off my neck, twirled around on the floor biting it and clawing at my pretty bow tie... But it survived and I fought him off!

That night was the same story; I whimpered, Mom put it in her pocket, and she woke me up the next morning with it! So I'm on day three of wearing a lovely green bow tie. Oh so wonderful! Purrs and purrs!

I might just be the luckiest Sparkman in existence. My Grandhumanmom Santa helpers sent me a whole box of feather toys that elves made from their pet duck feathers. They were tied together with short pieces of digestible cotton threads, but PurrC and I have been merrily ripping them up and carrying the feathers all over the house... Then a few mornings back, I wasn't feeling all that into playing fetch with Mom (the radiator was warm! I wasn't about to leave that!) so she kept throwing around my fetch mouse and trying to get my attention. I'd look over when I heard her say my name, then sleepily go back to chillaxing... Then at one point I looked up and fetch mouse had grown a great big feather tail! When she threw him that time, the feather spun around with fetch mouse and I had to run after that!

A few more days went by and even feather tail mouse was getting dull. But I followed Momup to the bathroom and flopped on the carpet. Then under the corner edge, I saw that feather peaking out! I pounced and attacked and started doing wild summersaults through the air. There were bunny kicks and boxing paws... I thought sure the carpet would be in shreads, but I had to kill that wiggling feather.

Then Mom and I finished up our game, I ate a potato treat and she drank more coffee... I heard Dad getting ready for a shower. I ran up the stairs, dashed in the room, and saw that feather still under the carpet! I rushed in, dove at the feather and just barely missed slashing open Dad's foot. He jumped out of the way and told Mom what had happened... He just needs to learn not to stand on my feather!
