Arrival Story:
Last July while in Kentucky visiting family we found Tiki or shall I say caught him. He was no older than 3-4 wks. Lets see where should I begin . . . . ahhh yes. It was a HOT, HUMID, STICKY mid summer night about 10 PM in Kentucky. It had just stormed ALL evening long. My daughter and I thought we'd go to McDonalds (which is next to an interstate). While in the drive-thru we heard faint mews coming from the ditch that ran along side the busy interstate. We asked the people at the window about it and they said yes, we've heard it crying since yesterday. Well that's all it took. You know me. My daughter and I spent the next 3 1/2 HOURS with flashlights in a ditch thick with briars, thorns, brush and mud trying to catch this tiny little kitten. There was so much underbrush we couldnt see him and he was too scared to come. Finally with some MUCH needed luck I happen to spot him right underneath me squirming under the thick brush! I reached down and HA . . we FINALLY got him!!! Needless to say we all 3 (Tiki, my daughter & I) were hot, filthy & exausted. But in the end, it was worth it . . . we saved a life that night.
