Atticus chose us -- we were playing with him and one of his sisters at the shelter, and when we let them both free in the "get to know you" room, Atticus came and sat in my lap while his sister ran for the door. They both played together (with enthusiasm) but Atticus was much more interested in us, checking in every few minutes between running and pouncing.
