My start on life in my new castle
I am back from the vetMarch 9th 2012 2:21 pm[ Leave A Comment | 17 people already have ] I am back from the vet and so it seems to be a UT infection.The vet drew some urine out of me but said the good thing is I wasn,t holding alot in which was good on my kidneys.I still try to pee but only a dimes worth.Then they gave mom some antibiotics and I got to home and got some canned mackeral when I got home.Mom said it was the quickest $87 she ever spent.But she says I,m worth it.I think I am too.I love all my Catster friends for always being supportive.

There can be many causes of UTI's. Stress is a biggie. Like in getting a new sisfur maybe! Plus diet can make a difference and getting plenty of hydration. Canned food is a big help in that. I believe it is suppose to be best to stay away from fish but maybe cats with experience with this can comment on that. Mommy doesnt feed Zack or I any fish just as a preventive. Good to take some simple preventive measures so it doesnt happen again or even worse next time. Have a good nap with Hannah! Luv, Zoey Thank you Zoey mom didn,t know about the fish .Is it fresh fish or seafood catfood.Mom does know that fresh fish can sometimes make an older cats thyroid go overactive.That,s what happened to Harley.Mom is going to research preventive ways on this so she can keep me healthy.It,s hard I am very finicky eater now Hannah on the other hand is a piggy and will eat anything that doesn,t move. Glad you are home and you got some yummy can food...UT's are not fun I used to get them too....once your medication starts working you will be able to pee more...and you won't be hurting either...I will continue to purr and praying for you... You should be on a grain free, canned or wet food diet. Hardly no fish. Nature's Variety, Evo, Wellness, etc. Those are good foods. I agree with Finney above. There are some good brands out there. We love Nature's Variety Chicken and Wellness Chicken or Turkey. It might take a bit to change Hunter over to a healthier diet and find what he likes but really, spending a little bit more money on food (and take the time to change him over) could help save lots of money on vet bills later. Petco sells alot of these good foods now. Mommy just orders all our food online from them. I think Petsmart too. Do you have a petsmart or petco near you? That way you could try single cans. I think any kind of fish - fresh or cat seafood, really isn't that good for cats especially boy cats. With already getting a UTI at a very young age, I think I would just stay away from it. Mommy had to learn lots when she got us as baby kitties too. But it is like a fresh start and good to get them started on a healthy path from a young age. Hunter I wonder if the fish supply these days just it's very good like too much mercury and that effects the pets and humans too that eat it. Some cats like some people can live long lives no matter what their habits, I think that might be good genes! Sometimes cats inherent problems just like we humans do. The Mama is grinning about the cost of the vet. She says any time these days that the vet bill is less than $100, she's surprised and grateful! Slight exaggeration, I think...but not by much - MOL! You are probably right Zoey Harleys mom lived till 21 and his aunt till 19 so they came from a strong family line.Hopefully now that mom knows some precautiuons for us we will hit that ripe old age too.Yes Samhain mom likes this vet.He is pretty reasonable and very good with us. wow Harley sure came from a long line of healthy kitties, mom thinks I must have to cause like harley I ate anything I wanted in the way of cat food and some human food and I was never sick till the very end, but the cats she has now she worries with their food and everything, mom did not know that about fish either an those cats love fish. We are all so furry glad you are home and purr you feel better quick! we couldn't agree more the vets can take that money real quick, buy we kitties are sure worth it. dood !!! way glad ewe bee home N sorree bout de hole UTI thing but veree glad yur kid kneez is grate...while we boast bout fish all de time, we haz never ....any oh us...had fresh fish...just tuna in water at a birthday ore a gotcha day....but we due love R canned wet...fish flavors....gram paw dude be like harley, hada fish diet all hiz life N lived ta all most 17, cuzin boomer on de other paw had sum stuff goin on N eated KD all hiz life and de vet at de time said him wont make it past 7....that bee 6 yeerz ago N boomer iz STILL livin large N in charge N sassin burds everee day :) hope yur road ta ree coveree iz a short one N ya haza speedy trip...just dont get a ticket :) yur mom thinks 87 $$$ be de quikest her ever spended....tell her if ewe getta speedin ticket, that 87 dollars be mewvin like a snail !!!!!!
