It did NOT rain!

For a whole day! We had forgotten what that was like. Best of all it was Sunday when my mum was home all day so we had the doors open and were in and out making the most of it.

Mum was doing housework and stuff but because the ground is still so muddy we could replace our pawprints on stuff as fast as she was wiping them off so that was good.

In the evening she reckoned she had worked hard and would have a nice, relaxing bath. She mostly stands under a personal rain shower to wash but sometimes fills the bath with warm water and just lies there with her book. I know! It's most peculier. I go and look in on her every now and then just to laugh. And yesterday..

"Why are you lying in soup?"

"It does look a bit like that it's true but this is my home-made Lavender Bath Soak."

"It looks like soup."

There were herby bits and stalky bits and I wouldn't even dip a paw in for fear of what else there might be.

But when she came out she said she felt wonderfully relaxed, "As relaxed as .." she searched for the most relaxed thing in the world. "As relaxed as a cat." And you don't get more relaxed than that. (Although she had to have a shower to wash all the soup off after the bath so I'm not sure she'll make that again.)

Anyway we are back to normal this morning and it is raining again.

we're having no rain at the moment but it freezing cold. Mum opened the door for me today I went out and came stright back in you'd think mum would've warned me it was cold. She just there and laughed at me.

I don't get our humans fascination with sitting in water either. My mum loved having baths before we moved where we live now and we don't have a bath. Oh well there are some things are meant to remain a mystery about our humans and this is one of them.

MOL on the bath subject! My mom's doctor prescribed a special mud bath if she gets too big a reaction from the antibiotics, but boy will we be giving her the eye if she uses it (she hasn't gotten up the courage yet.) Why would anyone want to soak in mud? (Of course mom's reply is that she doesn't want to, but will do so if it's necessary.) Humans and their baths are weird!

Oh Toby, PLEASE send some rain our way. We really need it. It is so dry some of the farmers are harvesting their corn early and feeding it to the cattle because it's so tiny, it's no good for corn on the cob. We have a serious problem in lots of the States of the USA. Bad drought. All the food prices will go up. Temperatures for the rest of the week: 35-37 c. We take any rain you have left over. We'll even take the stinky water from the flower vase. Send it all please.

We definitely need to swap some weather with the USA so we can have some sun for the Lympics and they can have our rain. Our farmers would be happy too as too much wet isn't good for the crops either so they want some sun to ripen everything. Josie and I are going to blow at the clouds with our deepest breaths and make sure we point West when we do that and hopefully that will help.
